Excellent massage. Did 90 minutes. Highly recommended, and helped get me past some major soreness.

The location…read moreis right off of Burlingame Avenue, there is street, metered parking all around, or a parking lot right across the street. Keep in mind if you schedule your appointment on Sundays, parking is free! I received a gift certificate for a 1 hour Deep Tissue Massage. When it comes to gift certificates, you cannot book your service through their website, so I decided to go in person to make my appointment. The lady who helped me was super friendly and made me feel welcomed. It was highly recommended from the person who gifted me the gift certificate to either book with Wendy, due to her pressure of really getting in those tight areas, or May, who was also really great. It just so happened May was available for the time that worked for me. The spa is clean, May came to greet me right on time, she asked me if I had any area's I wanted her to focus on, and checked in on me multiple times throughout the massage to confirm her pressure was ok. I never felt so relaxed and so comfortable. I would definitely recommend booking with May for your next massage in Burlingame!

Review #012 - 2025…read more I've been seeing Claire every month since before COVID so I am extremely late in writing her this awesome review! Maybe I'm just being selfish because I don't want too many people to know about her and it'll be even harder for me to get an appointment. Claire is an expert in her field! She always makes me feel better after my massages. She listens to my concerns and addresses my sore spots! I definitely put her to work! So thankful that she has strong hands because I sit at my desk for hours on out and that causes a lot of knots and muscle tension! The funny thing is, we actually have so many fun conversations during my massage, that the time literally flies by. As soon as I leave, I am already looking forward to my next massage.

I waited a while for my initial dissatisfaction to pass before writing this review. I fully…read morerecognize the difficulty of running a business in the expensive Bay Area and respect that. I also really wanted to support a women-owned business. However, I also work hard for my money, and when I spend a good amount of it, take time off work to get issues addressed, and provide instructions, I do hope I'm listened to. That wasn't the case here, and I feel like Claire just went through her usual routine instead of focusing on the main area I identified prior to the session starting (significant pain in lower back tied to the quadratus lumborum, and my entire back in general was super tight). My latest back flareup lasted for two months and I needed some relief. I saw Claire bills herself as a medical massage place, so I booked a 90-min massage in the hopes that it would help and was really looking forward to it. Paid $255 (which included tip and CBD oil; I was desperate for pain relief). At this point, I'd to emphasize that Claire asked what areas I would like to focus on. I explained my back issue and said I'd like to focus most of the time on my back, with particular attention paid to my lower back. This was all before the session started. She also asked about modality preference. I said deep tissue. Pros: - The reception area was clean and welcoming, along with the massage room - There's plenty of parking in the lot - Claire seems to be really nice and has super strong hands *The not-positives* She spent 70% of the total time working on my traps. I do hold a lot of tension there, yes, but spending majority of time there was not what I was looking for. I had not mentioned my traps being an issue at all. Mid back? I just got what felt like a light back rub, maybe 5 min of what could be constituted as deep tissue. No relief there. Lower back? She barely touched it. She threw on a heating pad on that area and went to work on my legs instead. I asked if we could skip my legs and just focus on my back, and she assured me we have plenty of time to focus on my back. Then she finished with my legs and instructed me to flip over, and I was like wait, that's it?? I asked AGAIN that she work on my lower back a bit and she said ok, then spent maybe 10-15 min using a trigger point technique, which felt great...but again, she only spent that time on it AFTER I asked her, despite what I explained when I first arrived. She then had me flip over and started working on my traps and upper neck AGAIN, then started on the area where my lats would be (not sure what it's called). She told me it's a spot most therapists overlook and helps with lymphatic drainage. Fine, that's fair. In the end, I actually left worse than when I started. Had no relief anywhere I had asked for. Another massage therapist I had seen a month before who offers only 60-min massages spent more time on my back than Claire did. I won't be going back, and I honestly can't recommend Claire if you're looking for pain relief or mobility. It was a HUGE waste of my time and money, and I was worse off for it. Her approach is good for those looking for general relaxation but not pain relief.

This is my secret spa when I need total rejuvenation…read more I've come here after international trips to decompress from 15+ hour flights, and every time, it resets my entire nervous system. What stands out immediately is how curated the experience is from the moment you walk in. Even the names of the services feel intentional and aligned: there's a clear brand philosophy behind everything they do. The decor is thoughtful, not overwhelming, and once you enter the massage space, the experience becomes even more personalized. You first enter the sliding wooden doirs to a crystal grid, and the therapist actually takes the time to understand your body--areas of concern, areas to avoid--which is incredibly important. Not all massages are created equal. When a therapist works with your body instead of just applying routine techniques, the experience becomes far more effective. Afterward, you step into this walkway that feels like an evening on Malibu Beach--the sound of large ocean waves, the lighting, the atmosphere. It pulls you into the present moment in a way that feels intentional + ritualistic. Inside the room, everything is designed for comfort and immersion. The tables are warm, there's a soft white fur blanket, and even the smallest details are intentional: the cute tiny Tibetan bowls where you place your belongings. When you pick them up at the end, it creates this subtle, calming chime. It's those small nuances that make the experience feel iconic! Each massage therapist has their own artistry, but they all follow a unified philosophy. The use of essential oils, guided breathing, and the ambient sound of ocean waves creates a full sensory experience. At times, it genuinely feels like you're on a coastal retreat--there's even this subtle quality in the air that mimics that ocean freshness. Kinda like salt [reminds me of those himalayan salt rooms in jimjilbangs in Korea]. Even the restroom is clean, calming, and consistent with the overall experience. Usually a candle of their signature smell is lit...nothing feels like an afterthought. I've had massages all over the world, and this place is something special. It's not just about getting a massage--it's about the environment, the intention, and how your body is guided into relaxation. That level of care makes a difference. The staff is warm, some know me by name, and it always feels like I'm stepping into a space where healing is the priority: physically and for the nervous system. If you become a member, it's also much more reasonable to come regularly, which I highly recommend. This place is precise, intentional, and beautifully executed. I love it. My true oasis in The Bay Area.

I called the salon and the person I spoke with was unhelpful. I booked a massage with the understanding I would bring the gift certificate with me. A woman called me an hour before the massage and said my gift certificate would be honored. I arrived, the massage was fine, but after I was asked to pay and given the entire amount. I said I had a gift certificate. The receptionist said I know but we can't get the gift certificate to work. I said it was bought on your website and I had the email - from the salon - showing the gift certificate and amount ($150). The lady said what is your daughter's information, I need to figure out how she bought the gift certificate. I said she's 15. She bought the gift certificate on your webpage and I received an email - from your salon - telling me I had a $150 massage for your salon. The lady said okay, it's okay. You don't have to pay. I said, well I do because I spent $160 on a massage because of things I added and I also want to include a tip. So I'll pay the difference. The lady said okay. She said she'd charge my credit card the $10 difference plus what I wanted to leave as a tip. I thought all was well only to come home to see a charge for the entire cost of the massage plus the tip. They didn't honor the gift certificate which was from their website. I tell you, I go to have a massage for stress relief, but this place is SO stressful with the disorganization of the business. I was going to go again, but after all is said and done there is no way I'd ever go back again. They caused me stressed. I'll need to dispute the charge now with my credit card company. It was not worth it for all the stress. They have a membershio which I was thinking about joining but I won't now. I don't trust people who operate like this.
