alexx did my nails the first two times and i find myself coming back requesting her. booking an appointment is very simple and seamless. they recently replaced the decor with mirrors all along the wall and it looks very clean and open. the atmosphere is friendly and i can feel relaxed talking to my nail technician or being on my phone. i asked her for pink and green and she made sure i liked the color and i don't ever feel bad for asking to switch the color. loved how my nails came out and i love that she makes sure the base is nice and clean so my cuticles stay healthy. read more

I visited this salon a couple of months ago to get my nails done for a trip to Orlando. It's located right near my mom's house, and when I asked if the shop was new, the worker told me they'd actually been there for a couple of years. Honestly, I absolutely love a place with character! I've posted pictures below because they made me cackle--some people might call the decor tacky, but I think it's hilarious. It was such a great takeaway from the experience. The inside has the standard massage chairs you'd expect, the vibe is very "chill and do your own thing," and I'm sure you could ask for tea or whatever else you need. I had such a great experience with Alexx! She is incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about nail products. I asked a million questions and she patiently answered every single one without ever making me feel rushed. She's also very accommodating and truly cares about her clients' comfort. Even though she's always busy (which says a lot about how good she is!), she never rushes through the service and takes her time to make sure everything is perfect. This will be a long review. This morning, I showed up to this salon by mistake. By that I mean, someone on Facebook pretended to be a nail tech, scammed me out of my money, and sent me to this salon for my "appointment". I was so embarrassed when I went in and realized I had been scammed.(this person had no relation to the shop AT ALL, this is not their fault). This shop went ABOVE AND BEYOND to take care of me. I explained the situation and showed them the conversation on Facebook, and they were so apologetic that someone could do that, and offered to take me right then and there. I explained that I needed to go call my bank, but that I would be back. About 30 minutes later I went back in, still embarrassed that I fell for a dumb scam and ready to get my nails done. The manager, love her she's amazing, immediately came over to me and wanted to hear what had happened to me. She was so genuine and caring and made me feel so much better about everything. They had me seated immediately and started on my nails. I love that they took their time and checked in throughout the service and made sure everything was perfect! Tuyen did my nails and did an amazing job. It's everything I wanted and more! I'm so grateful for the experience I had here today, and I plan on coming here in the future!! I found this nail salon on Yelp, when I got tired of my nails always breaking at my old salon + their inability to do designs. Alexx is the owner, she doesn't do dip powder, but she did my pedicure the first time I came in and did an amazing job. Nail techs: - LiLi was my first nail tech here and she was so sweet and did an amazing job on my nails. She knew how to do designs and we had convo while she took her time on my nails. It took her about 2 hours to do a full dip powder set with soak off plus shpaing of my almond/stiletto nails. One day I called to schedule an appointment and they told me she no longer worked at the salon, so that was a let down to lose her after only seeing her for about 8 months. Everything would've been fine if she was still there. - Next Ti did my nails. I saw her since she did designs + dip powder. She moved so fast doing my nails, I thought she was in a rush, so I asked her "do you have time to do my nails". It was odd how fast she was moving, but I didn't notice that she missed any steps, so wudeva. I got a very small french tip with brown on the ends becuase the tortoise design I originally wanted was too much (in my opinion). Ti gave me the price ahead of time, which I appreciated but it seemed like she was charing extra for every little thing (e.g. leaving my nails thick and not drilling them so much was $5, etc.). I left the salon and 2 days later my nails began to chip, I got the paint fixed, then another 2 days later they chipped again. By this point I wanted the design completely removed, here's where the issue is... I spoke with Alexx about this, the design was $15, I had to come to the salon twice for repair (not including the original visit) and didn't want to refund the cost. I said "the design has been removed because it's not lasting due to error, which means I paid $15 for something I don't have" in essence and she said "we charge for time" so she didn't want to refund me at all. She stood there and glanced off for a second, then decided that she would refund $15 on a gift card. This was the absolute lease she could do. The next time I came, someone else did my nails and it took her close to 3 hours to do a regular dip powder soak off and set. I was so annoyed I told myself I wouldn't come back. Notes: - They charge an extra fee to use your CC. - They do not cut your cuticles off when you get dip power. That's $10 extra. - Appointments are recommended. - No rewards program for loyal customers. read more

12/30/23 Organic Nail Bar...mmm, Getting your body worked on here "can be such a revelation."  We thought we could get into the groove and step to the beat, but today's experience was like The Washington Commander's seasons..., a total let down. Let's back up several steps and get into the nitty gritty of things. Earlier today, my wife wanted to get her nails done at a business I introduced her to.  She has been there a few times and maybe once or twice without me being there. I called to make an appointment for her and I, but I had a brain fart and couldn't remember the names of the two people who worked on use last.   The lady was patient with me for a short time, but I could feel her mood and patients wearing thin.   Rather than deal with an unpleasant experience for both of us. I called back later on when I remembered  who serviced us and made the appointment.    The first bad taste in my mouth wasn't enough to prevent me from going to Organic Nail Bar. Upon arrival, my wife was greeted, but I wasn't.   My wife was lead to the pedicure spa and mine was located next to hers.   I was greeted by Thao on my way to the rest room which was nice. Thao just happened to be my nail technician while Alexx was my wife's technician.   Thao didn't talk at all this time around.  The vibe/ambience in the place felt cold.  My wife found Alexx to be less friendlier and talkative this time around too. If I hadn't talked to Thao, she wouldn't have talked to me.  Both my wife and I got the idea something had happened in the store before we had arrived.  We noticed the staff members kept looking over at two sisters in the room.   I got the idea the staff weren't pleased they were there regardless of the smiles we saw.   Sun Tzu wrote  "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer?" This thought crossed my mind as I watched heads stealing glances at  the sisters like eye candy. The overall nail work on my hands and feet weren't bad, but I have had better by both Alexx and Thao. This really makes me think today was a bad day them.   I watched the thoroughness I have seen Thao do before. This time I felt was different and rushed. The attitudes of the staff were as glum as The Gashlycrumb Tinies.  The final nail in the coffin for my wife was the $6 credit card/debit card charge per transaction. The cost of doing business seems to have go up. The $150 that was paid seemed step.  I am not sure my wife will be returning here after her experience.   She herself felt the ambience in the place was cold and unfriendly.   Alexx wasn't the same Alexx she met last time. Alexx's charming personality was cold like Winnie embbeled in ice...(The Gashlycrumb Tinies) If there is another experience here at Organic Nail Bar, I hope it is better then this experience.    I truly hope this was just "A Bad Day In A Building"...(Highlander The Series Reference), and that this is just a baseball swing and a miss. They were super nice and not busy at the time I went THANK GOODNESS, which was midday/afternoon on a Thursday. I got a simple nude powder acrylic..? There was def powder. I used their website to go through their "chat"/text feature after they had already closed on Friday night, and they texted back Saturday morning to ask when we would like to come in. Felt like getting a spa-in-a-box pedicure, and my boyfriend also decided to join in with a classic pedicure! I admittedly was worried about whether his very hairy legs would be a hindrance or if the hairs would get pulled, but he said his experience was great and would like to do it again. There are 8 pedicure chairs in a row and 7 manicure stations. They'll offer water or some tea to start. My tea was really hot and I burned my tongue, but I should have figured from the steam that it was really hot! My tech, Chi, did a fantastic job with my pedicure! My feet feel very clean and the polish work is very neat. Disposable liners are used in the pedicure foot tubs. The spa-in-a-box pedicure is supposed to come with a hand massage according to their website, so I brought it to Chi's attention when she seemed to be finishing up, and she obliged and apologized; she had said the owner updated the website very recently, and previously, a hand massage was not included. Both my bf and I added on a 10-minute foot/calf massage to our treatments, which felt great. I like deeper pressure, and Chi's touch is on the gentler side, so I asked for deeper pressure and she adjusted accordingly. As we were leaving, another guy came in with his girlfriend/wife and also got a pedicure for himself. If I were this business, I would advertise specifically regarding service for men, and/or for couples (any orientation), because I had to search around for a while to see if any places did pedicures for men. Looking back on it, this seems stupid, because feet are feet. But I thought maybe it made a difference with how much rougher/hairier men's feet tend to be..? Lol. Definitely coming back here for me and my bf on another pedicure date! Been hard during the pandemic to travel to VA annually. They have a sister duo that does exceptional gel French Manicures. You MUST book 1 month in advance and boy did I make sure my name got on their list. I took the last appt of the day because I needed to jump on another flight to Spain the following morning. 5 star ratings for the pedicure, Michelle did a phenomenal job! My feet needed a lot of TLC. I will be back for a pedicure with Michelle. My dip nail manicure was sub-par by Sunita. Attached a picture of what I "wanted" versus what I "received" (first picture). I requested the nails be more narrow similar to the picture but they are not physically appealing, heavy and pointy like witch nails (maybe they are in an almond shape). Another nail tech applies the black french but it didn't look good (we both agreed). Previously nail artists do not have handoffs. Also, you can see my actual nail that was either buffed away or the dip was not applied. There is also some type of residue on my nails. The nails are not in the same shape I wanted, some sides are sharper than others. I will probably remove tomorrow at another salon as I am not pleased. I noticed the regular customers had their go to nail techs but since I scheduled my appt the same day, I seemed to be given a less experienced nail tech. read more
