What a cool place! Not just farm to table, on sight garden to table. The food is fantastic, fresh as fresh can be and healthy. We loved our waiter, Matt. He was attentive, funny and charming. He explained that ingredients are sourced from their garden as well as other local gardens. That was the other thing, we had a chance to walk around and enjoy the garden spaces after dinner. Built in entertainment for fellow gardeners. They even sell plants. One of the spaces is even a neighborhood garden for the public. How awesome is that?

What an amazing experience! This place is absolutely incredible. Whether you are vegan or not, you're in for a real treat. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is exceptional, and the service is over the top. The chef prepares you for the meal ahead with a complimentary amuse-bouche. Fancy and tasty! We had the Chronic Roll and Pickle Party to start. I still can't get over how delicious the Chronic was! For our entrees, we chose the Meatless Loaf and the Chicken Schwarma. Mouthwateringly good! It tastes fresh and healthy and delicious all at once. We can't wait to go back!

I really loved the meal I had here. First impression of the place was getting seated outside next to the garden where many of their ingredients come from which was pretty cool. Then our server brought us a small complimentary appetizer, I forget what he called it but it was avocado and beet and it was yummy. Our server was super friendly, and on his recommendation I ordered the risotto for my entree which was absolutely delicious. It was very unique, it was like a block of risotto that was deep fried so it was super crispy on the outside but still creamy on the inside. I also tried a bit of my friend's fried tofu and cornbread which were also really good, especially the cornbread which had a really interesting sweetness and was made from blue corn which I have never seen used for cornbread before. The menu is slightly on the pricier side but the ingredients are really fresh and the food is actually spectacularly well done. Menu is entirely vegan, and very ingredient forward, rotating seasonally. Would love to come back for lunch or brunch as they have many items that are not on the dinner menu.

I came here with some friends for lunch, all with varying diets (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free) and The Plot had so many options for each of us! We couldn't decide on just one thing, so we ordered multiple plates and shared and that was by far the best way to go! My favorite thing was the pancake, but truly everything was incredibly tasty and beautifully prepared. All the servers were also very friendly and welcoming! We sat on the patio, which was so cute and comfortable. They have a garden in the back where they source many of their ingredients which I thought was so neat! They have a pretty big drink selection as well, which we didn't partake in this time, but I can't wait to come back and try more of what The Plot has to offer!

Plantscape was great! It was cool to see the chefs preparing the food live. Such creativity and love put into this event. Nice music in background from dj. Service was great and everyone was pleasant. Wonderful to eat outdoors surrounded by garden and fresh veggies.

I have been wanting to check out The Plot for brunch with some friends and I am so glad we finally did. Everyone at the table was quite impressed with their food. Really cool vegan spot! I ordered the breakfast bowl and I really loved it. It was flavorful, filling, and felt fresh and balanced. It is definitely something I would order again. I also tried one of their sandwiches and it just was not my favorite. It was fine, just not as exciting as the other dishes we had. The meat substitute was quite mushy and had no texture nor much flavor. The mushroom coffee was surprisingly nice. It tasted more like hot chocolate than coffee. The pancakes were delightful and fluffy. We also ordered the french fries with the beet sauce and I really liked that combination. The sauce added something unique and tasty. Overall it was a cute brunch spot and a nice place to catch up with friends. Will definitely be coming back to try out their dinner menu.

Went here to celebrate my brothers birthday, and it was great! Our family has a variety of vegetarians, so we know good plant based food when we taste and see it :) Service was quick, hip, and I love the ambiance and interior decor of this place. Super refined. Food was also delicious, but I would say it's hard to share here, so please be aware if you bring a big party. Definitely a good choice for a date night or for a group of 4 :)

I don't do too much vegan food, but The Plot was a pleasant surprise. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I went with the shakshuka and it was pretty good. It was very flavorful and the bread it was served with was also great. My wife got the breakfast bowl while everything tasted good, the flavors didn't seem to mesh very well. The ambiance is pretty casual and you can walk around the garden they pick their vegetables from, which is pretty neat.

Notes from last night's experience: - Plot = Parking Lot. They have one! - Street parking also wasn't too bad. - Artifex Brewing Company is within walking distance. - Green Cheek Brewing Company is within driving distance. - Cocktails are soju-based. - Regular menu has some nice items, but the seasonal tasting menu knocks it out of the park. We should come here four times a year. - Look for specials in December that they throw in when you spend $100 on a gift card. In 2025, it was a free tasting dinner. We are lucky to have The Plot. I don't care what your diet is, you owe it to yourself to check them out.

The Plot is such an awesome vegetarian restaurant. Fun fact it is the sister restaurant to Wrench & Rodent! I've come here a few times and everything has been a standout. My personal favorite has been the VG crunchwrap supreme it is sooooo good! I recently tried the coffee and have been dreaming about it too. They brought out a cute little cake for my birthday which was so sweet. Definitely would recommend this spot for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike!

This was my first time going here. A little spur of the moment as we looked for a local restaurant. The space is very cute and unique. Although that doesn't matter much if the food is over a priced or poor quality. Luckily the food was all fantastic. There wasn't a single item I didn't like, and since I got a preset fixed menu of five courses, I was able to taste a large variety. I even took a nibble from some shared appetizers for the table and my kids food. The kids were not a big fan, but that is kind of to be expected. I suspect that they were also just tired from a long day. I would absolutely go back the next time I am in town. The food was a little bit on the pricier side, but considering the quality of the ingredients and the uniqueness of the meals, it was well worth it. Not a place I would go every day but absolutely perfect for a treat or date night.

I am starting to really like Oceanside. I am not a vegan but love vegan food if it is made right. I am so impressed with this place. The must have... was the fries!!! O...M...Geeeee! Service here is phenomenal. We sat outside and the place was beautiful next to the garden. I recommend this place to anyone. You will not be disappointed!

    Madeline S.

I LOVE The Plot SO much! I previously went to their location in Costa Mesa for dinner, and had a great experience too. I believe Oceanside is their flagship location, and it was truly magical! When you pull up, you'll see a giant mural behind the building that is absolutely beautiful. Then, you'll notice all the fresh herbs and veggies they grow themselves. This is a true farm to table experience. I was really impressed by how large this location is inside as well as on their patio. Plus, I really enjoyed the decor and attention the detail. I ordered the panko crusted eggplant, and the carrotfish tacos. While the tacos were good, the eggplant was out of this world and filled with so much flavor. We finished off our lunch with the banana bread and wow...I want the recipe. The vanilla 'cream' - made with a coconut base was so creamy and delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better lunch. The service was great too. And, I love the fact that they do offer cooking classes, tasting menu nights, and more! I'm hoping they'll do a gardening class one day too. Can't wait to come back soon!

Can we order from the dinner menu during weekend brunch times?

Hello, do you use dairy products in your facility?

    No! We are totally vegan!

Are there any Whole30 compliant dishes? Coming to the area this weekend and hoping to maybe try something here!

The menu is ALL vegan. (Just correcting the prior answer that said it's vegetarian with vegan options.)

My husband and I stopped in to Frankie's on a recent Saturday at 5pm. Our kiddo had a performance down the street at 6pm so we had a little time to kill beforehand. The neighboring spots looked busy so we decided to go with Frankie's, seeing as they were less inundated at the time and we had a time constraint. Another allure was the sandwich board at the front door advertising discounted cocktails - sold!! Inside there were a handful of patrons at the bar, another table with two additional patrons and maybe a couple on the patio so it was fairly quiet and slow, so it looked promising. We headed up to the bar and hung out behind two empty barstools, the single female bartender greeted us and said she'd be right with us, but then continued chatting up the seated patrons, serving them and their friends that had just joined (AFTER we'd arrived). We moved a little further down to the handoff area where she was making drinks to save her having to come back to us again, and stood there for probably 10 minutes while she took orders and made all the drinks. We commented that she looked like she could definitely use a hand, and she said they were still adjusting into summer hours and determining whether more coverage was needed at this time - I figured 5pm on a Saturday should be primetime, so I'm not sure in what universe having a single bartender makes any sense. Finally we placed our cocktail orders, waited while they were made, and then put our card down for the tab. After we'd paid, I noticed the cocktails were more expensive than advertised on the sandwich board out front - I couldn't find a disclaimer anywhere that said only certain cocktails were included, so while it was a bummer I wasn't about to wait another 10-15 minutes to catch her attention and ask for clarification. Just a heads up to beware of whatever is advertised that might summon you in from the sidewalk, and make sure you ask before you make your selection. Drinks were very subpar, nothing special to write home about. While I can appreciate the Gatsby-esque vibe they're trying to uphold at Frankie's, they really should increase their staffing especially during prime weekend and evening hours, and be more transparent about their specials and what's included and what's not. Hindsight is 20/20, and the low volume of patrons when everything else around it was going off was probably a sign, so we'll skip Frankie's our next go around.
