Came here recently and was promised an amazing evening of wonder. Sorekara delivered on that promise. If you've never been to a two or three Michelin star restaurant, then you probably haven't ever experienced anything like this. The ambiance on the outside is an unsuspecting, desolate corner of the strip mall with no branding of any kind on the outside. But once you get inside, you are instantly enveloped into a guided experience through several different rooms that were very reminiscent of my time in Japan last year. Paper walls, stone-lined floors, an obvious affinity for beautiful, ancient trees. Ambiance is unparalleled. The best decor in any restaurant in Orlando. Service is also out of this world. These fancy restaurants usually like to have their service choreographed and in sync. Sorekara was no different. It was awesome. Intentional in every move, but they also made it looks so effortless. You felt taken care of like you were royalty, but it wasn't pompous or anything. Especially with them all wearing white Nike kicks. Smart casual, as they say on their reservation reminders. Food. Astronomical. I can confidently say that the only meal that I've ever had that even comes close was Alinea in Chicago. IYKYK. I won't go into detail. They wouldn't like that, and even if I did, they change their menu 72 times a year, so my description would be null and void by the time you got there. But there are levels in the courses. Each one very extraordinary. You start off with magic trick snack courses, wondering, am I supposed to eat this? Is this edible? Yes, you are, and it is. You then move into bites of food layered with so many strong, but natural flavors from all over Japan and all over the local farmers' markets. Every bite was memorable, unique, and interesting. Especially with the stories they weave for you with every course. You feel like a member of Chef's family by the end of the night. You are then whisked away into the dessert room for the final few courses. More magic tricks. Yes, you are supposed to eat that, and they will be the best desserts you've ever had. Add on a nice, toasted green tea, and you'll wind down, wondering how you've actually been there for four hours! What a whirlwind. A note. Their non-alcoholic pairing is on another level. First of all, I feel like places like this just started offering NA drink pairings. And I feel like this another example of the evolution and elevation of the NA game. No longer do we have to suffer through pretending different juices mixed together are good enough. Sorekara used fermented teas, de-alcoholed champagne, and pickled fruit juices to deliver some mind-blowing sips that paired very well with the courses they were paired with. A truly unique experience that allows those to abstain to taste and pair and talk about drinks during dinner with everyone else they are dining with. Amazing. Overall, some people would never ever eat at a place like this. But everyone should. The journey is so long and wonderful and unique, the message they are trying to impart upon you really hits home by the end of the evening. And these moments in time we experience are the only time we'll get to experience them, and we should enjoy and savor them as best we can.

Pros: A journey through food and time like no other. Ambiance was beautiful. Huge rooms that feel like you're lost in a Japanese forest full of centuries old trees. Stunning in it's simplicity. Very humble. Service was incredible. It was very well scripted and felt very formal and casual at the same time. Each and ever server was so easy to talk to. Food was... I don't even have the words to describe the food. Fun, playful, simple, complex, genius, magical. All are accurate. You'll remember the best bites of the night for the rest of your life. Cons: There are no cons. Even the high price was fair for the experience we were given. I'd go again next weekend if I could. Tips: Get a drink pairing. Even if you're sober, the NA drink pairing was lovely and complex and delicious. Pay attention to the moments. Get off your phone, don't take any pictures, and just be present.

They deserve a Michelin 3-Star. I'm hoping they at least get 2 when businesses are up for assessment in 2025. Anything one or under would be an absolute shame. Prices are $270 + tax and fees. So.. not cheap. We spent just shy of $800 after drinks for the night. That's not a meal that a lot of people can afford, so I get a lot of people won't be able to try this place. I do worry a bit because there's so many Omakase / fine dining options now, with this being one of the more expensive places, so I hope they stay in business! First and foremost, it's best to think of this as a culinary journey. You're not just coming here for a meal, you're coming here for a story and an experience. You'll be eating tons of transformative and creative ways of preparing dishes. I've been lucky enough to travel the world, and eat at multitudes of fine dining establishments, with many Michelin stars under my belt. I would have to say this has so far been near the top, if not number 1. There were so many dishes where I felt like I reverted back to a child - a squeal of joy here, a gasp of amazement there, a sigh of happiness everywhere. There was just so many firsts during this four hour meal that when we left that night, it felt uncanny as if we were teleported back to real life, and the unfortunate responsibilities that came with it. Aside from that - I won't tell too much. The staff wants their patrons to limit their photos and description of that night as much as possible. One, to allow patrons to fully be in the moment, but also two, to keep the magical experience as authentic as possible for new customers. And the night was exactly that - magical! Also, huge shout out to not only Chef Shen for an amazing experience, but also to his staff for providing such a wonderful service and rapport. Special kudos to Tracy, Eugune and Austin who were memorable and great to us! We will definitely come back as soon as our budget allows it. :)

We love omakase, but this restaurant is not your traditional omakase- they are SO much more inventive and well deserving of all the Michelin stars (we came twice before they were recognized)! I have no doubt this place will be one of the most unique dining experiences you will ever encounter in your lifetime! From the start to finish of your journey here, you will see it is well planned out to create an unforgettable experience. The spaces are inviting. The food is delicious and presented in unique forms. The drink pairings, especially the non-alcoholic, are to die for!! Their staff are all attentive and you can tell they're a tight knit crew. Last time I was so full by the end, I wish I hadn't worn shapewear as I could not eat all my desserts but my husband gladly finished them for me! We will continue to come back for special occasions.

Our server Michelle was very nice and offered good input to our questions about the dishes. We also had the honor to talk with Chef Henry Moso- we had a great conversation about the sushi and he even presented us with a dish. Grateful and delighted! kabooki's quality and execution of the dishes are a work of art! Both times we sat at sushi table and watched all the sushi chefs doing their magic was a great show. We started with the hamachi carpaccio and the beef carpaccio and both were chefs kiss We had the bluefin tasting which was great progression of variety of bluefin. Mauro Truffle, Kona Kampachi, leche de Tigro were tasty unique options. The use of micro greens and flowers was really pretty besides being tasty!! Definitely worth checking out!!

We almost always have Asuka as our server, and she's seriously the sweetest. She's always so welcoming and somehow always recommends something that ends up becoming a new favorite. They've added more ramen to the menu since my last review, and the Tan Tan ramen has quickly become one of my favorites. The spicy sesame peanut broth is rich, flavorful, and has just the right amount of heat. If I'm not in the mood for ramen, I always go with the shiso butter yaki onigiri with a side of pork chashu. They torch the butter right at your table, which is such a fun touch, and it smells incredible. The mentaiko fries are still a must order every single visit, and for dessert you can't skip the matcha tiramisu or the taro ice cream with the hot green tea. The ramen, grilled meats, addicting appetizers, fun drinks, awesome atmosphere, and consistently amazing staff are exactly why I keep coming back. Easily one of my favorite spots in Orlando.

Kitchen is also open with a bar that looks directly into the kitchen as you dine. Drinks are simple. Plum wine, Japanese whisky options, beer, and soft drinks. Also a few mixed drinks, but again nothing crazy or exciting. Food was fresh and pretty good. The tuna sashimi appetizer was fantastic! The sauce is like a yum-yum and black sesame blend. Incredible. The bowl was wayyyyyy too sweet for me. Too much of the sauce. But the rice and chicken were pretty good. The pork belly is grilled and not seasoned much. So added it to the bowl to calm the sweet and it worked well. Overall, this place isn't worth queuing for, but still pretty good considering its location. Solid 6/10 for me.

So if you're a long time Central Florida resident, then you know that street is very walkable and super cute with the park nearby but also high end. I mean it has a Williams Sonoma, like casually. The restaurant is located at 525 S Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789. My boyfriend did get the reservation I think about a month in advance. It very much surprised me as one of my goals is to try new places in Orlando, and this was one that he had been to that I hadn't been to. So A++++ for him. So the restaurant had a super nice atmosphere but was very booked out. There were heart balloons at every table. So the decor was absolutely in the room with us lol. The service was very nice and I feel that they were very attentive and almost felt like maybe they had been trained to provide a certain feeling to customers. I'm sure they had been. Getting into the food, I'm not sure what the bill was. I wasn't allowed to look at it. I will say that I'm sure it was at least $100. I did leave feeling very full, but I do feel like that's a lot of money for me to feel full. We ordered the Misoyaki Butterfish, which was a Miso-glazed Chilean sea bass on a plate with ginger-sake eggplant, butter garlic sautéed spinach, and Japanese potato purée. It's a large plate and we did share, but it was not the whole fish. I think if I pay $45 for a fish, I want the whole fish. My rating is 8.5/10. It was incredibly delicious, but I want the rest of my fish. We also got the Kanpungi, which was fried Korean style boneless chicken bites smothered in a spicy soy sauce glaze. My rating of this is 9/10. I think it was great and was very filling for an appetizer. We accidentally ran into our friends at the restaurant, who had sent us a bottle of sake. The sake was great. We sent back a non-alcoholic cocktail they had and a sake based cocktail. I couldn't tell you what it tasted like, but the service presented and delivered back and forth between our table in a manner I can only describe as carrier pigeon-esque. They did great. I love fanfare. I think for a first date, this is a great place to bring someone you have been talking to for a little bit and want to show that you have a good stable job in this economy and like foods outside of American food. I wasn't on a first date as a note lol. My overall rating is 7.5/10. I mean I think everything was great, but that price stabbed me a little. My boyfriend did suggest to me that it would have been a higher rating if we had gotten one of the rolls. So that's on me. It is in a great walkable neighborhood though. So you are getting charged for ambiance.

The Florida roll was GAS ! I just started getting into spicy food and spicy tuna recently and this was just perfect. The right amount of bite and the spicy tuna on top tasted so good. It seems like they mash it up, which makes it easier to chew than typical raw tuna. A great savory roll and the flavor profile was just right, adding the eel sauce was a nice touch. The Alaska Roll speaks for itself, I mean look at that mountain of crunch I got it both times I went (inadvertently). I think I got it right with the name... I was calling it the volcano roll, but that has mango sauce on it. This one has kani on top and cream cheese inside and probably shrimp tempura.
