My experience reflects many of the one star reviews that I wished I saw before booking them. The long story short version: 1. They arrived late and didn't take accountability for arriving late. They were like, "who said we are late?". And they didn't even communicate their ETA to us. 2. No one answered the phone , the morning that our moving service was scheduled and no one reached out to us on when they would arrive. Their contract states that they would reach out with their ETA and no one did. 3. Some of our larger items were bent or broken. 4. Because they were late, they ended late in the day so we weren't able to inspect our items until the next day. 5. Customer service takes ZERO accountability. 6. We agreed with AOA on moving items out of our garage but the day of the moving, their team refused to move it and said that it would void their insurance to move these items (lawn mower, garden supplies, etc). Soooooo we had to hire another moving company the same day and get charged the extra rate for late night and expedited moving services which is expensive. We politely reached out to the company and shared our experience and nothing was done but the company giving us all of these new reasons and excuses for the service. Side note: upon arrival to our house, they were driving fast on our road and damaged our neighbors property. read more

Recently moved homes during the summer of 2025. I called around a few places for some quotes and AOA offered the best price and services. Energy was on point from the start. The receptionist was professonial and responded quickly. She provided all, and additional information that I was looking for. This made the process of moving less stressful for me. The owner made the call to confirm and he is very professional and kind. He relayed all information provided from his receptionist. This crew does not miss a beat. I like how the owner is present and involved with his customers. The crew showed up on time, with the correct sized truck, supplies, and energy to tackle the day. I was hoping to have enough space for all my items. They even had some extra space to spare as well! Their method of moving and packing was superb. The move went smoothly. The guys took their time to carefully move all furniture and boxes in a timely manner. They worked so hard despite the heat of July. I stopped off and got them some coconut water to hydrate. They deserved it for their hard work! I had a fairly sized treadmill as well. This was an additional charge but they made no complaints and went right to helping take it apart and move it carefully for me. They even helped re-assemble once we got to our destination. These guys did not stop, they work very hard and exemplify the perfect team and made the move much easier for me. I made sure to tip them well because it was much deserved for their hard work. I had too many issues with the moving service 1. They double booked me with another job. 2. Instead of showing up at 9:00 AM they showed up at 7:00 PM. We were supposed to move from a 4 bed 4300 sq.ft house.. The movers were packing the stuff till 3AM. 3. The next morning at 7:00 AM the move continued and the crew damaged a few things: Master Bedroom frame Office desk Dining table. I am still waiting on the reimbursement from the company. Absolutely terrible service. We scheduled movers many weeks in advance for May 10 2025. The movers were scheduled to arrive between 5-7 pm. They never arrived and each time we called asking for an update, we were told that they're still complete previous job. I'm actually writing this review as I'm still waiting for the movers to arrive and it's 9:10 pm. We have only been waiting since the past 4 hours with absolutely no clarity on whether they're going to come or not. This has put us in so much trouble because we're not even able to make any alternative arrangements for moving our stuff. I wish I could give zero stars and I wish there was a way to report this unprofessional behavior. I'm sure all the positive reviews are fake because I can't believe that a moving company with such great reviews would have such abysmal customer service. read more

Had to move my daughter out of her apartment quickly and I couldn't be happier with the service I received from AOL. They were absolutely fantastic! John, my initial contact on the phone was very friendly and helpful and got all my information and details of the move quickly and accurately. His estimate was spot on, as he mentioned that extras over and above the initial estimate (extra time and supplies) would be added on if necessary. The movers, Zen and his partner (I'm sorry, but I know I'd misspell the partner's name) were top notch. The were friendly, efficient, and communicative. NEVER AGAIN AND NO COMMUNICATION!!! I requested May 19th. my arrival window came and went. Nobody called me. I had to call an hour after my window, then had to wait 20 minutes to find out the truck broke down and would not make it. Had to reschedule for the next day. had to pay someone to be there for me. I lost a day off and money for the lost time. I asked for a discount for inconvenience, No word from John, no word from sales, no response to surveys, no response from direct communication, no word from anybody. I could not recommend a moving company less. Our building had suggested to use this company and we did, but I had wished we didn't take the advice. We were quoted five hours for an unloading of a 1 BR apt total. I know that this is flexible, and moves run over (i've moved five times before with movers) but it took five hours alone to load the truck just from the first place and they still didn't take all of our belongings. I then had to call it and ask them to move everything they already have as we were eating into the new place loading dock time. I then had to move the rest of the things from the old place to the new place after paying over a grand well into the evening. They were not prompt, took additional time, and would wait in the car without telling me or my husband what they were doing. They left our couch on the sidewalk while UPS delivered the mail to the building as they didn't want to interfere. They could have instead continued to pack and move things but decided to take a break in the truck. Additionally, the truck they brought didn't fit in the loading dock of the old place so they had to block traffic and took additional time which they tried to charge me for. When moving the furniture they did have to the new place - they scratched the floors. They broke our picture frame. The shelf in our hallway cabinet is broken. Overall, it was a terrible moving day experience. I would like to add that we did call and I spoke to the owner as did my husband who gave us 30 min worth of time back, which I felt wasn't equivalent to the time we lost. The owner is not very kind, he's insulting (especially when talking to me), and accusatory. I know this is a business, and moving is so stressful already, but I have worked with stairhoppers before and would recommend them over this company. I wish we chose differently. As the owner said to me - there are two sides to every story (forgetting I sent pictures and my concerns in an email during the move as evidence) But in my case - as the customer - he said my concerns aren't valid but would do an investigation to which i didn't receive a follow up response. read more

Hired only to load my belongings onto a upack trailer fir a distance move. Ruined leather furniture and antique buffet, tables severe damage, ruined sectional, holes on chairs, ottoman. the most horrible experience ever. Left belongings out in rain and had to repack all boxes. There from 930 am until 325 am. Then back the next day 530 pm until 11 pm. Left expensive art out on the rain. Have hired a lawyer to go after this company and hold them responsible. I have extensive notes and photos entered as evidence. Will be placing a BBB formal complaint also.heartbroken about the loss. This was the first time I used this moving company and found them to be exceptional. The price was a little lower than others but basically in the same range. I received confirmations by text and email regularly, pictures of the finished move, the job took less time than the estimate and so my price was reduced in the end. We hired AOA to move us out of our one level apartment into a 3-story house requiring moving heavy furniture up multiple flights of stairs. Not to mention we moved on a hot humid and rainy day! The movers at AOA were fast, beating their quoted time by an hour! There is not one ding or dent in any of our furniture or any of the walls, and they kept the house as clean as possible in the process. The crew of three could not have been more polite, attentive, or have made quicker work of the job. Unfortunately, the quote was extremely below what the final price was. It took twice as long. I assume that was both AOA's doing and them not being informed of the very long hallway in the apartment building that slowed the job down significantly. But Darien and this colleagues were terrific. Dorian and Abay were on time, good hard workers with an upbeat, can-do attitude throughout the process of loading items from one storage area and relocating all to a lower cost storage facility 50 minutes away. The overall process did cost more than I had originally anticipated but that's because the new storage location had an unexpected height restriction that necessitated packing everything much more carefully and efficiently - which they were meticulous in doing. read more

AOA has been *fantastic* in helping me try to figure out an extraordinarily difficult moving situation (coordinating with a friend's movers, who keep not showing up). The price they quoted me was extremely reasonable -- HALF of what everyone else was trying to charge me. They responded very quickly, and were available the next day, which was incredible. They have been *more* than kind, friendly, and understanding as I have needed to reschedule multiple times. The two men helped me move absolutely everything & wrapped up furniture to prevent any damage! They did however not take caution when carrying things without a lid & I had a few things broken by them. I was disappointed in the delay of my move and then the guys not showing up until an hour after the communicated delay. I was also disappointed they didn't build back together stuff they had to take apart to move, except for one thing, & didn't put my TV back up as well. DO NOT trust five star reviews in Yelp or Google for this company. Highly regretted using their interstate moving service though the quote is within the range of all 5-6 businesses who responded to my request. Ok where do I begin. First of all, it took 2-3 days to respond my COI request (0 response from email/text, can finally get thru over phone call). Be careful with price transparency coz they can add any surcharge they can in the last minute. They argued same-building recyclable disposable is not included in initial quote and charged extra $250 last minute despite the fact that applicability of extra charge in contact doesn't mention anything related to trash disposal (only heavy items mentioned) as they knew customer had zero bargaining power during move-out day. Last but not least, manager was super vague about arrival time. The only occasion mentioned in the phone was "It will be delivered next thing in the morning", which was super confusing cos 1) I thought manager referred to delivery timing of COI 2) ETA is never mentioned in updated estimate 3) during actual moveout date, ETA was pushed off 2x from 3pm to eventually 4:30pm. Could've technically hired attorney to go after the vagueness of contract and lack of pricing transparency. But we've moved out of state and prob would never use interstate moving anyway. read more

Super nice guys, hard working, small business driven. I live on a 5th floor walk up with no elevator, so when I saw them moving in a new person in my building - newbie recommended and I book them. Originally I booked 3 people - but since their AM move went over - they convinced me to book 4 people. Wow - 4 people made a huge difference.
