would have given them nothing except the coffee was good. after driving in from salem we couldn't wait to order brunch. we were told they weren't taking any more orders because they were swamped but took the food order from a woman before us and then a food order from folks who came after us. but the cashier ( young kid with a pony tail) said we could have pastries. i was starved and ordered a cinnamon bun. it was dry and tasteless. the latter was good but definitely not hot. all in all very disappointed with this place. read more

We can't wait to come back here! The coffee is great, the biscuits are heavenly, the options are super creative, everything is super fresh and delicious. The outside seating is pretty and surprisingly relaxing for being right off of Crescent Ave which can get a decent amount of traffic - we didn't even notice it. We were too busy stuffing our faces with the good food and watching the hummingbirds playing in the trees and Rose of Sharon shrub. The only problem we had was deciding what to try, because everything looked and sounded so good. We all got some variation of biscuits on this visit. Next time I think I will try a fun toast option! The baked goods are, across the board: great. That's something given that they try a lot out. Their menu changes quite a bit and the variety of goods they output is impressive. You'll have about 8-12 choices of homemade baked good per day and honestly, it's heads and tails above any other bakery in Eugene. Sure, other places may have more options, but how many of those options are any good? Southpine, really hasn't steered me wrong. If you're looking for something hot: try the soups. They, like everything else, are made in-house. They also change daily. I live across the street and stop by just to pick up a cup of soup. A great treat on a rainy day. Last and I'm not a vegetarian: their vegetarian sandwiches are fantastic. They use ingredients I normally don't think of while I'm at home (sliced squash, for instance) and I love them for a quick bite. They have sandwiches with meat in them as well and I think they're of objectively high quality, but I just normally wouldn't opt for a turkey or ham sandwich if I am stepping out for a bite. That's not to say you can't, but give the veggie sandwiches a try, I say. Anyway, this isn't a chain. It's run by very nice people and similarly staffs very nice people. If you're in the area or just traveling through: you owe it to yourself to try them out. read more

Has my favorite sandwich in town and delicious coffee drinks. However we typically only freuqent in the summer as it staff policy is to leave the front door open regardless of winter weather outside. If you go, bring a coat as it was 59 degrees last time we ate and kept our winter wear on. The catamaran may be worth the frigid dining experience though...top notch. read more

For about 7-10 months I came here almost every Saturday and Sunday morning a little bit after they opened for two orders of biscuits and gravy. Found this cute place because it is in the same little shopping area where my husband and I get our haircuts. It has very good specialty coffee and the pastries looked fresh and delicious. Loved that my chai was not from a mix but rather with option to be sweetened with honey. Staff was prompt but not very friendly. Maybe just caught them at a bad time. They close at 2pm, which makes sense for a breakfast and lunch place ( they offer egg sandwiches and lunch fare daily), but I would love it if they stayed open and hour or so later for that afternoon fix.
