I hired Mike and his crew to move me last fall, just getting back to writing the review now but I'm very happy with their services. I honestly found them and hired them because of their good reviews and they're all true. The crew was there early, they worked quickly and even finished the job AHEAD of Mike's time estimate! My final bill was about $80 less than Mike quoted me, how can you beat that?! I know that's rare and I don't want to hold them to that the next time, but they didn't milk the clock when they definitely could have and that shows integrity in business. I will definitely be using Mike and the Midnight Movers crew again this summer. I was moving out of an apartment and into a house with family while my wife and I wait for our home to finish being built. The crew was careful with all of our stuff, they were courteous at my family home when they arrived and were in and our swiftly. No damage to our stuff and again the rate was great. I'd highly recommend them! read more

I had a window of 8-10 the company called day of move at 9:40 and cancelled the move because the movers are sick! Do not use this company they don't have contingency plan. read more

Unbelievably dishonest! Do not torture yourself! 1) permanently damaged an expensive chair in front of me then denied his involvement. 2) 1 guy was so weak I had to take his place to keep the process moving. I paid for 2 and got 1. 3) Cedric stated 4 times to my wife and me that it is a 3 hour job, then failed to meet the oral agreement. Ultimately I paid for 2 more hours as I watched them slow down to increase time. 4) intimidating payment practice. Once completed (debatable), they will send the "big" guy to demand payment immediately- he will make it clear you are not leaving. just don't do it, it's not worth the pain and anguish. Charged me $50 as deposit but still do not return to me for 1 month after moving service. Contacted them many times, but nothing happens. Although moving service is ok, the deposit returning makes me disappointed. To Mike: You refunded deposit via paypal since I disputed it. I never said your crews stole my wallet. The truth is your man packed my coat in a box without telling me and I could not find my wallet which was in my coat. I asked them if they saw my coat but they forgot doing this. This is just misunderstanding. I called you and wondered if my coat was left on your truck because after moving it was dark. You promised to return my deposit by check many times but it never comes true. Then I have to dispute to protect myself. If there is anything I said is wrong, please point it out. Don't put shit on my head! read more

Great guys, great movers! They went out of their way to help me with my move(s). Loaded up a truck super fast in Quincy and then traveled 60 miles out of their way to help me move into Lowell. Not only did they work quickly but they were friendly, pleasant and charged me right around what I was quoted. Good, consistent communication and easy invoicing process. You can trust Mike and his team with your move, they made things much less stressful for me!! Thanks Midnight Movers! :-) read more

Anthony and Colin helped me move at the end of October and I can't say enough good things about them - this was my third move in three years and it was by far the most respectful, courteous and professional crew I have worked with. They moved everything with care and in an orderly, quick manner. On top of it, the price of the move was the most reasonable of all my moves! I would HIGHLY recommend Midnight Movers! read more

We had this company come and pack our moving truck. The crew that showed up was not experienced packers. Our truck was packed very poorly, with lots of available space left unused. We were charged for blankets by the blanket used, and the crew wrapped items that didn't need wrapping while ignoring antiques that should have been wrapped. Because of this, the antiques were damaged when the poorly packed load shifted. I would not recommend this company, our experience was very poor. read more

This moving company is wonderful. I highly recommend! We just moved from Quincy MA to upstate NY (which is abt 7-8 hrs). The guys did a great job...all of our (large amount of!) stuff arrived in perfect condition. They disassembled and then reassembled furniture as necessary (ie our kids' bunk beds)---got our very large couch out in like 5 minutes quite easily (my husband had to remove the door jam to get it it when we first bought it!)---MM had no problem whatsoever. The crew was extremely courteous and very fast too...we were amazed at how fast they got out stuff into the truck as it had taken days for us to pack it! In making this long distance moved we really researched many options including renting our own truck, as well as going with some of the more well known movers. We decided this was our best option for our sanity and price wise overall. I am very glad we went with Midnight Movers, and would go with them again, should the need arise. They made what could have been a ugly move quite painless! read more

Michael and his crew took SUCH good care of me and my belongings. They were incredibly fast, extremely careful with everything (fragile or not) and really went the extra mile. They wrapped the furniture really well - I couldn't have done as good a job if I were doing it myself. I will never move again without their help! read more

Used them to move when my husband and I bought our first house and they were fantastic. Then 5 years later I used them again when we moved. It was an absolute nightmare, all of my items were either broken (family crystal, furniture, glassware, a hot tub that they said wouldn't be a problem) and then they "lost" a ton of items including my wedding album. A random person got one box of my deceased grandmothers photos and photos of my dad that had passed recently. She was kind enough and found me through fb. However never even got a single response on the other outstanding items from mike or midnight movers. I was told he wasn't feeling well and traveling to Florida and never heard back or got my missing items. He and his team were tipped, paid in full and fed throughout the entire move process. Steer clear if you value your possessions. read more

Just moved with Midnight Movers and everything was excellent! Very professional and went above and beyond for us. If you are moving in the Massachusetts area or elsewhere you need to give these guys a call!!!! read more

I would leave zero stars if possible. I booked these guys over two weeks in advance, talked to Michael the owner, received an invoice confirming our scheduled move info and thought we were good to go. Day of the move, today, has come and they no show. Received a call from Michael (an hour and a half late) and got every excuse in the book. Don't book these guys. Stay as far away as possible. Totally unprofessional. read more

Midnight Movers were very responsive prior to the move and then did a great job packing the container--everything was packed securely and quickly and nothing was damaged. However, prior to the move they had told me via email there would be no travel fee; when I told this to the head mover after they had finished loading the container, he became very agitated and insisted that I pay the travel fee despite the prior email assurances. I did so, feeling that they had done a good job but also by that point feeling a bit intimidated being alone with him in my empty apartment. After I wrote the check including the fee, he then came back and knocked on my door and told me I had better not cancel payment on the check. I was also told that they would follow up with me to resolve the fee issue but they never did. Also, they left about a 2 inch substantial scratch in one of my doors which I could cover with paint but which they never pointed out to me. I would recommend using them for moving, but would ensure that you receive a fully accurate contract that you are satisfied with prior to the move. read more

I booked a move with this company during the busy period of early September. The owner spoke with me about my moving needs and scheduling was quick and painless. The quote was reasonable. The move-out was uneventful - the movers were very nice, worked hard, and quickly. They called asking if they could arrive several hours after what was scheduled, which was fine with me. Unfortunately, the move-in (which took place on a separate day) was full of problems. We scheduled the move for first-thing-in-the morning. I communicated very clearly that I had to leave for work at noon, and I was assured that would be no problem. I waited for them from 7:30 onwards, but they did not show up until just before 11 - an hour before I had to leave. And, they had not gotten parking permits (despite my paying them to do so - although they did not charge me since they never got them) so time was wasted parking and getting the truck settled. There was also a mix of my items and someone else's items in the truck, and several times they carried other peoples' belongings into my place. I ended up standing by the door watching what they brought in and saying 'that's not mine'. This wasted more time, and the movers were frustrated and apologetic. They were not done when I was supposed to leave for work, I waited an extra half hour, still not done, so I had no choice but to pay them before the job was done and leave them alone to finish the job. I was not totally comfortable with this, but I had no choice. Arriving home that evening, I walked into a chaotic scene. One of my belongings was sitting out on the sidewalk, it must have been forgotten out there. They had taken a light fixture down to get my couch in, and that was not reinstalled. The legs were taken off my couch, they were not reattached, and their screws were missing (I never found them and had to search for replacements). My desk was broken and the glass on a framed art print was broken. Stacks of boxes sat just inside of the door, all of the room labels and 'fragile' labels ignored. Some boxes were crushed under the weight of the tall stacks. And, a couple of my things had not been delivered. I contacted the owner who assured me they had the missing items, and he delivered them to me a couple of weeks later, and took the broken glass frame to be replaced and brought it back to me. It took a long time and a lot of texts/emails, but OK, he took care of these things. But the broken desk remains unresolved. The owner asked me to send him links to comparable desks, which I did. He wrote me back saying 'that seems very expensive for a small desk that was not very strong to begin with' ... just pushback, no proposed solution. At this point, wanting to just move on we settled on a reimbursement amount that was disappointing to me, but better than nothing. That was 3 months ago and I still have not received the check I was promised. I have sent probably 20 texts and emails in the interim. For a while I got replies (and promises to send the check), but since early December I have not gotten any response. In my opinion, this is unbelievably unprofessional. On top a very stressful move-in, this company has wasted my time ever since and not followed through on their promises. After this ordeal, there is absolutely no way I would recommend them. MM, are you reading this? Can you please send me the money you owe me? +1 star for the movers - they were hardworking and friendly. read more

This was not a good experience. My sister did not expect such poor professionalism. This outfit doesn't even own company trucks with a logo. Very sketchy to say the least. They were late and unorganized. To top it off, one of the furniture pieces got damaged. We were not happy at all read more

I used Midnight Movers to move my 2-bedroom apartment from Boston to upstate New York in August. It was my first time using a moving company, and I shopped around before selecting this company. I ultimately decided to use them because the owner Michael called me directly to discuss my move, and he and his staff provided excellent customer service during the two weeks preceding my move. He was up front with me about pricing, and I felt like I could have a honest conversation with him, unlike other companies that came off very pushy about their services. The moving guys arrived on time, were friendly, professional, efficient and careful with my furniture. They kept in touch with me via phone during the 4 hour drive to New York, and were open to my suggestions about alternative routes when we hit traffic. Although the move took 2+ hours longer due to traffic, the final bill did not exceed my original quote. I could not have been happier with my experience using Midnight Movers. read more

I had used Michael twice in the past year. February 2013 and Oct 2013. He quoted me much less than the number one movers on yelp. The first move he and his one employee were professional, on time, and simply made the move painless. My furniture consisted of an electric Lazyboy chair, a mattress, and a box spring. The second move, six months later was the opposite. I booked him a month in advance. The furniture was a desk, chair, mattress, and box spring. He told me it would be early in the morning. That morning I found out he contacted me by email, not phone or text that he changed it to the afternoon. They moved me, literally around the corner. The person he had with him very obviously had never moved furniture. Didn't have a clue what he was doing. I was promised by his employee he would put the top of the chair back on its track, never happened. I promised the home owner her hard wood floors wouldn't be scratched, they got very scratched. I had a few empty boxes that expensive boots $383 and $150 boots came in. He asked me if I wanted him to move the empty boxes. I told him yes, they never made it so I got stuck with the boots. Mike was mislead by the first homeowner that a bureau was to be moved. He did move it back with a large scratch on the front of it. Included was a cable box that was not mine. I handed it to him to return with the bureau. He never returned it. He did confirm that he had it, promised me that he would drop it off and never did. I had tipped him and his employee extremely well. If he has a tall thin employee, beware. The employee to the left in the pic is very good. read more

I used midnight movers for a simple move from Boston to Davis Square. They were several hours late, overcharged me, broke a huge floor standing mirror with the promise of getting it fixed or replaced. After 3 months, countless phone calls and messages- they still have not returned the broken item and there is no response to phone calls and emails. Use a different company. read more

Mike and his team were fantastic- courteous, skilled, attentive to detail, careful, enthusiastic. I would DEFINITELY hire them again in the future, and will recommend them to friends and family. We had 2 pieces of furniture that weighed around 800lbs each, I informed them of this prior to the move so they could make sure they had the equipment/manpower they needed to move them, and they moved them a) without hurting themselves (most importantly), and b) without damaging the furniture/doorframes, etc. These guys are great. read more

These guys are good. Moving sucks, we all know that. Try finding out there is a hurricane scheduled to hit the day you are supposed to move! Yup, the Frankenstorm! The moving company I had scheduled could not move my date and I was in trouble. I went to Yelp, found Michael (owner of Midnight Movers) and called him. We had everything set up in 15 minutes. The move happened 36 hours later and after 14 hours, 4 guys and two trucks the move was finished. Price was beyond fair and his crew was professional. Hire these guys. read more

Great service Mike and Jay were wonderful I highly recommend them for all your moving needs!

They moved my house with no damage that I could see. They gave me a fair price and even went further by going to three locations to collect all of my furniture. Mike works extremely hard and covers everything with protective mats as well as carefully packing the truck. read more
