    Salad and Miso Soup

Was down in Lake Mary for a business meeting and stopped here for lunch after a flight into Orlando. It was a Wednesday... and it was a "slow lunch" so I had the place to myself. I think I walked over from the hotel around 12:30 and was worried about the lunch rush. People did start trickling in, but I was welcomed in and instructed to pick a table. I chose one of the tables closest to the window. There is a darker/dimmer vibe here and I was hoping to look out the window and people watch. Service was great! I had a japanese soda, a lunch special: chicken katsu and 2 california rolls. [in all fairness, I had woken up that day around 4:30 to catch an early flight and didn't have breakfast]. Since it was a slow lunch, everything came out blazing fast and delicious. The lunch special included a house salad with ginger dressing and miso soup which were both solid. I would come back to try all the varieties of rolls, but that chicken katsu hit the spot - was perfectly cooked and delicious with the rice portion it comes with. I did get "riced-out" a bit with the california rolls, but that was my own fault... and yes... I finished everything ;)

Quality elevated sushi restaurant in a neighborhood strip mall. Straight forward rolls with a good taste. Server did their best to keep up on a busy weekend night.

    Sashimi Lunch Box $15.95

A few coworkers and I wanted to try something out of our norm for lunch so we decided to give Samurai Sushi a try. We arrived around 11:15am, were promptly seated and our server, Annie was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was not overly busy and the available seating areas were clean/orderly. I decided on the 7-piece Sashimi Lunch Box for $15.95. In my opinion, this is a bit pricy for a lunch item. The Lunch Box is served with miso soup, house salad, fried rice, clear noodle/seaweed salad, and cucumber squid salad. My meal was delicious and was presented well; however, I was still hungry when I left. My coworkers ordered (1) Any Two Rolls ($11.95); (2) Chicken Tempura Lunch Box ($11.95), and (3) Teriyaki Steak Lunch Box ($19.95). Once again, everyone was happy with their meals, but were still hungry when leaving. So, for the four of us to dine in, our bill came to $67.14 minus tip. Annie was great, so obviously we tipped 20% brining our bill near $80.00. All-in-all if you are not on a budget and can afford to spend roughly $20 per person to have lunch here, I recommend giving Samurai Sushi a try. The food was delicious, service was great, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Although I enjoyed my experience here, I cannot make it a staple for lunch. I can go down the road a piece to Tomasino's, order their lunch special for $8-$9 and walk out stuffed for the rest of the day; there is no comparison. Regardless, I would definitely return to Samurai Sushi in the future they have a good thing going; however, I might just visit on special occasions.

Freshest, most custom made sushi you will find and locally owned. Service is phenomenal and the attention from the staff is second to none!!

I dropped by here for lunch as I was heading from Longwood to Heathrow. The atmosphere was for me more to a darker old world feel. I was greeted right away away when I entered and told being single I could seat where enter I wanted. The menu seemed to me to have a large selection. I decided on the 3 Roll lunch with Miso Soup. I had the Dynamite Roll, Alaskan Roll and the Salmon Avocado Roll. All 3 Rolls were very good and the service was spot on.

We always enjoy eating here the food is always fresh and delicious only one time they mess up on our today order. They have a happy hour menu special on sushi. The last time we went we try different dishes. Both were delicious.

I was craving Sushi and saw that Samurai Sushi has a lunch special. The deal was 3 sushi rolls with a salad or soup, for $10.95. The restaurant is bigger than I thought, and I guess that not many people know about this special because it wasn't packed. I ordered the Crunchy roll, special eel roll, and shrimp cucumber roll with a house salad. The salad was ok, nothing too special. The sushi was good, but not great. The Crunchy roll stood out to me the most. My wife got the chicken teriyaki lunch Bento Box and I was kinda jealous. She had her teriyaki chicken breast, with fried rice, house salad, and clear noodles. Definitely something I'd try, if I were to visit for lunch again. They have a happy hour from 5pm-7pm, along with sushi bar seating so you can see all the sushi artistry go down, or swing down some sake at the bar.

Sat here for almost 15 minutes the place is not busy whatsoever BUT I am the only BLACK person in here and somehow some way they continue to walk past me not even offer me a drink of water! Very horrible it's 2022 get over you fckn racist ways bastards !

The atmosphere here is cosy and the food was really good. This is a good place to eat in my opinion. The sushi was also able to be customized, so that was pretty cool. I came with some friends and i consider coming here to try again.

Great place. Quickly seated. Food arrived quick. The cowboy steak was perfectly cooked, I got medium. Just the right amount of tenderness. 16oz. Massive portion. Wings were deep fried / lemon pepper. Loved it. The sashimi was fresh. Host was friendly. The lady who sat us down was rude though, took 1 start off for that.

Sushi was disgusting. Everything inside it was obviously old. Just threw away about half of it, the other half was chewed and spit out.

The Coconut Shrimp roll was sweet from the coconut sauce and the coconut added a yummy flavor and texture to the roll, as well. If you like coconut and sweet rolls, you'll love this. The Florida roll was GAS ! I just started getting into spicy food and spicy tuna recently and this was just perfect. The right amount of bite and the spicy tuna on top tasted so good. It seems like they mash it up, which makes it easier to chew than typical raw tuna. A great savory roll and the flavor profile was just right, adding the eel sauce was a nice touch. The Alaska Roll speaks for itself, I mean look at that mountain of crunch I got it both times I went (inadvertently). I think I got it right with the name... I was calling it the volcano roll, but that has mango sauce on it. This one has kani on top and cream cheese inside and probably shrimp tempura. I really loved this roll, like a mountain of flavor every bite. The atmosphere is small with authentic looking Japanese decor and quiet. A nice spot for a week day dinner (might get crowded on the weekend). Really great food though overall. Ate these rolls as leftovers both times and was good the next day

The special comes with miso soup or clear soup and if you want the house salad (like I did) there's like an extra $2 charge. The restaurant wasn't super busy when we arrived but I will say it took a little longer than anticipated to receive our rolls, which again were more basic ones since we did the lunch special. So on to the main event: the sushi! Definitely fresh, nothing tasted off putting or stale. However, the overall flavor of the rolls were lacking hence my 4 star review. I would come back just to try other items but the three rolls I ordered off the lunch menu were 1. Seared tuna scallion roll (6 pieces and rather small) 2. Spicy krab roll (this was pretty mid, 8 pieces) and 3. Spicy salmon roll (not spicy at all lol and again just okay)

My hubby ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box. I got to try the chicken and freshly steamed rice. The chicken was juicy and the teriyaki was nicely mild and not to sweet. The bento box was the perfect amount of food for him. He actually left stuffed like a cabbage roll. Lol Both rolls were yummy with no need for eel sauce, spicy mayo, or soy sauce on the side. I will also include that the fresh ginger slices are to die for. I could be a ginger snob though. Lol Highly recommend the spring rolls as well. They have the perfect crispness and flavor to them. Stopped in for dinner with Nancy around 6:45pm before our night out on the town…read more It's was pretty much everything I expected; small family run restaurant, great food, but not over the top fancy. The restaurant wasn't too busy, two small groups other than us. We were promptly greeted and seated at a booth. Our server was most likely one of the owners as she was seated right behind us with her son. I assume the man who seated us was the dad because he kept tabs on the son when Mom was taking care of customers. The chef might have also been a family member as well; regardless, they took great care of us during our visit, but it is something to note. There are a lot of menu options, so I recommend checking it out before arriving otherwise you may need some time to make a decision. Once we placed our order our food was out in less than 10 minutes which was pretty amazing. We started with the seaweed salad ($7), which we thought was a little small for the price; however, it was good, but know that they add thinly sliced cucumber into the salad as a filler. For our main course I chose the crazy roll ($11.45), Nancy chose the Rock N Roll ($9.45), and we also purchased the chicken fried rice to share ($12.45). The chef does a great job with the presentation and the food was delicious. For the most part The restaurant dining area is well organized and clean. When I got up to use the restroom I noticed a heavy sewer odor coming from the area. The men's room looked nice at first but as I looked closer I noticed the tile floor is missing grout and the restroom just needs better housekeeping. My wife said the ladies room was a disaster and there was foam spray around the base of the toilet and it was turning black, yuck! Well that's probably where to smell was coming from. About an hour after dinner I became very gassy which is unusual for me than I had an upset stomach the rest of the evening. Unfortunately this issue progressed further through Sunday and I've been house ridden the remainder of the weekend. I'm thinking something was up with my roll because Nancy didn't have any issues with hers. I hate to blame the restaurant for this issue but with being down to one meal a day I can pretty much weed out my lunch on Friday as the culprit. If I did come back I would probably stick to the hot food just to play it safe, but with so many other options in the area Its hard to say I will be back anytime soon.

Lots of items on the menu. I knew right away I wanted the seaweed salad and a roll. I got the rock and roll roll which was awesome. The seaweed salad was good but there wasn't enough of it for me. Underneath the seaweed salad was a bed of sliced cucumber which was good but I'd rather have more seaweed salad!! Scott got a roll with shrimp and salmon. And we got the chicken fried rice which was awesome. All the food was good going down... but then later on that evening Scott began to feel sick. Something that he ate at this restaurant that had bacteria in it. . I mean We are eating raw fish.. As we went back to the bathrooms to wash our hands we smelled the overwhelming odor of sewage they had some old signs that set out of order on the wall so I'm guessing they had a problem. So that's my review The food was awesome!... but Scott got sick so I don't know if I'll go back.

We mainly ordered from their happy hour menu which included the ahi tuna tacos, bacon steak, milk bread, and brussel sprouts. The milk bread and bacon steak were my personal appetizer favorites. For areas of improvement, I think the brussel sprouts could've been drizzled with more glaze and blanched/boiled longer. All in all, I would go back in a heartbeat.
