I have ordered thru doordash a combo wrap and falafel from this spot on this week, wrap was tasting good, but can't say the same about falafel, it actually wasn't tasting like a normal falafel... Reasonable price, not bad service, and the place inside is little small. Overall, good spot to grab smth real quick when you're hungry and late somewhere. Definitely not deserving 3 stars, also definitely not 5 stars, so I'd describe it as 4 star spot. read more

Golden Mediterranean was such a wonderful experience. I enjoyed my beef and lamb gyro plate. It was a quick bite to eat while on the go. The real hit was the delicious Turkish rice pudding that hit the spot. Staff were so sweet and hospitable. Within a 5-7 minute driving distance from Arguello and Fulton. My to-go meal satisfied my Mediterranean foodie craving. The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing and spacious. New business which opened 5-6 months ago. A friend just returned from touring Turkey and said the food at Golden Mediterranean was great and authentic! He. had the Beyti (wrapped/sliced kebab with yogurt and tomato sauce); his girlfriend. had the Mixed Grilled Plate (an impressive assortment of kebabs, chicken and beef gyros, rice, salad, tomatoes); and I had the salmon plate, cooked perfectly. (They were flexible and considerate to accommodate my food sensitivities and allergies). All were delicious, presented nicely, and served by our wonderful host/server, ABDUL (from Istanbul)! The desserts were great; baklava; kunefe (phyllo layered with soft cheese. drizzled with syrup and either orange or rose blossom water......headsup: it takes 15 min to prepare this); and Turkish delight, along with Turkish coffee and apple tea. Sorry I didn't get a pics of all the food (too busy eating and enjoying), but will make this restaurant one of our favorites and will definitely return! We were walking our pup when we noticed this new Mediterranean restaurant in the neighborhood, Golden Mediterranean. Food is delicious. Really like my Shish Combo with tasty rice, salad and hummus with pita bread. The chicken is tender, the beef is cooked well, but still soft & delicious. The falafel is also very tasty. Has great flavor. Tasted a bit like there's pickle juice in it. We like it a lot! I especially like the brightness of it. The chicken wrap is also good tho I prefer the Shish Combo plate more because of the variety of flavors and ingredients. Can't wait to come back and try other things on their menu. I'm glad I arrived hungry. I ordered a Lamb and Beef Gyro and Muhamara. When I tasted both of the dishes I was instantly transported back to Turkey! Both dishes were absolutely delicious, very fresh with just the right amount of spice. The Gyro came with Turkish rice, hummus with an olive and olive oil and a cut salad with fresh vegetables. The Muhmara had pomegranate molasses on top that added a delicious tang to the peppers and walnut meze. Abdul, my server was friendly and happy to offer recommendations which I accepted. The menu is extensive and offers many options including salmon and steak along with many different Turkish and Mediterranean dishes such as pasta, spanakopita and Greek salad. What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood! My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday night and were blown away. We started with the falafel and baba ganoush--both were delicious. The falafel was a standout: perfectly crispy and not at all dry. For our mains, I had the chicken shish kebab plate and my husband had the chicken gyro; both came with fluffy rice, a fresh Greek salad, and plenty of pita for dipping. We will definitely be back. These seem to be some young people starting off on a great adventure so I'd like to set out this review to help guide them to what I, a regular in the neighborhood would want to see. The Service is friendly. The restaurant looks super clean. However, upon entering, the music was playing loud and that music was some sort of house music completely detracting from ambiance and conversation. We had to speak loudly at the table to hear one another; even the waiter had a hard time hearing our order and asked us to repeat it. One there's no reason for House music and a Mediterranean restaurant. And two music should always be adjusted for the number of people in a restaurant. When I asked them to lower the speaker they did, but it was still the same detached kind of house music that has nothing to do with creating and appealing atmosphere I ordered the falafel's because I love falafel's. The best thing about them is that they hadn't been pre-cooked and they weren't super fried or reheated. They did however, lack a bit of flavor. Something was missing in the punch some spice. I'm not sure what it is maybe more cumin. I'm not sure. But it was at best a bit Lossee. And as falafel's are usually my first punch at a Mediterranean restaurant before ordering other things, I felt unmoved. I'm hoping that this review will actually push these people cause I would love to have a Mediterranean restaurant in my neighborhood just a block away from me.t read more

Tried this relatively new place, it was overall good. The thing that Most stood out for me was the food. I ordered the combo shish plate. Everything was fresh and warm, especially the pita and the chicken/steak. Service and ambience-wise, I think this restaurant could improve more. It seems like it can't decide its identity; whether it's a more upscale place or more casual place. Also, the music is overly loud, and the service was slightly slow. New Mediterranean spot in Laurel Heights. Ordered the Lamb and Chicken gyro. Wanted to try their Ayran yogurt drink, but didn't have it, so I'll have to try next time. Good balance of flavor, not dry, plenty of protein and leafy greens, definitely worth the price point. Close to work so I'll be swinging by often! They are open between 11am to 9:30pm I believe?
