I hired this company last year to trim my neighbor's tree that was hanging in my yard. I thought they did great work at a fair price. I called again to ask for an estimate because I filed a small claims against the owner to have the tree removed and I know an estimate will be required. When the owner called me back, she raised her voice and said she refused to get her company involved. Even though an estimate isn't a binding contract, she said it would drag them through the mud. I've never had someone react this way. I ended up hanging up on her because she was so rude and unprofessional. I didn't sign up to be lectured nor do I need to let someone berate me! She acted like I was 5 yrs old. Said I should put myself in her shoes and she used to work for a law firm. Ok? So have I. An estimate isn't binding. And I'm taking legal action. Not trying to be shady. I was very upset by her overall attitude and would not do business with her again. read more

They arrived prompt at 8:30am, explained what they were going to do and have it completed and cleaned up in 5 hours. Came out to my place, gave estimate that was reasonable and in line with others I have received. The difference was that this is a true business with heavy equipment and a knowledgeable crew of professionals and insurance to cover any property damage that may occur. Charles was professional fit us in the schedule quickly. They cleaned up the yard fast and trees looked great. No complaints, and southwest will be my first call next time. Great experience, got exactly what I expected. Had three estimates, Charles gave best estimate and I was surprised that he was the only one who offered stump grinding and it was already figured into the price. Very professional tree service, all employees came dressed in company uniform. I asked for some logs to be cut to fit fireplace and they left some perfect size to use this winter. read more

If you must have a tree removed - and it's not cheap for a reason - I honestly can't imagine anyone doing a better job for the price. They have been out twice now; once for a huge cottonwood and the other for a very tall maple. They were on time, efficient and thorough. There was no blasting of music, excess chatter or extensive lunch breaks. They replaced the patio furniture, removed every bit from the yard, and swept the street after mulching every part of the downed tree. They came, they cut, they cleaned and they left! Perfect. Also, it took some ingenuity to do it all safely and w/o causing any damage to anything. And finally, Tina and Charles, the owners, are just the nicest people. read more

Southwest Tree Service did a terrific job removing a large Oak tree that had fell onto the roof of our house. The team were very professional from start to finish. They protected plants and windows and removed the tree from top to bottom in such a way that they never impacted the roof. This was the result of storm damage yet the price charged was very reasonable and they did not take advantage of the emergency in their pricing. Final cleanup was very good. Very disappointed in the owner of this company. The services provided were actually really well done by his men, but because of a miscommunication by his receptionist he was pissed off from the get go the day of our tree removal. Long story short, after paying for our services and the men leaving, I noticed my stump was not ground down as quoted by Charles. I called and spoke to the receptionist who then handed the phone to Charles who immediately snapped at me saying, "what do you want me to do?" I informed him that I wanted my services completed, but our call never got anywhere due to his increasing attitude. You would think it would end there after we hung up, but no, he showed up at my door later that evening to harass me and call me names. He was yelling, name calling and swearing so much that I was shaking at this point. He was demanding that I get my husband on the phone because I was a "child" and he couldn't talk to me. I was so scared I had to call 911 because the situation was increasingly getting worse. I would never recommend this company, especially if the owner will come to your house in the evening hours and harass you. He should be ashamed of himself. read more
