Would not recommend!!! I contacted this company to get a quote for an arborist to inspect a tree on my property. After finally receiving the price, I asked a simple question: "Do you offer a military discount?" Instead of a polite response such as, "No, we don't, but when would you like to schedule an appointment?" I was told, "No we don't, have a great weekend." That dismissive tone was unnecessary and unprofessional. I wasn't upset about the lack of a discount -- I simply asked, as I usually do as a veteran. The response I received made me feel that they either didn't appreciate the question or perhaps hold some bias against the military. Have used their tree trimming services a couple of times the last few years. Last year I had to request a different person come out and discuss it with us because I was tired of hearing the suggested person (who we've worked with previously) complain about how he disliked the drive to McKinney. Had a tree that needed trimmed and another tree inspected after a storm. Used Yelp to reach out to a local business and the app offered to send it to other businesses in the area as well. Texas Tree Surgeons were on the additional list that Yelp offered to send it to. Luckily Texas Tree Surgeons responded within minutes and an arborist came out the same day to look over my trees and give me a quote. I wasn't home so they emailed me the quote. I will say the price was very fair and the comments offered by their arborist was very helpful. Set up the appointment for them to come by and trim my tree and they did a wonderful job. I definitely found my go to tree service. I usually just hired whoever was on my street trimming a neighbor's trees, but Texas Tree Surgeons were quick, professional, courteous, easy to get ahold of, and paying the invoice online was quick and easy too. I used the online contact form and they responded timely and the arborist was at our home a couple of days after submitting the request. I met with the arborist and received the estimate for the tree trimming and recommendations for the teddy bear magnolias a few hours after meeting. Great price for the tree trimming. Overall, we are very satisfied with the service. Only one minor issue is the arborist stated in his email that he would contact me when the trimming was scheduled. No contact either by email, text or phone call. Trimmers just showed up. It was great that it was timely, but we prefer notification when someone is on our property. The crew was here this morning just after 8a and got to work immediately. Nobody was just standing around and on their phones. That's never a good look for a service provider. Omar (the crew leader) is Mr. Customer Service. He addressed all my concerns and made some of the cuts and explained why others I pointed out were not recommended. I was talking to a neighbor during the work and he swears by these folks. They saved a tree of his that was hit hard in the 2021 Snowmeggadon. My experience with Kay who came out to evaluate and quote the job was great. She listened to my concerns and repeated what I needed to have done and even made suggestions. After deciding to use Texas Tree Surgeons they were able to schedule a crew the same day. The crew came out and trimmed the tree. I did ask if the tree could be cut back on the side closest to the tree and on the next to my neighbor's home and was told that they were instructed to trim the tree to city code. I would recommend them but would caution to ask for the written order for review to ensure what you requested and believe you're paying for is exactly what you get. read more

Buyer beware: DO NOT USE Texas Tree Surgeons. They have been "taking care of" my trees for years. The last several times, I have offered their workers water and in return they have stolen one squirrel yard art pieces, (for which they gave me a credit), broke a sprinkler head, (refusing to fix, said it's wasn't them,) and broke the edging (also said it wasn't them.) Not even an acknowledgment. Instead they tell me that they sent someone out, the owner, and she says it wasn't them. She was certainly not on site reviewing their work. Nor did she announce herself when she was on my property trespassing. If you want a company that will take advantage of a cancer patient, this is the company for you! DO NOT USE, these are not honorable people. They do not care about your property, only about lining their pockets. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! We've used them before but I think there's been a change of management and staffing. Our former arborist is no longer there. We advised them to be particularly careful with some of our new garden beds and it's like they completely ignored the request. Lots of damage. And looking at the work they did on the trees I'm seeing lots of dead branches and suckers that they could have easily reached but I guess were too lazy or incompetent to try. Texas Tree Surgeons completed a stump grinding for a bush. During the process they hit a pipe for our sprinkler system. They were made aware we had a sprinkler system in place when they came to quote the job. The area the bush was located also had visible drip/soaker piping that the arborist moved to the side of the stump. Had the communication not been shared with the arborist, moving the drip/soaker pipe should have indicated the presence of the system. The quote states during stump grinding any damages to underground piping is not liable to the company. The quote also states stump grinding is typically 4-6 inches into the ground. The pipe they hit is much deeper than this approximated depth. They also failed to tell us they hit the pipe. I came home from a business trip to find the damaged pipe exposed with a small flag placed next to it. Although my wife was home during the work, there was no effort made to notify us of the damage. I called the office and was reminded of the language on the quote not accepting liability. I explained my concern was not being notified of the damages. A few days later Will, a manager, called to discuss the damages. Will explained he too was not notified immediately of the damages. Despite being not liable, Will spoke nervously throughout the call. $275 for a plumber to repair. I asked Will if they could deduct $50 off the stump grinding fee. Will said he would discuss with the front office and see if that was feasible or if there was anything else that could be agreed upon. I never heard back from Will. I just received an email reminder that payment is due without any deductions. **Update** Added a star as the vendor did discount the original invoice. I appreciate the owner's response below. However, I called the office on a Thursday, Will retuned the call the next day and left a message. When I spoke to Will that following Monday he said he too was unaware until 24 hours following the damage. I stand by my experience that the effort of communicating the damage was absent. read more

Called Texas Tree Surgeons after seeing their name recommended on Nextdoor repeatedly in user comments. My two live oaks were losing bark and I was worried about their health. Steve came out and looked over the trees and walked me through what he was seeing. With many years of experience and being a licensed arborist and his great demeanor, he helped my technically oriented brain to understand these great living trees. The trees were responding the way they were supposed to and were not in danger of dying off, like I had worried about. No extra TLC was needed, but they could use with a trim to help them continue to grow to their potential. Steve's explanations about the when, why and how of trimming oaks were different from my previous vendors. He explained what he could do, what he recommended against and what he believed was in the tree's best interest and thus our best interest to have healthy trees. And he was the first to warn me about Oak Wilt disease and the need to keep to a certain time of year when having the tree trimmed. The quote provided for the trimming was far different than what we have had in the past and this included the trimming of our Photinias, which had a rough year last year, and our Crape Myrtles. Most vendors have come out and given a quote without really examining the trees and environment the way Steve did. And the quote was far more reasonable and with a very specific approach designed to keep the trees healthy and happy. The team was scheduled and they arrived on time and ready. Very polite, they discussed the work to be done and they got started, doing an excellent job. I was very impressed with the way they gathered everything up and loaded onto their trailer. Not a lot of branches and leaves lying around and the trailer didn't look like it had a bunch of branches sticking out in all directions. It was a very secure load. Before leaving they reviewed the trimming they completed on all the trees. It also took less time than I was expecting, even with the cleanup afterwards. Billing came a day later in an e-mail and was it easy to complete the transaction and no surprises on the bill. Steve imparted a lot of great information and there was no sales pressure, upselling or aggrandizement.
