I had a huge Post Oak Tree fall at my parents property. Acorn came highly recommended by the city as Code Enforcement had gotten some complaints in Southlake (imagine that) for the tree being close by a electric pole , but the guy from the city said they were a great company. So I called and spoke with Chris from Acorn. He got back to me right away. He was able to me be a day later and that was only because of my schedule not his. He came out and I told him what I wanted to have done to the tree. It was nothing fancy. It was get it off the citys electrical pole, the neighbors fence (which broke some) and they could just leave the rest for now lying on the ground. We talked about price and a day. His guys actually showed up earlier than the time stated and already had started working on things. Called Acorn and told her I would be writing a check and Brittany said she would be coming by to get it. But instead Chris came by to make sure the guys were doing what they should be. And he actually had them do a little bit more than originally planned! They did a great job for such a hot mess of a downed tree! So I would ABSOLUTELY 100% recommend hiring Acorn Tree Service. Was very satisfied with their service.he quoted me a price and I had found someone that would do it a couple hundred dollars cheaper.about a week later he called me back and ask if it has been cut down yet.i said no the guy was real busy right now and it wouldn't be for another couple weeks before he could get to it.well he told me he would match their price and a couple days later he had my dead cottonwood tree cut down.along with a limb coming across from my neighbors yard above my power line.also did a great job on clean up.the only thing left is for them to come back and grind a couple of stumps down. An amazingly excellent company in every way. We had seven oaks and pines around our house and yard that had accumulated probably twenty years of dead wood and neglect. I delayed getting it done because I had not found a tree company that I felt confident with until a friend recommended Chris and Acorn. Very professional operation starting with the call to set up an estimate. We had a huge American Elm that began to die just after we moved into our new house. Our trees were in need of healthy clean up, the crew that showed up to work did an outstanding job. They trimmed the branches encroaching the house, raised the apron, trimmed out all dead and diseased branches. I had a dead Oak that had to be removed, and a lot a dead wood to be thinned out of other trees. Chris came out and we discussed what was to be done with each tree. When the crew arrived to do the work, the supervisor and I again reviewed the work that was to be done, and it was clear that we will all on the same page. Had an appointment set up for Chris to come out and give us a quote today between 10-12. Sat around at house all day, and no show from Chris. Called the office at 2:15 to see what was going on, had to leave a message. Hour later sent a reply back to an ongoing email thread with their office, still no answer. Chris Steele and his team were efficient, thorough and courteous. Their clean up after the fact was great. We needed a large tree removed and received quote on "deadwooding" other trees on lot and raising the canopy, as well as getting limbs away from house. His price was very competitive. Only knocks, but not worth removing a star, is there were a couple of communication gaps. He did not clarify up front that his estimate was a cash/check price and that paying with CC would have been more. He said he would speak with neighbor before cutting on their tree. They weren't available, but he failed to let us know his attempt to speak with them was unsuccessful. Definitely recommend his serves. read more

This review should be no surprise, given already stellar reviews listed here. We had a GIANT 200 year old pecan tree, that sadly, was dead as dead can be. I called around to a few companies, Chris included, and many of his peers referred me to him and his team at Acorn, because of their arborist capabilities. Our tree was giant, like super giant. It was tickling the very high power lines, was within reach of the neighbor's fence, our fence, and the other neighbor's storage shed. This dead tree was an accident waiting to happen. Chris came out, the day after I called him, on a weekend during family time. So thankful for that. He took a look at this tree, and the many other trees on our lot. Gave us pretty standard pricing (a little lower than average) on the big dead pecan. He also gave me estimates on other trees around our lot. Tree by tree, so I could decide what I wanted to do. We only committed to the monstrous pecan, and he scheduled us for the next business day (Tuesday). When he arrived on Tuesday, we talked to him about the other tree out front. It also is a pecan tree, but needed some rehab. He gave us very competitive pricing on it, and said he also could do it that same day. We had a couple special requests, and he obliged, for no extra cost. Including leaving wood on site (for us to burn), and saving a branch with a super cute squirrel family living inside, as well as others. His team worked flawlessly. I believe he had at least 2, maybe 3 climbers who all leveraged current safety and climbing gear. They were courteous, and I'd gladly have them come work on our trees again. Chris and team were so prompt, professional, and did such wonderful work. I will surely leverage them for large arborist needs again in the future. Highly recommend these guys. Don't let the Southlake address frighten you. Their pricing is pretty standard, and isn't affected by the office location. Note, tax will be added to the cost of your services. read more

I was really hoping this company would work out for me, especially with all the great reviews. Unfortunately, I didn't have the experience others have had. First when scheduling a quote, they were more than two hours late without any notification, I had to reach out to them. Chris was friendly and informative when he came out. So I decided to give them a shot. Scheduling then became a problem too. Since they only work during the week that requires me to take off work. I think their normal process is to only schedule a couple of days before. I did let Brittany know this wouldn't work due to my schedule I would need to plan on a specific day. We scheduled it for today, they were supposed to be out at my house in the afternoon anything after 12pm. I received a call at 2:30, saying they would not be able to make it out. I took off work to be home and my neighbor had to make a special trip during lunch to put his dog up so they could have access to his yard. Based on the response I received, they were ok with loosing a customer and it was no big deal. Given my experience and unable to rely on them to show up, I have to go with another company. read more

I had a mature crepe myrtle tree removed from the backyard of my townhouse. Chris and his crew were fantastic! They had to take down a portion of fence and work in a very tight area, so it really was a bit complicated, but that did not seem to be a problem for them.
