I used Prudential moving a few years ago -- I was driving up on Sunday from Virginia and had originally intended to store my furniture with U-haul, but made it to the storage unit just 5 minutes after U-haul closed. While towing a trailer through the city and calling several places only to find that they were closed for the night, Prudential moving was able to meet us at a parking lot and transfer all of my things to their van. When I needed to move in to my 5th floor walk-up apartment on a busy street on 9/1, they carried everything up the narrow staircase in the heat and humidity, all in a few hours. They were extremely efficient, hardworking, communicative, and all of my things arrived undamaged. At first, I felt the price was higher than I'd want, but at the end, it was more than worth it. Called the night before the move and said it would be an hour later. Reasonable. Day of the move was called at the new start time and told it needed to be rescheduled for the next day because of illness, super inconvenient but things happen. Next day no response from calls or text until almost 2 hours after start time indicating they were in the hospital and couldn't get to the phone, starting to sound a little sketchy. Is there just one guy doing all the moves? Told they would make it right the next afternoon. If I had to be out that weekend that would have already put me in a bad position but I had planned for an extra week to make sure the old place was clean so I said "one more shot". Next day, should have guessed. No call no show no response from calls or text. Straight to voicemail. Called the credit card company to get my deposit back. There was a miscommunication on the size of the move, (I take full responsibility.), and though it took 2 times longer than expected, everyone stayed extremely polite, professional, and DIDN'T SLOW DOWN! They did a very impressive job packing everything to ensure all was protected, and were great with maneuvering extremely large/heavy items (giant washer and dryer) down three flights of stairs. Sergei and one other gentleman showed up around 8:30AM and provided us with a courtesy call before they arrived. They were diligent in wrapping up our furniture before placing it on the truck making sure not to damage anything.
