I'm disappointed. I came in today as a walk-in to get a simple manicure. I needed a gel removal prior to my manicure. My technician was nice and I gave her the benefit of the doubt (I've seen her face for years), but she didn't allow my nails to sit in acetone before removal. She just used her tool to remove and start cleaning and prepping (that was the first red flag). It was standard procedure until the polish application. It was thick and just applied on without much thought. The clear coat was carelessly applied, causing bubbles and gave it a lumpy look. I know technicians work hard and I wanted to be respectful, but I wasn't satisfied and this wasn't a quality experience. When I came back to ask for redo, the application was still done without much thought or care. I could see through the technicians light that it was still uneven thick applications. It was a rushed process and it made me feel like I was the inconvenience when I paid and even tipped. There is still polish on my skin/under my nails and uneven application. Please take the time with your clients or let them know you don't have the time to fit in a manicure. read more

Being the closest nail salon from my home, I've gone here quite frequently out of convenience in the last several months since my move into the neighborhood. As a walk-in wait time has been minimal, even on the weekends. Color choices seem limited as I have struggled each time to find one of my liking. Their polish wall does include matching sets of gel & basic, which is helpful. Each nail tech has always been helpful & pleasant to pass the time with. Pricing is average for the area with similar set-up. It's the quality that falls subpar to my expectation. Polish has minor imperfections, but enough to annoy me & my last 2 acrylic fills haven't even lasted a week without needing a 'fix'. I wouldn't recommend this salon, but wouldn't necessarily avoid it either. read more

First and foremost, the professionalism I experienced here was unacceptable. I'm a pretty laid back person and definitely don't have any problem with the technicians carrying on with conversations or whatever while they're doing my nails. Tonight the lady doing my nails was literally shouting across the room the entire 45 minutes I was there. Not only that, but every time she responded to the other woman, she would turn and have full out conversations for about a minute in between painting each finger. It wasn't because we were waiting on them to dry either, she just decided her conversation was obviously more important than the customer waiting on her. I would even move my hand a bit after 30 seconds as a reminder that I was still there but that didn't bother her at all as she continued on. Second of all, I have been trying to grow my nails out after taking off my last acrylics. Two of my own nails had broken but I figured getting a gel manicure would save the rest and keep them looking nice and long. She told me that to make them all even I need to cut them all down. I said I didn't care if they were uneven (it was only my pinkies that were broken) and she she brushed it off and continued to cut all my nails down anyway. So really it wasn't about what I wanted at all. I was not shy about what I wanted and she knew I was unsatisfied with what she was doing but she just didn't care. I went in last weekend for a pedicure and a SNS powder manicure. The manicurist used a drill to remove my current polish instead of cotton in acetone wrapped in aluminum foil. She kept filing my nails until I was in pain. When she brought the colors I chose a burgundy color, she proceeded to polish my nails in pink then drilled them again! The pedicure was fine but as my toes were drying, she left for a long time. I had to get someone to find her but she had forgotten about me and had left out the back door. The very next day one nail broke, a couple of days later another one broke. As of today half are broken and two are painfully deep. If you go there, don't go to Vy! read more

Came in for dip nails. 1. Did not have color and had to pick another color because they "couldn't find it" 2. Proceeded to use dirty tools to remove my previous dip 3. Left my hands in bags with acetone for "10 mins" and walked to back for over 10 mins until my hands were burning. 4. Then aggressively filed my nails. Do not come here my hands are sore. Place is decent for a local nail salon. I've used Kim and Maryann who both are decent. They do a great job at cuticle trimming, and a clean pedi, but they're awful at ensuring all my fingernails are the same length and shape. Because it takes them several tries to figure out the shape and length correctly, my nails end up being shorter than I wanted b/c they have to file down to even it all out. They also move so quickly when they get busy, they rush. I make an appointment, give me my time and don't rush through - quality matters. Also, get some new nail polish! I've been coming in on and off for 2 years, and the same polishes are around still. It was really sad on their part - one time my mom went and chose a color that kept showing up lighter on her nails compared to the bottle regardless how many coats they put on. After calling 2 other nail places in the area that had long waits/didn't give clear answers, I called Spa Nails to check their availability for two pedicures. They said there was no wait and we could come now. We showed up a few minutes later and true to their word, they seated us and got started immediately, despite the rest of their salon being packed. Upon entering and seeing the busyness on a Saturday, I thought it was another nail place that lies to you about wait times, so it was a nice surprise to be taken care of so soon! Tiffany, my technician was superb, very detailed and asked how I wanted my nails - wasn't pushy at all and didn't try to offer me anything I didn't need. I wish she spent a bit more time scrubbing the bottom of my feet, but also didn't really notice until I was all done so couldn't have asked her earlier. The regular polishes have several repeats of the same color which is frustrating. I'd recommend bringing your own color if you have a particular shade in mind (such as black, which they had only one of). My pedicure was done well, but she hacked at my cuticles rather than clipping them slowly and this was painful. Not the best customer service; they had bottled water but didn't offer it, also no usual pleasantries one is used to in a nail salon. And, they prefilled the pedicure basins. I'm certain they were clean, but the water was luke warm and not comfortable. I had to tell her to add hot water. I was planning on getting my fingernails done, but changed my mind. I hate when my cuticles get peel-y and my nails just are not done correctly. I will not be returning. There are better places in the area with similar prices and some extra perks. read more

I started going to Spa 1 Nails a few months ago because the other salon I went to just got too busy to let the "regulars" have their appointments. I walked in and Helen was the one who took of my pedi and mani. She did such an amazing job that I decided to stay with Spa 1 and Helen. She always takes her time and makes sure that you are comfortable and that you are happy with her work. She is really sweet and friendly. There should be a zero rating. I went to Spa One three times. First two times were okay. But OMG did I get the worst manicurist I have ever had in 15+ years of getting nail tips. Here is just one example. My cuticle looks diseased. The shape is supposed to be flat with slightly rounded corners - French. I said it at least 15 times. I got so frustrated that I filed one nail to demonstrate to the lady. Notice the placement of the tips on my thumbs (see pic) - one is midway over the nail bed and it is laid crooked. The other is closer to my fingertip but still too far down on the nail bed. Look at the shape. All of my nails looked like this. Plus it took 1 hour 45 minutes for THIS! I usually get a full set in 45-60 minutes. The tips are supposed to be white. I had to file my nails and polish over with a color. read more

She really tried to do her best and I don't want her to lose her job, so I won't mention any names. I wasn't too fond of the way she shaped my toe nails. The shop overall looks decent when it comes to cleanliness. However, I noticed that the scrubbing stone was simply rinsed after the job in the same water where I still had my feet soaking. It was then placed back into the drawer, waiting for the next customer. Hmmm... I'm not coming back for a pedicure. The tub didn't look as clean as I expected. The massage chair was old, but did a good job. I guess it's a standard that tip can't be paid by credit card - Cash Only. My conclusion - my search continues for a better nail place near home. I needed a gel manicure and I usually go to Red Door, but seeing as how I was in a hurry and this place is next to my house, I thought it would be convenient. Not impressed. The tech was rude, would throw my hand back at me and was extremely rough. She grunted directions at me and then at one point started talking on her cell phone. The thing that annoyed me most was I told her to keep my nails long. Specifically no trimming, just file at the most. Well she went to town with the nail file and shortened the length down to nothing. I am extremely annoyed. With 3 coats of gel polish, the coverage in their polishes is still lacking. The UV nail tray was so hot I burned my fingertips more than once at her lack of direction. I'll stick to Red Door. read more
