I discovered we were paying WAY too much for homeowner's insurance, so I changed companies. The inspector for the new company wanted a giant pine tree behind the house trimmed. So, it was Chipper's time once more! We saw a tree (literally healthy visually) collapse in our neighbors backyard. If it had hit our brand new fence it would have cost thousands upon thousands to repair anew with inflation. We had of course a few identical trees ourselve. We realized we had a hollow tree right in front of our home - and another very old one showing suspicious signs of the same strucktual degrading at its base. But, to the novice eye both the trees look very healthy and very vibrant and green. Varo (the arborist and head of all crews) knew about these trees from previous work. We let dead dogs lie as we have had to (unfortunately) deal with many trees here reaching the limit of their life in our brutal hot/cold environment called Dallas/Ft.Worth, Texas. Just so much money in the pot...and trees here are so vital! While we called with the intention of just cutting one tree with Varo's wise recommendation we (grudgingly) decided to cut both. As usual, he was very, very right. Examine the pictures of hollowed junctions in the core of these "Post Oak" trees. The one hollowed tremendously was the surprise actually- the one we wanted to salvage - it hung at about a leaning at a degree angle from vertical over our garage and also a limb over our house. From there we had some problems with the people not showing up when they were supposed to, but when Walter showed up, he was great. He gave us a quote, some information regarding our trees and seemed very professional and competent. We arranged for them to come on a Friday morning and were home when they arrived. I cannot rave ENOUGH about Chippers Tree Service! They offered competitive quotes (about half what others were offering) and did their job very well and all in one day. From the time I first spoke to them they were able to come out about a week later and were on time and on point. Chippers removed two huge red oaks, one holly, one crape myrtle, and trimmed our remaining red oak, and ground all the stumps of the removed trees for a very competitive price. Those trees had been on the property for 40 years and were right next to the house causing foundation issues, so I'm not kidding when I say the whole neighborhood was watching and asking me for their number. Literally TODAY the house two houses down from me is getting their tree removed using Chippers and they are just as efficient and friendly as they were with me. By far the best part about Chippers is that they, well, chip! They cut up the trees into manageable parts and chip them on site and haul away all debris for FREE. Other quotes from other companies were going to charge me $200 to haul away the lumber. Other services cut up your trees and leave them on your sidewalk for the debris to be taken away on bulk trash day at the beginning of the month, but there is nothing worse than creating an eyesore and an obstacle for the neighborhood for a couple weeks. No one wants to be that guy! Several neighbors have privately expressed: 1. How good the house looks 2. That they were thrilled that debris was taken away same-day 3. Once again we needed the service of this incredible company. Didn't hesitate to call Varo, the team leader who was instrumental in helping us selected various trees on our wooded property that needed skilled evaluation for cutting along with a crew that not only can do the job right, but most importantly protect themselves as well as your home In the cutting and hauling process. This 2nd time however was a challenge extraordinaire... We had a huge oak tree that the previous owners had allowed to grow right next to the house and whose branches went up at least 30 feet+ suspended over our roof. But, that's not the story, it is only the beginning... The previous owners had build a high quality pergola around the tree with an opening to accommodate this tree. An opening that I was having now to expand slowly from the roof top of my home to accommodate this beautiful, but dangerous tree over our newly renovated pergola - as well as our home. With "Chippers" I should have known that my apprehensions and fears would be laid to rest and quickly! The crew, (which I might add was nearly totally different), did the same amazing hardwork swiftly, professionally, and safely for all concerned. Tree killers! Hired to trim two trees. A healthy 30+ year old pecan with a minor storm-damaged limb, and a healthy 20+ year old live oak that encroached on the alley. They removed WAY too much foliage! Check out the pics. I'd estimate over 50%. The oak is already turning brown, I don't expect it to live. I will only use a certified arborists from on. He gave me a quote and was pre pared to start. My neighbor came over to inquire what we were doing to his tree. As it ended up that tree was also cut down as I was paying 1/2 the cost. Yea! Outstanding service! We called quite a few tree companies but Chippers was by far the most engaged. Varo came out right away with an estimate and was very knowledgeable and personable. The price was the best we got from all the other companies. Reaching someone on the phone in the office was easy and pleasant. The operations manager Walter came out during the job to check on things and made us feel taken care of very well. The crew of 4 (I don't have their names and I know I should!) was AMAZING! Our tall oak tree was in very bad spot in the corner of the fence and I expected some of the fence to be broken which I was assured would be repaired if that happened. I didn't need to worry - those guys worked as such a good team with lowering the branches that not a scratch was on the fence. They worked effectively and carefully and the cleanup was crazy good. Their foreman even wiped the sawdust off our fence and they raked every bit of leaves and twigs up, even in our neighbor's yard.
