They are very kind here. It was easy to book over the phone. I went in for the 60 minute massage. I noted on a card that I would like more emphasis on the lower back and shoulders. I've been to different massage places but this was the most unusual experience. Most of the time the massage was dry rubbing or constant rubbing me. It was also pulsating massage instead of a nice subtle pressure. I've done deep tissue and swedish at multiple places so I thought this was odd. Additionally, when they massaged my neck, I felt like they were pressing down on my carotid artery. Overall, I felt like the person doing my massage wasn't trained well or it was overall very odd. I disliked the constant repetitive rubbing over my shoulders. There was no compression and it just felt like they were just rubbing to make me feel like this was deep. There was no variation in technique at all. I was really disappointed by my experience. read more

I give 3 1/2 stars my boyfriend gives 4. They don't answer the phone, so we walked in got seen in a little over an hour. A lot of elbow & arm work not so much finger/hands for deep tissue. There were times were it was too much on my bone spinal cord. Was looking for more knots to be found and worked on. Total for us two $140 + the tip I gave. I had been ailing with neck, shoulder, back and glute pains for a bit so I asked her to focus on those areas (they give you a chart to mark) and asked for the pressure to be heavy. I have a shoulder/neck injury that I have been dealing with for about 3 years. For last few months I had been trying different places for deep tissue massages and accupuncture as suggested by the therapist. I happened to find this massage place on yelp which had great reviews and decided to call them. The receptionist who answered my call was very friendly and accomodating. She said there was a slot available for an hour of deep tissue massage so I went. The place was very clean and ambience was very relaxing. She greeted and explained the services and packages they offer which I did appreciate and asked me to try once before signing up for one. I saw all their professional lisences posted on the wall so I knew it was legit place. She said my massuese will come out in 15 mins so I waited and right on time Vivian came out and took me for my massage. I have to admit this most likely was one of the best massages I have ever had. She was professional, thorough, and focused. She was told by the receptionist where she needs to focus and she started right there. It was not just an oil rub! It was an amazing massage which incorporated hot stones, oil and deep tissue technique with methodical progression and whole body was addressd in one hour time. I have had numerous massages and many places but she outperformed all of them. I am thankful for the experience and will go back and sign up for a package deal. They do have a "tipping guideline"which is very reasonable and anyone who would get thia kind of service will be more than willing to tip them. In essence, I left very satisfied and relaxed. I've come here several times now for 1 hour massages and they've always been excellent! I love that you can point out the areas of focus and although I've had different masseuses each time they've been good. The price is reasonable and there is always availability. The only small negative is that the "rooms" are just partitions that don't go all the way to the ceiling, so you can hear everything happening outside. I wanted to love this place but after trying this place out twice for body massage and once for foot massage, it's a real hit or miss. Starting off with the body massage. - I like how you can mark up the sheet with areas you want additional focus and detail the strength - Overall the strength is pretty good, I typically ask for hard and focus on shoulders, neck, lower back, and foot - However, the foot massage is not really that great. It's a couple of strokes and moves on - you do get a more private room with two beds but you are required to be almost naked with just underwear on - the ceiling is open so when others are talking you can hear everything. That definitely ruined one of my experiences when someone in the room next to me was having a loud phone call as he was preparing for his massage. Would be great if the staff there can help control this and either ask the customer to take the call outside or in the bathroom. There are clear signs about noise but obviously there's always someone who thinks there call about moving boxes was so important. You know who you are. Don't be a Karen. Moving onto the foot massage. I found this to be subpar. If I started off with the foot massage as my first experience, I would have never came back. See notes below on why. - the chair was highly uncomfortable when I have to get my feet dipped into the bucket of water. As a short girl, the angle of the chair bends on my upper back. This can be remedied by adding more water to the bucket so my feet don't have to touch the bottom, putting a short stool under the bucket to raise the height, or offering a pillow to support my back. - the foot massage did nothing for me, I requested a hard massage but it was very light. I peeked my eyes open and I saw the rocking motion that correlates to the strokes but felt more like a foot rub than anything. - coming in with tired feet left me with tired feet still. I've been coming here consistently since around 2019-2020, and it had always been a great experience. I used to recommend this place to friends because the massages were consistently relaxing and therapeutic. I always requested the same type of massage and knew what to expect--until my most recent visit. This time, I left extremely disappointed and unfortunately won't be returning. I came in feeling fine, but left with intense soreness in my shoulder blades. For the majority of the session, all i got was an elbow was being pressed into my shoulder blades, with little to no variation in technique. No other area of my back got massaged. The rest of the massage consisted of dry rubbing and what felt like pinching on my neck and arms with no oil/lotion, which was uncomfortable and felt more like a rug burn. I ended up pulling my arm back because of the pain. The entire session felt choppy, unstructured, and honestly careless. While the pressure was definitely firm, I wouldn't consider it a proper massage. Instead of feeling relaxed, I was in pain and wondering the whole time if a massage would actually start. I selected Jenny since I saw a few reviews mentioning her. It is a no-frills massage place so you can hear voices and it won't have any additional amenities. But that's reflected in the price. That being said, this has been the only massage place where I asked for a light touch massage and I got it. I don't get massages to undo every knot I have, but to relax. I needed the stress relief from a light touch and this was perfect. I actually fell asleep at parts of the massage. She did some light reflexology so I had a comfortable stretch. The massage bed is heated so don't come inside super hot. You pay upfront and tip at the end. There's mini water bottles, soothing music, and a variety of massages to choose from. Also, if the vehicles honk then you can really hear it. In addition, there was a customer who was on his phone and talking loudly for a while. However, when we were done with our massage and was in the waiting area I asked my friend how was her massage and a guy worker popped out of the massaging room right in front of the waiting area and started knocking on the door and ssshhh us. I was shocked because his knock was a lot louder than us whispering. Came by the other night for a foot massage and it was a decent experience. Made a reservation a few days in advance via their website with an email confirmation but it appears that they weren't able to find my reservation upon arrival? Parking in the paved lot is available and there's an overflow unpaved lot for additional parking. Hand sanitizer was available throughout the massage parlor, including upon entry. Client registration and temperature logs were at the front desk to assist with contact tracing?!? Foot massage chairs were behind the partition in front of the front desk. Clients were placed 6 feet apart. The foot bath was quite warm and very nice. The head massage was strong, hitting on lots of pressure points! The arm massage was good too. The masseuse used gloves when massaging the feet and it was very good, hitting numerous pressure points. The last 10 minutes of the massage was a back, neck, and shoulder massage, fully clothed. $35/hour for a foot massage. read more

This is a long overdue review for Body Central Spa and their masseuse Alan. I have been going there for several years, from a recommendation by a friend. Although it is in a very unassuming building off of El Camino, it is a tiny oasis that once you walk in, you are removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is not a fancy spa with robes and frilly champagne drinks. Yet, if you're looking to treat yourself to a massage, this is definitely a place where you go to get your money's worth. It's comfortable, clean, and relaxing. Although the rooms are partitioned off without a ceiling, they keep the spa music going with nice soft lighting to put you in a relaxed mood. I've never had an issue with other customers being loud, but then again, I try and go during the weekday, when there may be less clients. I always get at least 90 min with Alan. I've been to many masseuses in my life, and he is by far one of the best (thought I probably shouldn't say so since I don't want his calendar to get too booked up!) He uses a deep touch, and knows where to massage me, even in places that I didn't know I needed. The best part is also getting a hot stone massage from him, which really works out all of the knots. It's one of those massages that once you're done, you feel 100% better. The staff is always nice and friendly.
