Lovely, local restaurant! Food was delicious, and staff were friendly! First time ordering for take-out, but will consider eating in for future. Everything was so fresh, and the lamb shank was very tender. Loved their falafel as they were not greasy and over a salad. Highly recommend!

Golden Mediterranean was such a wonderful experience. I enjoyed my beef and lamb gyro plate. It was a quick bite to eat while on the go. The real hit was the delicious Turkish rice pudding that hit the spot. Staff were so sweet and hospitable. Within a 5-7 minute driving distance from Arguello and Fulton. My to-go meal satisfied my Mediterranean foodie craving. The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing and spacious. New business which opened 5-6 months ago. I'd love to return because the food was tasty and the atmosphere looked well-kept.

Love this restaurant! The kebabs (all of them are so tasty), pita, and baklava are super fresh. Great restaurant to bring a group of people in and the staff is so friendly. We had complimentary hot Turkish Tea at the end of our meal which was the perfect pairing with our dessert.

Baklava and kunefe.

A friend just returned from touring Turkey and said the food at Golden Mediterranean was great and authentic! He. had the Beyti (wrapped/sliced kebab with yogurt and tomato sauce); his girlfriend. had the Mixed Grilled Plate (an impressive assortment of kebabs, chicken and beef gyros, rice, salad, tomatoes); and I had the salmon plate, cooked perfectly. (They were flexible and considerate to accommodate my food sensitivities and allergies). All were delicious, presented nicely, and served by our wonderful host/server, ABDUL (from Istanbul)! The desserts were great; baklava; kunefe (phyllo layered with soft cheese. drizzled with syrup and either orange or rose blossom water......headsup: it takes 15 min to prepare this); and Turkish delight, along with Turkish coffee and apple tea. Sorry I didn't get a pics of all the food (too busy eating and enjoying), but will make this restaurant one of our favorites and will definitely return! Thanks to Abdul and staff for a wonderful dinner! (Also open for lunch continuously......yay!)

We were walking our pup when we noticed this new Mediterranean restaurant in the neighborhood, Golden Mediterranean. Food is delicious. Really like my Shish Combo with tasty rice, salad and hummus with pita bread. The chicken is tender, the beef is cooked well, but still soft & delicious. The falafel is also very tasty. Has great flavor. Tasted a bit like there's pickle juice in it. We like it a lot! I especially like the brightness of it. The chicken wrap is also good tho I prefer the Shish Combo plate more because of the variety of flavors and ingredients. Can't wait to come back and try other things on their menu. Ambiance is lovely with a light green (Parisian Green/Breakfast Room Green?) interior, classy, clean, airy. Very friendly, welcoming and gracious service. Located on California and Spruce.

Omg this is the best Mediterranean food I've had in a long long time. We got the French fries, the Muhamara, and the falafels and I would rate every single one 10/10! I don't even like falafels but I liked them here. Plus the waiter is super nice here and the service is quick. Love this place will definitely be back.

What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood! My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday night and were blown away. We started with the falafel and baba ganoush--both were delicious. The falafel was a standout: perfectly crispy and not at all dry. For our mains, I had the chicken shish kebab plate and my husband had the chicken gyro; both came with fluffy rice, a fresh Greek salad, and plenty of pita for dipping. We will definitely be back. Very friendly service as well!

Golden Mix (For 2 People), Beyti , combo Combo Appetizer

Exceptional food, great service, cozy vibe, great ambiance. Mixed grill Golden Mix (For 2 People) was pretty big enough for 3 person. Everything was so fresh. Beef and chicken grill was just perfectly juicy.

There was complimentary bread which was insanely good and fluffy and warm plus tahini and an onion tomato sauce I think along with radishes and olives. We are not olive ppl sadly but I tried one and it was pretty okay. The service was great and all the servers were super attentive and accommodating. The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. The kunafa was good we got it crispy and was yummy imo but was a lil oily (I think this is normal tho). Arab food isn't really spicy but it is spiced and very herbal which I felt in the food here, I appreciate that chili sauce is provided for the spice lovers. Overall, would highly recommend. It was about $100ish for everything and they recently increased their prices but tbh the portion sizes are huge and I feel like it is so worth it we had hella leftovers. If we had 4 ppl instead of 2 it would've been perfect portions for everyone.

We've come across and heard about Old Jerusalem before and felt like having middle eastern food…read moretonight, so we took a chance and tried them out. When we arrived at around 7:30 pm, there were tables available. It's a comfortable cafe-like restaurant with mural paintings on the wall. Service was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the ambiance and waitstaff. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF SHAWERMA ENTREE ~ the beef was overly salted, saffron rice was ok, hummus was really thick, like peanut butter. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief. Rice was ok and it wasn't dry or soggy. 3.5 We've been spoiled and have had better food in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Nothing stood out for any of us. Prices are a bit high for what you get. Sadly, probably won't be back.

Of course a Greek emphasis, but lots of intersection with my Croatian-American culinary heart! The smelts are fishy in a good way, nice crunch, texture, tang of lemon, & sharpness of garlic spread. Very difficult to find, never mind getting it right. The octopus & stuffed calamari were the right texture, seasoning, & flowing with olive oil. Finished with some greens. What a treat! Pro-tip: get the smelts, be bold. My wife raved about her moussaka. Artisan. Nice hint of cloves, right amount of yogurt béchamel. The lamb, beef, eggplant (not watery), & potato all stood out. My sons loved their salmon & chicken. I sampled and confirmed. My bronzino was FANTASTIC. This one was big & better quality than I usually buy. I got it with bones, head, & skin. Poured on olive oil, more salt, & garlic. Yeah, gotta use the hands, chew...graciously pulling out the bones, looking as civilized as possible. Folks, this is Mediterranean: a great fish should be eaten like this. Crisp skin, get the meat from the cheeks & head. Again: emphasis on olive oil mixed with fish juices from bones & lemon! We were stuffed and shared a Baklava. Nobody does it better. Except James Bond, 007, but in a different context. 2 glasses of wine & 2 Shirley Temples for kids. The service was excellent. Attentive. We were in the back & it wasn't loud. Classy servers & classy people enjoying themselves. Oh: great portions too. $407, including 20% tip. Great value for what you get. We've come here for special occasions. They've strengthened the bond, we'll be back more often. So reminiscent of what I eat in Croatia when I visit. Thank you Hellas!

We loved the Combo appetizer plate which came with generous portions of 9 different items. I loved everything ! I'm an eggplant lover and two of the dips were eggplant based . My new favorite dip is the Mercimek Kofte which is a red lentil based chunky dip ; I would've guessed garbanzo bean based dip. The Haydari dip was also super addictive, a thick creamy dip made of kefir cheese and Greek yogurt. So many delicious but gut healthy items of the combo plate; which comes with thin lavash bread. Also loved the red lentil soup, which was warming on a rainy day. I thought it was flavorful without being overly spiced or too thick. My husband enjoyed the lamb kebabs. Tender juicy cuts of lamb that were well seasoned , comes on a bed of salad and rice. We also liked the charred red peppers and onions on the kebab . Service was sufficient Overall great little find for dinner !

I personally got the Kofte Kebab which filled me up. I had enough to bring home for lunch the next day. Getting a frozen yogurt at Easy Breezy is a must afterwards!!
