First time in Spa Siam Orchid! The place is so clean and beautiful. Located in downtown San Mateo which is a great location to grab brunch, lunch, or dinner after your spa day. My brother gave my husband and I a gift card to use. My sister in law has been here and highly recommended this spot. We made reservations on their website and we were able to book a couple's massage on a Saturday afternoon. Coming in was so welcoming and they take you to your room. I had Cherry and she was amazing. My husband and I did the couples Swedish message and I was so relaxed I definitely took a nap. After the message I felt rejuvenated and amazing. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back! Thank you!
Amazing!!! I was able to book an appointment the same day and it was a much needed spa experience. I was going to book a 90 minute Swedish massage, but saw they had a special for a head, foot and body massage. The facility is beautiful and clean and the masseuse was great. She checked in about pressure and helped me get out some knots. Highly recommend if you're looking for some relaxation.
I remember eyeing siam spa orchid in the past but couldn't justify the high price compared to other massage places but let me tell you, you very much get what you paid for and it is worth it. I was having recurring edema issues in my ankles and felt like I needed a good foot massage to help with drainage and circulation. Sometimes I winced in pain during the massage but it was the good kinda pain. It was my first time trying a swedish massage so the first time ive had someone walk on me, but she really loosened up tightness in my legs. I walked away feeling renewed and no recurring edema, so I was thrilled. If the massage itself wasn't enough, I got to end my thai with nourishing snacks like dried fruit, and a delicious herbal lemongrass tea. Truly THE place if you want a mix of pampering but also fixing any pain/discomfort.
This is my second time at Spa Siam Orchid, and the services are great! As soon as you enter the spa, it's so calm and relaxing, you forget you're in San Mateo Downtown. The Swedish massage was perfect, and I also added the gua sha facial, it was an amazing combo. I really recommend this spa!
I've been coming here for the past year and it's become my go-to spot! I come often for the Swedish massage with Lala, and every single time the service is amazing. The facility is always very clean and relaxing. Lala really knows how to work out tension and always leaves me feeling refreshed. I'll definitely keep coming back, and I've recommended this place to all my friends and family. Highly recommend!
4/5 Stars - Amazing First Massages, But the Staff Tension Was Hard to Ignore I want to preface this by saying that my boyfriend and I had never had professional massages before, and after yesterday, we both wish we would have done this sooner! Our appointments were at 5:00 PM, and the front desk seemed to be running a tad behind. Unfortunately, they didn't communicate the delay when we checked in. The lobby environment felt a bit stressed out; one of the hostesses was actually yelling, which definitely took away from the relaxation portion of the waiting experience. We were finally taken back to our rooms around 5:10 PM, at which point the staff acknowledged the delay and thanked us for our patience. Our masseuses arrived shortly after and started the session with a foot scrub that felt absolutely luxurious. We booked 1-hour Swedish massages. About 10 to 15 minutes into the session, our relaxation was interrupted by other masseuses shouting and arguing in the hallway. It lasted for what felt like a few minutes, and that lack of consideration is the main reason I'm deducting a star. People visit a spa to unwind, not to hear staff frantically screaming and yelling outside the door. That being said, the massage itself was fantastic. I wish I had noted my masseuse's name because she was absolutely amazing. She checked in consistently to ensure the pressure was exactly to my liking. I also loved that during check-in, they ask for your desired target areas. Working a desk job leaves my neck, shoulders, and forearms incredibly tense, and she did a phenomenal job focusing on those exact spots. They offer so many different types of treatments that we honestly can't wait to go back and try something else. We are just hopeful that next time the environment will be a little more peaceful and a lot less loud!
Everything was delightful, from the moment you step into the beautiful building to the entire massage session. It's filled with small, intentional details that make the experience truly unique and deeply relaxing. Really great experience and customer service! The front desk staff are very welcoming and patient. The environment is very relaxing and luxurious, and my massage was super relaxing. Booking is very simple through an online portal, and they have lots of different options to choose from.I highly recommend it!
I recently decided to take a random day off and was thinking about doing a massage when Yelp dropped a perfectly timed email about spa days. I thought I had clicked on the local spa highlights collection and the top 2 were Bay Area, when I realized I was in the Top 50 in the US collection! And Spa Siam Orchid was #2! I checked for available reservations on a Friday morning and very easily made an appointment for a 90 min Volcanic Stone Massage ($210+ tax and tip). I knew what to expect having read other yelp reviews - check in on an iPad and you get called for your massage. No associated saunas/hot room. I was offered water or tea at the start. When I was called and brought to my room, I was asked to change into a robe (masseuse left the room) and to start soaking my feet in a warm water bath - my masseuse Yumi did a nice, gentle scrub on my feet and then asked me to remove the robe and get under blankets (again leaving the room to give me privacy). I had asked for more attention to my upper back and shoulders, and requested medium pressure - Yumi definitely paid that attention to those areas and checked in with me several times to check that the pressure amount was suitable. It was soooo relaxing - nearly fell asleep! I had never gotten a hot stone massage and I'm not entirely sure how they normally go, but I enjoyed them when they were applied - the stones were smooth and if not for the temperature change, I don't think I would've been able to tell if it was stone or Yumi's strong but smooth hands. I did feel bruised later that day and the following day but that's pretty normal for massages for me. Overall, fantastic experience although a little pricey - a nice splurge every now and then!
What a hidden gem. A friend recommended this place and I'm so happy that I booked myself a bday massage. What a treat, Charlotte was amazing, service and ambiance so elegant.
I LOVE this place. I've been here so many times for massages and every single experience has been amazing. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the therapists; everyone I've had has been wonderful. The space is beautiful, peaceful and so relaxing, and I always leave feeling incredible. Definitely one of my favorite massage spots and a place I'll keep coming back to!
Got a 1 hour deep tissue massage with Alysa and she was really good with the pressure! The aromatherapy and warm pad compressions were good too. Angie was also very friendly at the front desk! I would go again!
The hubby surprised me with a massage appointment for my birthday. It was our first time here and I was impressed by the decor and aesthetics of the entire place. I was greeted by the gal at the front desk. She was kind, professional and offered me water. I completed a short questionnaire/waiver prior to my appt. My massage therapist was Josie. When I got to my room, I was shown baskets to leave my persona belongings and shoes. I changed into a robe and dipped my feet in a bowl of perfectly warm water. I got a quick foot and leg scrub before laying down on the warm massage table. I had a 90 mins Swedish massage- it was pure bliss. Josie's medium pressure was perfect and she adjusted her pressure on areas that were tender for me. I loved her technique. I really needed the full body massage today. After getting massaged with massage oil, she wiped my body down with warm towels. Highly recommend this spa and will definitely be back! Oh- please check out the restrooms. They are gorgeous! Heated Toto toilets, beautiful shower, etc.
This was my fourth visit to this location and despite having a different massage therapist each time, the experience has been consistent and inviting. If you're anything like me and hold tension / stress from work in your shoulders, 60min likely isn't enough time. I'm sure more visits would result in even less shoulder & back pain but still worth a ~monthly visit.

My husband and I shared a lovely couples massage here. The design and decor is truly pleasing, with so many precious details that make the space feel elevated (the butterfly hallways!) Our 1 hour couples massage began with a rose-petaled foot bath. I usually get a deep tissue, but wanted a more relaxing message and my therapist Karina met the perfect "light" pressure for me. I think we found our local spa! read more

My boyfriend and I visited Spa Siam last weekend for the first time and I will definitely be back. This location is in downtown San Mateo so parking can be a bit difficult especially on the weekends. Upon entering the establishment, the smell was so therapeutic. The receptionist greeted you immediately and got us checked in right away. They offered us some drinks from their mini bar. There's two floors here and they have massage rooms in both floors. The massage rooms were really cozy. I did their Soothing Balm Massage for one hours and my boyfriend did one of their deep tissue massage package. I enjoyed everything about my message except the part where my masseuse almost burnt my neck with the balm they were using. The reason why she almost burnt was because I had a necklace on and she was pressing the balm on my neck where my necklace was sitting. Heat and metal don't go together clearly and I kept on telling her it hurts but she kept on doing it. I would just hope they either ask everyone to remove all jewelry or be mindful of that cause it really hurt. This massage is more relaxing, which I enjoyed. My boyfriend also said he enjoyed his massage and got all the knots he wanted out. He did say he wished they spent more time on his feet but we would have to get a different package for that. This is a good place to go to and I highly recommend them. read more

I just had an amazing deep tissue massage with Abigail. As a jewelry maker, my neck, shoulders, and hands take a constant beating. I asked her to focus on those key areas, and she did an incredible job--the relief was immediate. The facility is exceptionally clean, beautiful, and welcoming. I will definitely be back and 100% recommend Abigail! read more

My husband has come to Spa Siam at least four times over the past two months. He encouraged me to come by. Since we didn't work on Veterans' Day, and my husband had a recent birthday, I decided to make the day our couples massage day. I reached out to Spa Siam via Yelp, and I got a response in under two minutes. Within 10 minutes, and appointment was booked. The day before I got a call to confirm the appointment. Upon arrival, we were greeted and we filled out our intake forms. I got a deep tissue massage and my husband got the Sia Orchid Ritual. Once my massage therapist, LaLa, got started I knew that I should've booked a longer massage. Sixty minutes was not enough! LaLa's pressure was firm and perfect. She did a fantastic job on my neck, shoulders, hands, and feet. She even attempted to massage my scalp (I say attempt because I wear braids in my hair). Oh! They started the massage with a foot soap and scrub. Loved it! I had a great experience here. The space is decorated beautifully, it is clean, and it is totally relaxing. I can't wait to return! read more

The prettiest Thai spa in the Bay Area! My husband booked the Siam Style Foot Massage. This includes a foot soak, scrub, exfoliation, followed by a pressure point massage of the legs and feet to improve circulation and removes energy blockages. I booked the Siam Orchid Balm Herbal Retreat. This includes a foot soak, scrub, and exfoliation, followed by a combination of pressure massage with Thai balm. Lastly, stretching and heated herbal Prakob compress is applied, to reduce muscular soreness and improve circulation. We were able to get both services together in the same room. It was our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last. Can't wait to go back! read more
This was one of the best massages I've ever had, a very luxurious spa. My masseuse did so good! I liked how they give you a questionnaire of which areas you'd like them to focus on and if you are pregnant or have any allergies. I prebooked to get a 1 hour couple's massage as a little post wedding treat. Staff are all very friendly. The environment is nice and soothing. The place is well upkept. They serve you hot tea after your session with some treats to munch on as well. My husband and I will be coming back here when we are in a need of a treat! read more

Excellent Thai Massage here. The establishment is highly professional, clean, and fairly large. Reminds me of the Let's Relax chain in Bangkok. In case if you're not familiar with Thai Massage, it's a fairly firm massage with some stretching. In fact, if you want the practitioner will stand on you to apply maximum pressure. You start with a complimentary tea and then asked to change into some special clothing to facilitate the massage. You also get a nice foot bath to start. The overall massage was great especially if you like firm massages with lots of pressure! read more
First time getting a thai massage! I was a bit nervous going in, but everyone was so welcoming and nice. After filling out the paperwork, I was greeted my masseuse (Margie). I wrote soft pressure and she did exactly that. My main problem area is shoulder & back and she def spent a lot of time on it and got out some of the knots. Asked me a couple times, if the pressure was good. Overall the massage was relaxing and my shoulders felt looser. There's a table filled with little goodies like chocolate and candy that you can get after the massage too. Overall, this is a super clean and relaxing place! Would come back for another massage! read more

I had such a wonderful experience at Spa Siam Orchid! I was treated to a massage here for my birthday, and it was such a relaxing and special way to celebrate. Alisha did an amazing job with my Thai Aroma Swedish massage. She has a wonderful touch and communicated throughout the massage to make sure the pressure was just right and that I was comfortable. Even the room temperature was perfect. The spa itself is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and spotless. Everything felt very clean and well cared for, and I truly enjoyed the entire experience. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. I would definitely come back and highly recommend Alisha and Spa Siam Orchid! read more
