After a problem we couldnt anticipate they had to give up after really trying hard to get a too large cabinet through a tight pivot They admitted defeat and their boss though clearly frustrated decided not to charge me so I asked them to keep or sell the cabinet and tipped them for their trouble. I wish I could give them a million stars. That's how amazing they were. My husband and I moved after living in the same place for 40 years. We're the opposite of minimalists, so there was a LOT to pack and move. Five guys, two trucks. Marcos, the manager, came to the house to see what needed to be moved and provide an estimate. The guys showed up, and worked really hard for about 10 hours, in 90 degree heat. By the time we got to the new house, it was 11pm. They set up our bed and a few things we'd need overnight, and then returned the next morning to deliver everything else. Every one of these guys worked incredibly hard, and were so very nice. One thing that impressed me was that they had a leader, Raul, who coordinated everything and kept me informed of what was happening. A few years ago, I used this company to move to a different floor in my building. Now, circumstances have changed and I needed to get rid of furniture I no longer needed. So, my mom decided to take the dresser and bed off my hands, which was fine by me. I called Bunker Hill Moving because I was a past customer and my husband and I were satisfied with their services. I spoke to Martha and she was extremely helpful and answered all my questions and gave me a decent quote! Fast forward to day of the move and they moved everything out on time, and then I met them at my mom's place to help coordinate things. The box spring couldn't go up the stairs so they hoisted it up which helped a lot. Then the rest of the things were moved and that was that. They could have charged me for the hoist but they didn't which was generous (hoisting was unexpected and this was why). That move was completed professionally, promptly, and carefully. So in January 2024 when I needed to have a heavy and bulky recliner moved from Milton to my apartment, I didn't hesitate to call Bunker Hill. From the first phone call with Enzo to moving day on January 9th, I experienced nothing but excellence. The two movers, Allan and Antonio actually arrived early to Milton and after removing two doors, carefully transported the chair from a second floor bedroom to the first floor via a "tricky" staircase. First time using movers and it was an excellent experience! The three guys who showed up to my house were professional polite and hard working. They didn't even blink an eye when construction at the end of my street caused a parking issue they just figured it out and got it done. Special thanks to the Quincy police for stopping the work and letting them get out to the main road! I paid a little more than the estimate and it wasn't cheap $700 before I tipped them but it was a tough third floor to third floor move and they did not slack off at all. They were gentle with all of my stuff in fact a screw fell out of one of my items and they were trying so hard to put it back like they thought the broke it and i was like guys its cool that falls out all the time. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because my pick up time was delayed 3 times, it was August 31st in Boston, but I had to call every 2 hours or so to ask when they would be there. When they arrived they worked so quickly and helped cut costs by using materials I had on hand. Everything was delivered promptly the next day and the move was less expensive than I anticipated. After pouring over dozens of options for my move, I was to the end of my rope with all the calls, all the estimates and all the information I had to digest. In the end, I realized after reading blog after blog on moving that the most important factor in choosing a mover is how well others fared before you. Price is secondary, when you're looking to choose a mover that will ensure the safe delivery of all of your belongings. I chose Bunker Hill Moving not because they were the cheapest, but because they had quite the reputation with 5 stars across the board on Yelp and of course, they met the criteria for professional movers, having all the permits and insurance and so on. My first contact with Bunker Hill Moving was exceptionally better than with other movers I spoke with. Joanie was the first person I spoke with over the phone and she was incredibly accommodating with my dates and my requests. I discussed with her my specific needs and she was more than willing to work with me to accommodate them. Additionally, when I indicated that the estimate for my move was over my budget, she asked Marcos, the gentleman coordinating our move to speak with me and help to make our move fall within our budget. From the very beginning dealing with this company I felt like they were honest and friendly, and not smarmy and shady, like some of the others with whom I spoke. Finally, on our move day things took a turn for the worse for Bunker Hill - their truck broke down. Rather than delay my move however (our new residence would have charged us $500 - $800 for the delay in moving-in), they circled their wagons, found a way to move my things and deliver them on time despite not having access to their own moving van. Moreover, despite the setback Marcos came for work with a smile on his face and pleasant quality about him that most people don't have when they're not hauling my furniture down from a 4th floor walk-up. We used Bunker Hill for our move from Cambridge to Somerville. Right from the start Joanie was extremely nice, professional and accommodating over the phone. Joanie and Mario came by to estimate the amount of stuff we had and how long it would take them to move it all. On the day itself Mario and his crew arrived on the agreed upon time and got to work immediately. We had packed our boxes ourselves and had everything ready to go. They wrapped all our furniture in professional moving blankets and made sure nothing got damaged. Within a couple of hours they had the truck loaded and were ready to go. After a quick lunch and a 15 minute drive the truck was in front of our new house. Again, within a couple of hours all our things were in the rooms we wanted them in and they were done.
