Let me start by saying Shirley's massage Studio is very peaceful with high ceilings, lovely decorative touches and is painted in soothing colors. The soft music she plays in the background is very relaxing. Shirley is petite, but very strong and her massage techniques really helped to work out some serious knots and kinks that I had been storing up in my body. I know she is trained in a variety of massage techniques, but I requested a 90 minute, very deep one & she delivered. Not only was the massage phenomenal, but the additional touches of hot stones, as well as hot towels used to soothe & then remove oils as she finished each area, we're unexpected and contributed to the lovely experience. My mom called to schedule the services and I called for more information about facials and recommendations for my eczema and sensitive skin. I found out the day we requested might not have an esthetician available, but Jenny and Tiffany texted us and really helped try to find a good time and day that would work. They figured out how to schedule both sets of services so they would work with just one esthetician and made it feel very smooth. I ended up getting the City Life facial with Kim plus the lymphatic drainage add on. She was wonderful!! From start to finish, I knew I was in great care. I also got a deep tissue massage with Sammy and she was just as wonderful. I left feeling incredibly relaxed and I know my sister did too. All of them simply do a light rub down and then immediately pin point my troubleshoots and get to work fixing them. I've had knots in my upper back, a pinched nerve in my glute, and a variety of aliments. They are able to figure out exactly the problem just by touch. It's amazing! And I don't have to deal with small talk when I'm there to try to get fixed up and am in a bad mood. But I always leave in a great mood! I also love how they have the tip suggestions posted based on time which makes it very easy to calculate especially since they are great at giving lots of good deals so it can be confusing calculating. One of my favorite things is that they accommodate last minute appointments. I find it very hard to schedule anything in advance. I consider this place an important need for my health, and am happy to be able to afford to come here and tip well without braking the bank. They have great prices and give deals if you purchase a package. Some parts are not the most fancy....but I'd much rather have massages that I can afford on a regular basis than go somewhere more pristine and only be able to go 1-2 times a year. After well over a few dozens or so massages here, it still continues to be one of my preferred and favorite local spas. Since returning to the area, I've seen Rola (I think it's spelled?) and Lulu. Rola gives a wonderful sports massage and really knows how to work out stubborn knots and tension. Her stretching techniques are still my favorite out of every massage therapist I've ever tried! I had been assigned Lulu when I wanted something more relaxing, and her Swedish massage was exactly what I was hoping for. It was very relaxing and her attentiveness helped melt all the stress away and lull my body into a restful nap. I recently overheard a different client expressing being upset with their massage because they chose Swedish but wanted much stronger pressure. So I think it's important to choose the right massage style, because the style isn't just different pressure levels, it's intended for a different type of relaxation. If you don't pick the right one, you won't get the effect you're after! That's my advice after many many therapeutic massages. Also from my understanding, the staff here matches you with a therapist based on what style you select. Whenever I've selected deep tissue or sports massage, I've never had an issue with not enough pressure and the therapist would be skilled at finding and resolving my knots and tight areas. And when I select Swedish (for when I'm sore or just wanting to relax and unwind), it's exactly the pressure level and technique patterns that my body needed. What keeps me coming back here is how personal my experience at this spa feels. I've been to larger spas all over the Bay Area but it just feels like I'm just another headcount for their schedule. I appreciate how the staff here has always been welcoming, professional, polite, and kind to me, and when I return to a therapist, they remember my preferences and sometimes even give me additional advice to help lessen the tension I put onto myself. That attentiveness is not something I've been able to get at bigger spas. Sorry for the long review! When it came to the manicure, it's actually a dry manicure, which I've never had before, nor have I ever heard of them! Let me tell you, there is such a thing as a dry manicure and I prefer this way better than a wet manicure. I have eczema, so I am very selective of nail salons and this was great! The different drill bits that Tracy used are to exfoliate the cuticles and around your nail bed, so minimal cutting/trimming is done. I made another appointment through their website for 07.13.26, again with Tracy, to have my gel manicure and gel pedicure removed and this time chose the combination classic manicure and classic pedicure. Basic treatments as before except for regular polish, not gel. Loved every minute of it! I would highly recommend this place! Convenient location. I decided to go back to my natural nails so I got an acrylic removal and a gel manicure. I can't state enough how impressed I was with their attention to detail during the entire experience. They did not rush through the process and took their time to paint on the nail design I requested. I sometimes don't have a ton to chat about but everyone was nice and let me sit quietly listening to the music and watching people queue on the boba line outside. I have been working with Jasmine for quite a few months now to rehab a somewhat serious and longstanding issue with my left upper thigh and hamstring muscles. As an avid older athlete and former bodybuilder I have over the years, experienced just about every form of massage and physical therapy imaginable. Its obvious that Jasmine knows her craft well and, is committed to great customer service. She is great at what she does and has helped me make progress in regaining the function and flexibility that I had lost. When my former massage therapist left the state, I had tried several new ones but none had really met my needs for serious therapy rather than just another feel-good massage. I really appreciate what Jasmine has done for the healing of my injury and getting rid of the regular pain and discomfort I was in. Jasmine is excellent and I will continue to use her for regular therapeutic maintenance once my longstanding issues are resolved. Highly recommended. read more

I had a massage with Kai before and had been referred by a longtime customer, but when I asked about the 3 prenatal massage package during my last massage less than 6 weeks ago, she did not say they had stopped honoring the prenatal package when I directly stated my intent to buy and schedule it. In my view, if a package is discontinued, it should not still be advertised with a booking button. Under California's consumer protection laws, including the California False Advertising Law (Business and Professions Code § 17500) and California Unfair Competition Law (Business and Professions Code § 17200): * Businesses generally may not advertise goods or services in a way that is likely to deceive a reasonable consumer. * Intent to deceive is not always required. Anyway, I eventually moved to the Peninsula, got a car, and went back to Carrina. She's amazing. One of my pet peeves is when massage therapists don't listen to what you actually need when you tell them and just do their normal routine. Carrina is refreshingly different because she actually listens to what you tell her when you explain what's happening and why you're there to see her, and she somehow magically finds and works out all the knots - even the ones I didn't know I had. The had a same day appointment and was able to adjust the time too from my initial booking. Annie did my massage and it was great. She was very nice and definitely relieved some of the knots I had. I have nothing but praise and respect for Annie. Not only is she super kind but she has lots of…read moreknowledge and wisdom regarding the body and she thoroughly worked on all my tight areas and knots during our 1.5 hr session. I explained to her that I have scoliosis and she knew exactly what areas to concentrate on without me having to tell or show her - not only that but she is STRONG for sure - this is the type of treatment that works on my body and may not work for others. As a client, I always voice when something is too deep to the point of pain but therapists do not know our threshold - it's important to be communicative during treatment. Some areas I couldn't tolerate so Annie moved on but in the areas that deep pressure was required - she spent more time on. Also - don't let the exterior fool you! The massage parlor is in an area that felt a little sketchy to me but as soon as I opened the doors, I was comfortable and super excited for the thai massage experience. Slept like a baby after the treatment and will definitely be back
