Food was delicious but the service could have been better. But Janelle came to the rescue and was super sweet and met our needs! The crab tartar was amazing!!!! Definitely a must try after such a relaxing massage. FYI if you want a deep tissue massage I highly recommend Brian.

Relaxing and beautiful. You are seated right next to the courtyard of the spa. The service was great. The food was better than I expected. The mango quinoa lettuce cups were healthy and beyond fabulous! Tip make sure to have a Bellini.

Grilled chicken lettuce wraps (amazing) with raspberry thyme bellini and classic peach bellini in background

Beautiful setting, delicious food, reasonable prices for a spa cafe. The courtyard is beautifully landscaped and peaceful, with an herb garden where they grow herbs for the dishes. You can either take your lunch at tables in the courtyard right in front of the cafe, or by the pool (we opted for the latter since it was a gorgeous day) We shared the grilled chicken lettuce wrap, and it was amazing -- plenty of chicken breast, cooked perfectly, with carrots, cucumber, radish sprouts, on a big chunk of tender Bibb lettuce w/ the most amazing dressing/dipping sauce -- peanut, cilantro and ginger. I would love to get the recipe or try to replicate it. It came w/ 2 big wraps -- enough for my husband and I to share -- for just $15. They also have an assortment of bellinis -- we tried the classic w/ peach puree, the raspberry thyme (my favorite) and blood orange -- and they were all great, just $9 (as opposed to the $15 cocktails at the main splash pool). Noticed afterward that you can actually get an entire bottle of champage for $18 ($49 for Vueve Clicuot). You need to be a guest of the spa (have booked a massage or other service, or purchase a spa day pass) to eat at the Cafe, but if you're there, be sure to check it out.

Dined in a Friday around 5 pm. We were the only ones who were in the restaurant at the time. I chose the French dip while my husband chose the brisket sandwich (both off the specialty menu). We were asked what size we wanted - 4, 6, or 8 inch which was strange because the menu only lists one price. Ultimately I chose the 8 while my husband chose the 4. I think mine was a dollar more than the listed price while my husband's was a dollar less so it seems that the 8 inch is the best deal. Had he known this he probably would've chosen the 8 and taken some home. We also added on a drink for 3.49. With tax out total was just shy of 35 dollars which seemed a bit steep. Once we sat down and waited for our food we realized that we could have done a drink and a bag of chips for $3.99 instead of just the drink for for $3.49. I really wish the woman taking our order had guided us a bit more in the different options. I also noticed that there were items promoted that did not appear on the menu and price differences between the wall menu and the handheld menu. We are likely to try again but the prices won't have us rushing back.

When we first arrived, we noticed it had the same artsy, loft vibe & decor as the one in Las Vegas. At first glance it seemed like it had a small interior but then we noticed the stairs to get to a lower level to the left of us. This led to a very spacious room! Love the decor and the layout. There's more seating outdoors, which we attempted but it had too cold of a breeze so we decided to sit indoors. We were greeted warmly by a nice young man at the counter. My hubby told him we had eaten at the FC in Las Vegas and he told us he was going to train as a manager in Las Vegas. I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba Bowl and hubby ordered the Chicken Entree with brown rice and sweet potato fries with dip. We easily found a table in the lower level as there was hardly anybody down there. But, as the time progressed it became full with young soccer players and their respective families. Apparently, the soccer games ended in the nearby fields & they all descended upon FC. Our food came out quickly. I savored my Chicken Yakisoba Bowl chock full of crispy vegetables and flavorful chicken. It was huge so I had to take leftovers to go. My hubby loved his meal, too. We look forward to returning here where they serve delicious, healthy offerings and friendly customer service.

I have been…read moregoing since the days when they had a location in UTC, and now that the only San Diego metro spot is in Carlsbad, I still make the drive at least once a month. That alone should tell you where this is going. Veggie Grill offers a wide variety of fully vegan options in a fast casual setting. I am especially fond of the burgers and the protein plates, particularly the Beyond steak meal with broccoli and brown rice. The Beyond steak is a great addition to the menu. It's well seasoned, cooked just right, and has a satisfying texture that really hits the right note. The steak protein plate is a highly recommended choice. Another easy recommendation is the strawberry lemonade. It strikes a great balance, not too sweet and not too tart. Because they use real strawberries, it can be a bit thick, so I sometimes add a splash of water to lighten it up. Bottom line, Veggie Grill is a great option for both vegans and non vegans who want a satisfying plant based meal. Portions are solid, flavors are on point, and the quality is consistent across the board. Parking during peak lunch and dinner hours can be a bit of a challenge since the lot is shared with high traffic spots like Costco and its gas station. It can get busy. I have found that arriving shortly after they open around 11 AM makes for a much smoother experience with lighter traffic and easier parking.

I ordered the Crispy Organic Tofu plate with chimichurri sauce, which comes with two sides. I chose the buttery jalapeño corn and the pickled cucumber salad. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, even as someone who isn't vegan.

They have a very unique concept of renewable farming and sustainable gardening. There's plenty of indoor seating (the interior is lovely) and outdoor seating that integrates with the garden. The garden is available for customers to walk around. It's amazing to see how they've efficiently grown so much in a limited space. The Plot also has $5 plants you can purchase for home-gardening. Their eggplants are in season. Freshly harvested from the garden, I tried the panko crusted charcoal roasted eggplant - it was beautiful, delicious, creative and everything wonderful packed into a dish. It was topped with a very unique, naturally salty plant called the asparagus of the sea (I've literally never had it anywhere else besides here). I also tried the c word (which is wine braised cabbage), the beet ruben sandwich, and the mushroom toast. Everything was SO GOOD! The service is also on another level. I felt genuine kindness and happiness exuding from the staff. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right. I was a bit sad to see that it wasn't bustling on a Sunday brunch. I love that they get some of their food from their own on-site garden. They also source locally for a lot of their other food. And they compost leftovers for the garden, which is something you can do more easily when all your food is plant-based. I've had a few different servers and they've all been very friendly professional. Everyone seems very relaxed and like they enjoy their work. The atmosphere itself is also very laid back and unpretentious, but classy. That's what makes it a great lunch spot, but also a fine date night. Hope this place becomes an Oceanside staple.
