I've been to Souvla more times than I can count, and it never disappoints. The consistency alone is impressive as every visit feels like a repeat of a prior great experience. Both the chicken and lamb are solid choices, but my go-to is usually the chicken in wrap (or sandwich?) form. I love how well the flavors and textures in the wrap play together, with the navel orange and fennel combo hitting every single time and creating such a bright harmony of flavors. For sides, it's always a toss-up between the juicy potatoes and Greek fries; both are delicious so it just depends on how I'm feeling that day and whether I'm in the mood for crispy, indulgent fries or potatoes absolutely drenched in all of the rotisserie drippings glory. If my stomach obliges, I'll absolutely grab a cup of their Greek frozen yogurt. The Olive Oil & Sea Salt flavor is unreal as it is creamy, tangy, and just salty enough to create such a perfect bite. This particular Divisadero location has such a pretty back patio, making it the perfect setting for a leisurely menu, especially when the weather is nice. The staff are always friendly, efficient, and quick to tidy up, which makes the whole experience even better. For food, we got the chicken wrap, lamb wrap, fries, and frozen greek yogurt. The gyros are big and the bread is soft and fresh. Ordering the food to getting the food was around 15 minutes which is great. THE FINAL BAMBOO: For the chicken wrap, lamb wrap, fries and frozen greek yogurt the damage done was around $55. After reading many of the reviews, I just realized No One mentioned the Pork wrap and now I get it. In the past I have gotten the chicken wrap and the chicken salad, both very good, albeit the chicken tends to be a bit dry on both counts. I wanted to try something different so ordered the Pork wrap w/o tomatoes or cucumber. I find they usually overpower the meat. When it arrived it was hot, loaded with Feta and a smattering of pickled red onions. But it was completely flavorless. I haven't eaten at Souvla on Divisadero since they first opened a decade ago. After having lunch nearby recently, I popped in for dessert. I enjoy all their frozen Greek yogurt varieties equally, depending on my mood. I almost ordered it topped with sour cherry syrup but switched to baklava crumbles & honey syrup. If memory serves, the baklava used to be drenched in honey, this batch seemed a bit dried out. Can't get to Santorini this summer? Been to Souvla in Hayes Valley, but first time at the one in NOPA. Was pretty disappointed as I had previously thought it was decent. Ordered the chicken sandwich with everything and it just tasted like oil. Chicken was also dry and almost chalky in texture. We came here primarily for the frozen Greek yogurt! I had the frozen Greek yogurt with the sour cherry on top. I'd say the yogurt was very fresh tasting and fragrant from the tart flavor. The "sour cherry" wasn't sour at all, however it wasn't too sweet. I wished the cherry flavor was sour and wished there were cherry pieces. They did give a generous serving. Service was friendly. I love salads with fruits in them and the navel orange was a great addition! The fries were fried to perfection but was not too oily! We added on a the "Granch" Greek Yogurt dressing which had a very umami flavor.. I might actually like this more than regular ranch dressing :'). The frozen Greek yogurt was also very delicious, the only thing is I wish there was a little more honey drizzle in mine but either way the flavors worked so well together! I've visited 4 out of the 5 Souvla locations in SF so far, and I always feel so welcome, which makes each in-person visit feel special. My mom found Souvla for us to try while we were visiting USF, and it was a delicious, filling lunch! My mom doesn't eat meat, so her and I decided to try both the salad and the sandwhich style of the Vegetables - which were the exact same basics, just over lettuce and kale, or wrapped in a pita. The Fries were my favorite part - just slightly crispy on the outsde, warm and potatoe-y in the center, and lightly flavored with herbs and cheese. The rest of the food was also good - I wish I had gone ahead and tried one of their meat dishes, because I do think that would have had some more flavor, but the sweet potato and olives were pleasant, if a bit bland. However, the meal was full of colorful, fresh, high quality ingredients, and really filled me up, so I left feeling really satifsied. If anything, it just made me want to come back to try what else they offer. The workers were amazing, bringing us water refills, checking in with us, and they were super sweet to talk to. The seating area is a bit cramped inside, but there was also a gorgeous patio out back, and if the weather had been a bit nicer, I know we would have loved it. In an area full of delicious food, Souvla definetly stands out for quick service, fresh ingredients, and menu choices.
