We had a LARGE tree limb crash down thru our fence with the recent high winds. It was also completely blocking our neighbor's driveway and garage! He understood the urgency, shuffled his schedule a bit and came out himself to resolve our problem. Two rather large tree limbs fell on our house on a Saturday. I called Lumberjack Tree Service, Derek Hebert (owner) answered the call promptly and agreed to route to our location. He was here within an hour or so! We had another company come out just prior and he refused to even take the job. It was a rather dangerous situation as the limbs were large and sitting on top of our home and could potentially shift and fall off. Derek put our minds at ease immediately, quoted a VERY fair cost and had a crew out within the day to begin removal. A crew of 4-5 people arrived, were very professional and began removal with care. They took their time and were careful not to cause more damage to our new roof than the tree had already caused. The crew made sure, before they left on Saturday, that all limbs that were causing a safety hazard were removed. They arrived promptly on Monday morning to complete the removal and the stump was ground the next day. We have several other trees that will need removal and I wouldn't trust anyone but Lumberjack Tree Service, Derek and his amazing crew! read more

The services performed included general tree pruning for 3 Chinese Pistache trees, installing a cable/bracing, and deep root fertilization. Derek came to the house and was very polite and personable and gave me a detailed job description with a very reasonable estimate. The job was completed in a timely and professional manner; Derek and his crew did great work and an amazing clean up job before they left. I had a question about the bracing bolts being a bit too long, and the crew came immediately and trimmed them and it looks great. Do not make the mistake I made. I did not get a formal quote or statement of work from this business. I paid way too much and I regret doing so. I asked for the owner to come back and trim back a part of one tree and he didn't do so. I also said I wouldn't use his company again so this may be why he didn't come back. The quality of work was good but because of a major miscommunication on what would be done he was willing to charge me additional at another time to put cables up in one of the trees to keep it from splitting. When we spoke I was under the impression this was part of the job. He also did not accept credit cards so we had to make a transaction using his personal paypal account. I was willing to accept the original agreed upon price because I thought it included the tree cabling. read more

First Impression: The guy who came out was knowledgeable and prompt. He came right out as promised. And we received our estimate via email fairly quickly. The estimator was friendly, professional and attentive and he listened. And, he explained everything. On the job: I was very pleased when the crew showed up 30 minutes early and got right to work. For the most part everyone was courteous/friendly -- save one of the guys who got annoyed when we asked him to place the shrubs/trees in a certain location as they had initially began putting everything in the wrong spot. They also left a few pieces of debris in the street, which my dad had to go and sweep up and move so that cars could pass without running over it. I found Lumberjack Tree Service on a Google Maps search. It led me to a website where I put in my contact information. I always feel weird putting my info out there but I did it hoping for a good experience. This had been my second time to seek out a quote from someone to cut down a dying 25 year old sweet gum tree in my front yard. The first was last year and the "other" company on line came out and showed up with a whole crew trying to do the work right then. Well, I don't work that fast and always like to think things over. The "other" company wanted an arm and a leg so I said I'll think about it (as it was way too much) and I wasn't working at the time. So spring approaching I tried again. Derek called me back within 5 minutes! He was so warm and kind over the phone I felt a lot better with scheduling an appointment quote with him. He came out the next day and he was just as nice in person. He noticed I also needed my crepe myrtles needed attending to however after last years "other" quote on the tree I wasn't going to dare ask him about them. Well, to my surprise he gave me a quote for all of the work very, very reasonable! Sometimes, it's just worth waiting for the right person to come along. He came back a few days later as rain delayed the work. He did a really nice job and ground down the stump as well. I got to save the clean mulch for use in my landscaping as well, however he took all the wood away. It was a very good clean up. Hiring a good, kind, and honest hard working man such as Derek with Lumberjack Tree Service is one recommendation I can give my highest marks for. You won't be disappointed. The BEST tree service in town. I hate to even say that they are tree trimmers - they are tree artists! We have used them on three separate occasions and have been pleased with the work, the people and the clean-up. It's amazing what they can do with ropes, harnesses and saws!
