Worst manicure and pedicure I've ever gotten!! Not even 2-days the pedicure polish was already coming off so basically my nails were ruined before my trip even started! Smdh especially the nail polish and I know I maybe should have tried the dip polish on my hands, but I wasn't trying to be paying too much money. So I decided to get French on both and yeah that didn't work out! Then how she shaped my nails was ridiculous...here is the end results! Should have just put on press instructions and called it a day! Hell they look and at-least will last a week with no polish coming off beforehand! I used to like this place back in 2011-2013 when I first lived in Woodbridge area. When I moved back here in 2020 I noticed that quality of service went down and prices went up quite a bit. One day I got a pedi done with paraffin bath, next time I come in and ask for the same service, they don't do it and when asked, tell me it is extra now. I never use nail polish on my feet and one time they use just buffing nail file, but when I come in next time, they tell me it is extra $5 (!?!), wth?? And they also only take tips in cash or venmo and add this "processing fee" on top of the service price. Disappointed. read more

I've come here the past couple times since she left and I will not call out the specific person, but I paid for wax services about three times now and every time I leave I noticed that there was still significant hair left on my eyebrows, and they had not been cleaned up well. After moving to the area a year ago, I've been searching for a good nail spot. I was disappointed a couple times with other places but I took a chance on Matrix Nails...and I am so happy that I did! They had their grand opening apparently a couple weeks ago according to the banners outside. It is bright and clean. Being in the hospitality business, I was particularly looking for good service and I'm happy to report that I found it. I was greeted within 2 seconds of walking in the door and they took me right away. Huong, B, and Nina treated me like a queen. They offered beverages and were very professional yet super friendly. B removed my acrylic (that I got from another nail place which I was not so pleased with) smoothly and Nina did a fantastic job with my gel mani & the Milk and Honey pedi. Service makes or breaks a place in my opinion, especially being a mom of two 2yr old twins and I need my "alone time" haha. Anyways - I was blown away and I will be back in 2 weeks! :) read more

I've been thinking about writing this review for months because of how friendly the staff is here but after my last pedicure and manicure, I had to share my experience with potential other new clients/customers. The nail salon is conveniently located right of the PWP near 95. As a few other folks wrote in their reviews, the first thing you notice right away is the lack of cleanliness of the establishment. "Hello Kitty" as many have affectionately called chain smokes and sometimes smells like an ashtray. She will sometimes break between clients to take a few puffs of her cigarette outside, coming back inside without washing her hands. Although she is very sweet and nice, I feel that there is no standard of cleanliness here and it really bothers me. About 3 weeks ago I had a spa pedi. I had to ask twice if the tub was cleaned because it looked disgusting. A thick line of soap scum caked on the base of the tub looked like it was freshly used without cleaning afterward. The gentleman finally cleaned it after I asked him to disinfect it for me. After soaking my feet for a little bit, the gentleman was working on another customer's toes. He just finished painting them and slides over to my station and starts working on my feet before even washing his hands with soap and water. I was so grossed out. I asked him to wash his hands. He got up quietly and did. The waxing station is simply an old massage table converted to a waxing table. There are a few white towels on top of the plastic covering most of the table. There are huge chunks of dried up wax with hair on the edges of the towels. Clearly not washed or sanitized before each client. Just don't do it, folks. It's not worth a skin infection, staph infection, or anything along those lines. If you do decide to check this place out, don't hesitate to ask them to frequently wash their hands before and after your treatment. read more

I go to Matrix regularly and get the best pedicures from Annie and her brother. Her staff are always courteous, and know what they're doing. I've been a client for probably seven years, and always hate when I'm in a rush and need to go somewhere else for an eyebrow wax. AWESOME job on my gel manicure! The tech took his time to make sure they were smoothly applied instead of a lot of places who rush and you end up with blobs at the tip of your nail. I had the spa manicure and when I mentioned one on my hand has been especially sore from computer work he did extra massaging on that hand for me. This place is absolutely disgusting. I came in to get a pedicure, manicure, and my eyebrows waxed.. You can tell that they don't clean the pedicure tubs. There is literally dead skin floating in the water from other peoples feet while you are getting a pedicure. As for the manicure the owner rushed through my manicure and scraped the top layer of my nails off. My nails are now extremely thin and breaking. She waxed my eyebrows in about 2 minutes and left lots of hair that should've been waxed. Never coming here again.. read more

Ok...I use to luv coming here, because the owner Annie is so nice & friendly. When I first started coming, they had several workers working there. Another guy use to do my nails & he done a great job!! Lately when I've been going, it's just Annie & her brother. So her brother started doing my nails. I have been very disappointed with his work. He goes too fast...my nails are done totally almost in 30mins. He doesn't put enough bond on the nail before he adds the acrylic and when he's finish, he don't put oil on your cuticles before you wash your hands. I had about three incidents where after a week the acrylic was coming off the nailbed and one of my nails actually had a little bit of mold underneath from where water was getting in through the lifted acrylic. After that I stopped going. I felt that they are in such a rush to get your nails done because it's only two of them working, to where they are not doing your nails properly. I've watched that salon go from really busy to almost no customers are hardly in there. Hmmm....probably from the rush job and poor service that they've been receiving. It's too many nail salon competition in the area to deal with poor service. Oh well I've taken my business elsewhere and will not be returning....One more customer bites the dust!!! read more

I went two days ago to get a dip manicure and had a woman do my nails. She seemed rushed while doing my nails and now two days later the top coat has started peeling off. On top of that she didn't get all the edges of my nails and they look thick and chunky. And after talking to a friend that goes there said she overcharged me. I definitely won't be back and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Will never come here again so annoyed I wasted my money. I came in for a pedicure and added on a callus treatment. I sat down in my chair and she proceeded with the service. When it came time for the callus portion she pulled out a pedicure razor. This was the first time one had been used on me, the salons I have gone to previously used a gel/cream. It did not hurt or anything. Once I was done drying I paid and when home. The problems with the service were evident about 5 days later. I noticed some of my nails were matte which means she did not put clear polish on some of them. Because of this a lot of my nails were chipping in about 5 days vs the normal 12-14. The worst part was that the inside heel of my left I have thick calluses that I did not have before. I am back to looking for a regular nail salon. read more

I was not happy with the service I received there. There are only two people working at that shop. Shop was not clean at all!! She tried to tell me I was wearing gel polish when I was 100 % sure that I wasn't! She insisted on me getting gel polish which I decided to give it a try! My nails were lifting and falling apart three days later! Mind you I don't do dishes without wearing gloves so I knew it had to be the quality of her work and product! I've been wanting to write a review so others know what to expect. It is an OK experience for the price, manicures are a little cheaper than other places. Annie is so nice and very personable, However they are always understaffed and I think it is because they are too cheap to hire any other staff to help out. Always such a wait during peak hours because there is only two of them. Also, all their nail polish is old and outdated and discolored basically. I suggested to them that they revamp their collection and get OPI Infinite Shine colors, and they said it's too expensive, I suggested doing an additional charge of $3-5 for people that use it, to cover the cost of the nail polish they still said too expensive. Any maintenance work that needs to be done, they do it themselves, such as repainting because they are too cheap to hire someone to do it. They are all in all, very cheap with their upkeepings and not sanitary. They need to update their collection, and whenever I get a manicure, the base coat they use (no name brand) breaks my nails. If you do go there, the brother, "B" does a great job at cleaning, however, again they are not too sanitary and it smells of cigarettes. I would suggest spending the extra $5 at another place. read more

This place is horrible, I went there and now I have an infection in my toes from the pedicure she gave me, also I saw that she used for my friend and old rag for the waxing of her eyebrows which she took out of the trash and used the other side from someone else. just nasty!!! I had to go to the doctor and now I'm in pain medicine so I am able to walk and on antibiotics. Unless u want to get a pedicure with dirty supply and end up with a very painful infection DO NOT GO THERE!!! read more

I sincerely wanted to like this place since its conveniently located near my house and work. I received a gel manicure, eyelash extensions, and a eyebrow wax during my visit. Although I am in love with the the eyebrow wax and extensions, the manicure failed to meet my expectations. Not even 24 hours after the service, the paint on both of my thumb nails began to chip and peel. They seem to be low on staff, luckily I walked in at the perfect time so my wait was only about 15 minutes. Customers that walked in after me was told that the wait would be 35-45 minutes. There were only 2 people working in the entire shop! Kitty, which i believe is also the owner, is very nice but I felt that her services were very rushed and her conversations where at times inappropriate and off putting. She tells her customers that "you get what you pay for" and she seems to be very money hungry. Overall I think I will visit this location again if I am in a pinch. If you are looking for a place where your want to relax and unwind, i suggest going elsewhere. After your wait, when you are receiving services it will feel rough and rushed. On the other hand, if you are willing to risk a long waiting period and mediocre quality service feel free to try. read more

"Hello Kitty" was the only employee there. she was friendly, professional and did a great job! Called to see if I could get a fill and pedi, and she said sure, come on in! "B" (I think that's what he said his name was) started my nails. He insisted that I was wearing gel polish, and I had to tell him multiple times that it was NOT gel! Finally, he took the polish off with the regular acetone. Did the acrylic fill and on to the pedicure chair. Pedi was ok, except when it was time to polish both fingers and toes. My toes were polished and then my flip flops were put on after, resulting in the polish being messed up on the big toes. Re-polished, and then proceeded to "fan" dry my toes with a folded up piece of paper! For my fingernails, I remained seated in the pedi chair while my hands were placed to the side of me (in the air, not resting on anything) and this is how my polish was applied! I never got to sit under the light/fan to dry my hands or feet. When I asked about it, he just said "stay right here for 10 minutes". When I left my nails/pedi were not dry, and by the time I reached my destination, my nails were ruined!!! Maybe they were eager to leave, as the close at 8, but I was there at 6:30 with no other clients. I was so upset that I went home and removed the "mess" from my fingers and toes! Will not go to this salon again. Waste of my $$. read more

The color I wanted was super tricky to apply so he worked very hard & careful to make sure it came out perfect! He kept saying "If its not right I will take it off and start over".
