I've been here 2x and both times the food was impeccable. I got the Coconut Shrimp roll, Florida roll, and Alaska roll (2x) across my visits. The Coconut Shrimp roll was sweet from the coconut sauce and the coconut added a yummy flavor and texture to the roll, as well. If you like coconut and sweet rolls, you'll love this. The Florida roll was GAS ! I just started getting into spicy food and spicy tuna recently and this was just perfect. The right amount of bite and the spicy tuna on top tasted so good. It seems like they mash it up, which makes it easier to chew than typical raw tuna. A great savory roll and the flavor profile was just right, adding the eel sauce was a nice touch. The Alaska Roll speaks for itself, I mean look at that mountain of crunch I got it both times I went (inadvertently). I think I got it right with the name... I was calling it the volcano roll, but that has mango sauce on it. This one has kani on top and cream cheese inside and probably shrimp tempura. I really loved this roll, like a mountain of flavor every bite. The atmosphere is small with authentic looking Japanese decor and quiet. Very nice restaurant. Clean and super friendly staff. Came here for lunch with some coworkers and we all ordered the 3 roll special. The special comes with miso soup or clear soup and if you want the house salad (like I did) there's like an extra $2 charge. The restaurant wasn't super busy when we arrived but I will say it took a little longer than anticipated to receive our rolls, which again were more basic ones since we did the lunch special. So on to the main event: the sushi! Definitely fresh, nothing tasted off putting or stale. However, the overall flavor of the rolls were lacking hence my 4 star review. So, my wife discovered this place when it firt opened as she goes to Pilates right next door. She had lunch there after class and said it was spectacular, even though they had just opened. So, a week or so later, I decided to join her. It's small, but well laid out, booths on one side, then a separate area with tables and the Sushi Bar in the back. We chose the Sushi Bar and were greeted by the 2 chefs. Since they did not have a liquor license yet, I brought 2 cans of Sapporo beer that I bought at Publix, they kindly brought me a glass and put the second one in the fridge for me. I really enjoyed the lobster dragon roll, never had a roll like this before. My friend loved the tuna crispy rice but it was a bit spicy for me. We were not a big fan of the egg fried rice, it was not at all what we were expecting. However it tasted ok. This is definitely my new favorite sushi spot! It's in Lake Mary but if you're in the Orlando area it's definitely worth the drive. They have a great happy hour that I was excited to try. The shrimp tempura appetizer was disappointing and not worth it, it came with two shrimp only and a ton of tempura vegetables to supplement for the missing shrimp. Special fried rice was good in flavor but lacked protein and veggies. Lastly our Florida roll was delicious all the perfect hints of flavor in one! This place just opened two weeks ago. I was out running errands and so glad I pulled over and did a quick yelp search. I'm always down for sushi and love trying new places. I'm so glad I did! The place is clean and I love how it's decorated and designed. It's small but the design makes it feel a bit bigger while maintaining an intimate atmosphere. The service was wonderful. Both different from each other yet equally delicious. The texture, flavor, complexity- all a 10/10 and the tuna was so good and melted in your mouth - high quality! Miyaji is super close to me, and new to the plaza. We went for lunch on Sunday, and we ordered 2 appetizers, the calamari was good (whole pieces) and the hamachi jalepeno was really good. I got the Yummy roll (delicious, spicy) and the Chili Mango (very good). The portions for rolls are good. We also got a few different sushi- sweet shrimp, tobiko, salmon, himachi, and a shrimp tempura appetizer and it was good as well. The hot tea also was very good. Staff also brought out mochi ice cream as a special dessert, I didnt take a picture we ate it too quick. It was very good. Welcome to the neighborhood, Miyaji! Absolutely delightful bento lunch experience here today to the recently-opened Miyaji in Lake Mary. There are many dining options in this plaza - Miyaji is mere steps from the popular Don Julio's - but Miyaji stands out in terms of friendliness, cleanliness, and quality. (Also, maybe one of the nicest restrooms I have ever seen in a restaurant.) I was one of the first to dine-in today and my meal was excellent. I went for a sweet tea (delicious) and a steak bento which came with the usual trimmings (miso, salad, California roll, etc.). Everything was excellent - the salad was super fresh, the miso was simple but perfect. My steak was cooked perfectly and even the darn Yum Yum sauce you get with your order was spot-on. Only open for about 2 months, Miyaji has the friendliest staff and my order arrived in just enough time to appreciate everything was made fresh. Miyaji is a little known gem with some of the best sushi in the Sanford / Lake Mary area. My absolute go-to dishes are the peanut avocado roll, sweet potato roll, and the crispy seared tuna. My wife loves the oysters and they are always fresh, just not my thing personally. But the rolls are better than others I've tried elsewhere. Looking for sushi, go to Miyaji.
