came across this place thanks to a card that was left on my car in the Walmart parking lot a few weeks back. Thought maybe I should check it out. I called ahead to make an appointment at 1:30pm and was greeted and sat right away when I arrived. I picked the sea salt pedicure and the service seemed to skip a part of the cuticle care, past experiences I've witnessed salons add a paste like product... this place didn't. otherwise it all seemed well done. My only complaint was that it was very rushed. The employee kept looking back at the clock, and made a phone call. My whole pedicure was not even 20minutes long. By 1:50pm I was already sitting at the drying chair . Never had I ever experienced a pedicure this fast. I guess if you're tight on time this is the place, but as for someone who has pedicures for self care, and wants to enjoy her time. This was not it. My absolute favorite nail spot. I use to work in Arlington/ Crystal City area and would get my nails done here, but I live about 30-40 minutes away, and it's worth the drive, let me tell you. Tracy and David are the best! They're compassionate and really take their time to make sure my nails look good. We just bought our home in this area about a month ago and I was in desperate need of some TLC... I stopped by there today on a whim.... and I can't begin to sing their praises loud enough! Christine did my mani/pedi/gel nails and I have not been this happy with the quality of work in years! She was so professional and personable (and that's a rarity in some nail salons). She recommended the perfect color for what I was looking for --- she truly got it all right the first time around! A day or two after purchasing my home, I stopped by a local wax place to get my eyebrows done and left in tears after realizing my eyebrows had been butchered. You can never trust a person with bad eyebrows -- and let me tell you, I was truly untrustworthy. So, after four weeks of growing them out, I asked to have my eyebrows (and lip) waxed after Christine finished my pedi/nails. I don't remember the lady's name that did my waxing -- but I swear, I almost kissed her when she was done. My eyebrows were pure perfection! I left The nail salon feeling like a brand new woman! This visit i would give 5 stars, I am only giving 4 stars because I was not pleased with my first visit when the man did my nails (sorry I don't know their names). She came on a little strong (i see why some comments say that they are rude but i think it depends on your personality as well. although she came on strong she later started laughing and was very nice). I visited Color Nails for the first time this week. The staff is friendly and the prices were reasonable but I have a few problems with this place. The shop is dirty and dingy which gives you bad vibes as soon as you walk in-- I'm talking Amazon boxes along the wall, messy magazine stand, old paint, etc. I walked in with only 45 minutes for a gel manicure with a soak off so I asked if it was possible before sitting down. I even offered to come back if they were busy or unable to finish within 45 minutes. The man who seemed to be the owner said it would be no problem and directed me to take a seat. All the technicians were occupied so I sat there for another 5 minutes before he instructed one of the occupied techs to soak off my nails. The instructed tech did not soak off my nails so the man himself came to my table and soaked my nails. After around 10 minutes, another man came to work on my nails (and I really wish he hadn't). He cut, filed, and pushed my nails before cutting my cuticles. Somewhere in the process my nail bed started to bleed a little bit and he didn't understand what I was saying when I said that to him. It was a bit frustrating trying to communicate what I needed and what was going on because he would just respond by staring at me. By the time he was done cutting my cuticles, my 45 minutes were up and I had to run to work. The owner said that I could come back to finish up tomorrow and put a base coat on my nails because they were weak from all the acetone and filing. Other nail salons charge me before I make the second trip but he told me to come and pay when I come back which was really nice. I came back the second day and the same man whom I couldn't communicate with finished up my nails. I pointed to the bleeding cuticle and asked if he could be careful and he proceeded to touch the spot and made a pouty face. He buffed my nails and finished up my manicure which came out a little uneven (which is another thing I pointed out to the man with no avail- he looked at it and touched it). His hands were also very rough which was unpleasant when he gave the hand massage at the end. Instead of lotion, they seem to use a tiny bit of coconut oil. The way they take out the oil from the jar with their finger seems unsanitary and for someone with rough hands, the oil doesn't provide enough moisture to give a pleasant massage. Please hire people who can communicate with your customers and train them so they can provide high quality service. I did enjoy the Netflix shows/movies they had on the TV and the owner was very nice. Next time, I'll have to request for him and leave another review. read more

I went in there for a manicure as well but I left instead. My toes look horrible. I should have never cheated on my regular nail salon. I feel very torn about this review. I used to come to color nails all the time when I worked at Pet Supplies Plus. 1st time was out of convenience, I can walk down after work and be done with it, but then I kept coming back cuz they always did such a great job and the owner is a delight. I moved to Woodbridge back in August so I havent been back in a while until today. I was in town and decided to swing by my favorite salon for a pedicure and eyebrow wax. Unfortunately I really wish I hadnt. The pedicure chair they sat me at didnt look clean. There was old tea left on the arm rest from the previous customer and there was a towel draped over the tub. The lady tossed the towel aside and put a new one down then told me to sit. She didn't put plastic in the tub or remove the old cup of tea that was sitting there, I wouldnt be surprised if the tub wasnt even cleaned before I sat down. If I get a fungal infection at least ill know where it came from! Not to mention the tools that were used werent even pulled out of a sanitized container or sealed bag, they were just thrown in a drawer and when she was done she rinsed them in my tub water then put them back in the drawer. Do they sanitize them between clients? I dont know. The lady that worked on me, i had never seen before and I do not know her name, but she was really rough on my toes and made me bleed. She said sorry but then kept digging at the same spot. Ur obviously not sorry if ur gonna keep doing it! I was about to get up out the chair and leave but unfortunately i chose to stay and bare through it. I asked her for a gold shamrock so she tried painting my toes gold. I said no i only want the shamrock gold and showed her a nail art picture of a shamrock on a toe. She still didnt understand. I spent 5 mins trying to communicate with her and finally she said "I dont know how to do design" ok fine wutever, I was really disappointed cuz that was my whole purpose was to get my toes done for St. Patrick's Day. Then came the eyebrow wax. She dropped wax in my hair and didnt even bother to try to clean it or get it out. All she said was "oh no" then kept waxing my eyebrows. When I got to my car I saw my eyebrows were bleeding, covered in oil, uneven, and untrimmed. So I spent 30 mins fixing my eyebrows, evening them up and trimming them. So basically I did my own eyebrows and paid her $10 to drop wax in my hair and spread oil on me. Smh. I understand that everyone is human and makes mistakes but at least try and fix your mistake instead of just leaving wax in my hair! I hate to leave a bad review cuz like I said I used to come here all the time and it's always been great and I love the owner but I just dont know wut happened in the last 7 months since I been gone. I'm very conflicted on if I will come back here or not, does 1 bad outweigh all the good? I know 1 thing, if I do come back and I see that lady working I will not allow her to service me! I'm not entirely sure why I even tipped her, but I did. I am always willing to try new places and decided to give this place a try. On first impression it seemed like a nice place with lots of color options and friendly staff. Once I sat down with my nail tech, she was more worried about her phone. About 5 minutes in she put her head phones in and starting streaming a show on her phone. Extremely rude. She did not fill in my nails completely but when I mentioned it to her, she told me the color cuts in and its supposed to be like that. Once I got home and looked at them further and the color is streaky, there are chips in the color, and honestly they look like something I painted at home. I'm giving two stars because I don't think the business over all is bad, and the other nail techs seemed very attentive and friend. I think I unfortunately had a bad tech that didn't care about the quality of her work but because of it I would not recommend this place nor will I return. UPDATE: not even 24 hours later two of my nails have started to peel. I went back and spoke to the manager. I explained I was extremely unhappy and would like a refund and they could take the color off if they needed. She stated refunds were not part of their policy. As I spoke with one woman the other two women working joined in repeated what the first woman originally told me. It was very unprofessional. I walked in to get a full set of acrylics and gel. I was seated immediately and got started. My nail tech was Hannah, soft spoken, but seems pretty nice. She was focused and worked at a good pace. Unfortunately, she cut me 4 times. She apologized, but tomorrow is prom and my fingers hurt. It's not the end of the world, and the final product looked great. I paid $40 for the full set, which is average. Other than the cuts, I'm pleased with the final outcome. read more

I have been to color nails many times over the last 5 years this used to be my favorite place to get my nails done but after today I doubt I will be returning. I received a mani and pedi. The pedicure was nice and well done. Deb did this. My manicure was a completely different story. A different lady did my hands; which I believe was debs mother. My nails were and long and after a heavy hand with the file(deb did this part) my nails were now short and I don't mean a little from the palm side of my hand you can no longer see my nails. I do not believe the manicurist was even trained. My cuticles which were very healthy before I came now look like Freddie Kruger got a hold of them. When it came to polish time she sloped it all over my nails making a mess, not to mention the coats were un even with some parts being really thick and others sheer. Deb did step in and evened the paint out, It now looks "okay" But the ends were not capped which means the paint will chip a lot quicker. After it was all said and done I was charged $32. I paid then tipped. Before I left (I had to wait for my friends nails were done, so about 15 min) Deb came up to me. and was like " oh I am sorry. Your cost was $37 you owe me more money". I found this to be a bit rude considering the experience we just received and it's not my fault you told me the incorrect price from the beginning. I reluctantly paid the extra $5 and immediately left. I am very disappointed. This place has gone down hill. read more

I first walked in and they the lady who was doing my nails was an elderly woman. She was very nice, but when I told her the length I wanted them, she kept filing them down and making them shorter. She also made me bleed on 3 different fingers. She apologized and I forgave her. She also ended up leaving a bunch of acrylic in my nail. The first time went okay and the nail tech did a nice job so I went back a couple of times. The owner gives great customer service. They assigned me to an older lady there, and she does the most horrible job. Clumpy, crooked, bubbly, bad quality acrylics. The shop is very dirty and they reuse files and tools between customers. I had the lady cut me multiple times, licked her finger and wiped it off with her bare hands. They also use their phone the whole time while you're getting your nails done and have an attitude if you asked to get them fixed when they mess up. read more

Worst experience of my life!! Spent $90 to get burned by a nail filler and cut on my toe. Got a full set and 3 days later all them were coming off. Each nail had a different shape, had to keep asking her to fix the shape and to put more glue on nail. In the end it was just a waste of time and money. read more

Do not go here. These people have managed to totally mess up my nails. They repeatedly told me that my gel was old and ripped it off using nail tips rather then soaking them off properly. I am now going to have to spend the better part of the next year re growing my nails, hopefully they will fully heal from the extensive damage that they manage to do that color nails. By prying the gel off of my natural nails they cause my natural nail plate to lift from the nail bed. read more
