Soko is in a cute spot and has a cute atmosphere, and most of the time, baristas are pretty nice! They seem to have a good synergy with one another, but with customers at times, seem closed off. When leaving or saying "have a good day" or "thank you" you're met with nothing, or at least the last 2 times I went I was. But, they're still sweet people.The lattes are pretty good, drinks are of good quality, and their food is also pretty good. I did find many long, black hairs in my breakfast sandwich, though... Service is 5-10 minutes usually, which isn't bad! Overall, I think this place is solid, just some minor things that really make a coffee shop experience lack. read more

This place is small but delivers a good oat milk latte! I have been here a couple of times now and have enjoyed the espresso every time. I haven't tried any of the food but it looks good whenever I'm there. Great little coffee spot we found while in Eugene. We ordered a Cafe Mocha Hojicha latte with oatmilk. Both were very good. We also ordered their Fig and Apple grilled cheese sandwich. It was very tasty and they serve it with potato chips to give you that sweet savory flavor. The cafe had ample seating, very friendly and helpful staff, and service was fast. First impression, the space was so open and light and CLEAN. A little small, but they have plenty of tables and seats to choose from. Both the mocha and iced oat milk chai were simple but good. The real star of the show here is the breakfast bagels. Perfectly toasted. Buttery, crunchy outside. Soft, chewy inside. Peppery sausage and fluffy eggs. I am so lucky to be right down the street. I came in here with my husband for an Elite event, which was a less than stellar experience. But, I didn't want to write them off completely without trying it one more time. This is a place I noticed a couple months ago when driving by on our way to a funeral. I'm glad they have signs, because otherwise I wouldn't have even glanced at it, let alone tried it. The space is bigger than it looks, very open/sunny and I liked that. I could see myself returning if I lived closer. It is also really clean, which is a big deal for me. They definitely win in being a comfortable space you want to spend time in. We ordered two drinks, and skipped food this time. Drinks are still just okay. My chai latte was room temp when it was given to me. If we're being honest, I can serve myself room temp tea at home. I can't remember what my husband ordered. Customer service is still bland, although not as annoying as my original visit. Would I return? I said no when I reviewed my Elite experience, and I'm still at no. It's a beautiful space that makes you want to return, but what the space has to offer just isn't enough. There's nothing egregiously wrong with this place, but there's nothing to bring me back either. I found a gem of a coffee shop in Eugene, Oregon! Soko Coffee was an unexpected delight. It's different than your average coffee shop, the most popular one you can think of. I found their vanilla latte was more flavorful and creamier than any latte I've had before. I also treated myself to a coffee cake. I wasn't expecting it to be so fresh, light and moist as if it were homemade. Definitely look up Soko Coffee if you are in Eugene and treat yourself to a dessert and a delicious cup of coffee. I'm surprised by the quality of this little gem I found and will be returning for seconds! The barista, named Levi was extremely courteous and friendly. He advised me on some of their most popular drinks to help me choose the perfect order for me. I really like a calm, clean Zen ambience when I want to relax with a cup of coffee, and this was the aesthetic that I liked. Minimalistic, clean and fresh. Sat down and relaxed and had a great day. Very friendly and helpful service. Great coffee selections. We got the cold brew and seasonal espresso tonic. They have unique seasonal flavors and chaga protein coffee as well. They had several pastries to choose from, but we didn't try any this time. It's tucked in next to a church and off the street so it is easy to miss (I drove by the first time). Some folks working/studying, friends visiting, low un-intrusive music in the background. Not cramped, well lit, comfortable and easy to hang out here. Cute little coffee shop . I was excited to try someplace new and supporting family ownedbefore I drove back home. I got a hazelnut oat latte . I took a sip and it tasted straight oat milk and then I looked at the cup looked like it was so light usually it's semi brown I saw the hazelnut syrup on the bottom but didn't taste like coffee. Ordered drinks here on a rainy day! Beware Google Maps might take you straight to a residential neighborhood, so just keep your eyes peeled at the corner of the intersection. Small parking lot and also saw a food truck outside for food options. Inside, the coffee shop has a small selection of drinks and a few tables inside as well. There was also outdoor seating by the food truck. Was delighted to see hojicha latte on the menu, so I gave it a go since I rarely see it on menus. It was delicious! A fresh modern looking shop with creative and tasty drinks! The space inside is bright with tons of natural light and sleek design. It looks like a very inviting place to catch up with a friend or do some work. Everyone was very friendly and answered questions we had about drinks and their espresso set up. Kevin even gave us a little tour of his super modern hi-tech espresso machine. I got their special drink of the month, a campfire mocha, that featured dark chocolate and cinnamon. I asked for half sweet and with oat mik and it was perfect, still plenty sweet for me with rich and developed flavors the dark chocolate added a lot. The real highlight was the bruleed marshmallow on top. My partner got a cortado, which was beautifully presented and was very well crafted. Worth noting, they close very early at 2pm each day! So if you are an after lunch coffee person, make sure to go on the early enough that you can enjoy your drink. A great new addition to the coffee scene in Eugene, we can't wait to go back! read more

A very charming, open and inviting cafe outside of the bustling areas of Eugene. I enjoyed a mint tea and a croissant. While I wish the croissant was a bit flakier or even warmed up it was still decent. They have high top tables, bar stools, some regular tables and one couch sitting area that we were lucky to snag. There was a food cart outside when we went (El Buen Sabor) and some people were eating food from them inside the cafe. They also have outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. Plenty of parking and I really like that I don't have to deal with downtown or a loud atmosphere when I'm in the mood for a tea and a book. I love this spot. I wish I lived closer so I could visit them regularly. For now, I just make special trips when I need to get out of the home office for a bit as this is a great place for productive remote work. I'm obsessed with their overall aesthetic. Very minimalist yet also homey? I love that they use a giant church pew to connect the row of small tables. They have a very straightforward menu that offers the basics. Don't let their simplicity fool you though, they really put a lot of care into making their beverages. I love watching the concentration when they prepare my espresso. The same attention was dedicated to the green tea I ordered. They don't have a lot to eat outside a small assortment of pastries. So this is not the place if you are starving. I was told that this place has the best coffee in town and therefore I should visit. It is a very quaint cafe. Small enough to feel as if you're sitting in a living room. Large enough to have your own privacy. They also have outdoor patio seating. I don't drink coffee often so instead I got my usual Matcha Latte. It was pretty good. Not overtly sweet, not overtly powdery. Therefore I liked it and will definitely have it again when I'm back in Eugene. read more

This is a super cute little coffee shop! I spent some time doing homework here this weekend. It was busy when I first arrived, but quiet and there was plenty of seating inside so it was a great place to get some work done (they do also have an outdoor seating area that is shared with a shaved ice pod). They had a variety of drink options including loose leaf teas (my favorite). I got here at about 10:30am on a Sunday, so pastries were slim, but I did manage to snag a croissant. Parking is shared with the church next door, so it was a bit packed because I managed to stop by right after Sunday service had begun, so be aware of that. Was in town for a short stay and we chose to have some morning sustenance at Soko. Only downside is we weren't sure if it was a coffee shop or a co-working space. We snagged the last two spaces, which was at a communal table and we, sadly, had very loud seat mates. Every other spot was taken by someone on a laptop who were clearly there for the long haul. Someone was even on a headset taking a call, not exactly a relaxing coffee shop vibe. I do wish they would have some tables reserved for those simply enjoying some coffee vs people taking up space working. There was outdoor seating however when we were there it was rainy and the tables were wet but on sunny days that would be a nice spot to enjoy your coffee/tea etc We had a croissant which was flakey and buttery; would get it again but might try something else first the next time as they had a few bakery items. We also had a chai latte which was more spicy than sweet - a great creamy option with soy milk. Last drink we had was an Americano which was strong and delicious. I stopped here on a way to an estate sale on a Saturday morning and grabbed a matcha latte with oat milk to go. It's a cute space with a very minimalist vibe. It was busy when I stopped in, with friends having coffee dates, and students working on laptops. I appreciate that they have some covered outdoor seating, too--I still prefer to eat outside when possible to minimize virus risks. My drink was solid. I don't know if I'd go out of my way to come back here, but I'll certainly stop by again next time I'm in the area! I want to give 4 1/2. Not quite five but I am a harsh grader. A place has to excel (!) to get five stars from me. They are great. Fine coffee, fine treats, maybe what I like best is the interior. It's relaxed. Open. Clean. Not downtown, not busy, no challenges, just pleasant in a very good way. Mellow, if you will. If you are within a mile it's worth trying. Skip Starbucks at Safeway or Albertsons or Oakway and keep going and give Soko a try. You certainly won't regret it, and I think you will be happy did tried it. read more
