Extremely difficult move with Hingham Moving Company. Keys lost, furniture damaged, boxes mislabeled, packed in chaos, and misplaced, fragile and sentimental heirlooms broken. Keith was dismissive and insulting about concerns, saying that "little things that happen" and told me I was "just having a difficult time." Promised everything, delivered the most stressful part of the move. The experience was unprofessional and disappointing. contracted this company to do a move of furniture into a pod. Move was completed, and days later, a small gouge was noticed on a wall. When this was brought up they said "they didn't do the damage but they would fix it anyway on Wednesday." Everything solved right? No. I told Keith the reason why I wanted it fixed was because I felt the cost was high for moving furniture from my house to a pod 25 feet away, so yes, I wanted it repaired. Keith then texted me to find somebody else, we're not going to do the return move because "they don't do business this way, and they'be moved the Patriots and presidents!" Wow! So thanks, will find another company that will do the move just as well, and for less money, AND they'll stand by their work. Thanks for nothing. read more

Buyer beware. Be very careful using this moving company as they tend to provide high estimates on weight driving the quote up substantially. I received quotes from 3 moving companies in the Marshfield/Hingham area and Hingham Moving was close to 30% higher than the other two. These guys were great. We had a short move two towns over and got a quote from them just to double check the company we used last time. Much better price, super friendly, fast and professional crew. They packed up a 5 bed house and unloaded everything to storage in under 6 hours with no damage to the house or our stuff. Well definitely use them again coming out of storage. read more

I've moved more times than I care to remember. A few of those times, I used professional movers. And each time, I was disappointed. So I had some trepidation about using a moving company again, but I also didn't want to move myself in the middle of July. After getting several estimates, I went with HMS. They're local and they included everything. And by everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Keith brought me boxes, tape, wardrobe boxes, dish barrels, and wrapping paper. On the morning of my move (one week ago), the truck pulled up when it was supposed to. The movers took great care of my furniture, including taking apart my bed (then putting it back together). They wrapped everything with pads and/or shrink wrap and bagged my bed (most other companies will bag your bed, but you have to buy the bags). The guys put everything where it belonged in my new place; they even helped with a bit of interior design. Throughout, they were professional and friendly, to the point that they'd even ask if they could use the bathroom. I cannot say enough about this company. This was the easiest and best move I've ever made. Oh, and Keith is even coming by to take the empty boxes away. I feel good knowing that they'll be used more than once. It would be a shame to toss into recycling. Bottom line- 5 out of 5. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality move at a reasonable price! read more

I contacted Hingham per recommendation by another moving company who unfortunately couldn't accommodate my cross country move. Keith and Danny were absolutely fantastic in every way possible. They are consummate professionals. They arrived on-time. Communication was easy and prompt. I had some difficulties and needed some last minute accommodations and they did not hesitate to help me out. I have so much respect for them. Moving cross country, I expected things not to go well but I did not have to worry about a thing. My things arrived on time and in perfect condition. I can't say enough good things about this company. Moving is a stressful event to say the least. Hingham took a lot of that stress away. They stayed in touch in the days/weeks leading up to the move. They made sure that any questions we had were answered and even came up with questions we should have asked. The crew that moved us was professional and efficient. We have a china cabinet with a lot of glass (shelves and doors). They shrink wrapped everything and it came through without a scratch. I called a few movers before calling Keith, he was personable and friendly. I told him where I was moving (from the third flr (no elevator) to right across the street to a much larger first flr).
