I got the brisket classic dish. The brisket was tender delicious in fact but the over all dish was way too salty. My God I feel like I should go to the nearest ER and have them check my blood pressure. Did anyone say salt lik. The problem with the dish is wnen you add salt and add a sauce that is salty and have melted monster cheese you have 3x the norm amount of salt. This dish waz so I think I am good till the next century I like the mushrooms to give so n e contrast but all in all wouldn't do it again read more

I was excited to finally try this place. The food looked good and I've heard good things from locals. Unfortunately, two of my friends and I got kicked out while waiting in line for drinks. Apparently this bartender was having a bad day and took it out on us. We came in the venue with drinks from the festival outside, instead of asking us to finish our drinks or go outside he lashed out and told us to leave without explaining why we couldn't have our drinks. read more

The menu here looked interesting, so we decided to stop in. It is quite a cute place, I love the garage doors.The Happy Hour specials are great and you don't have to sit at the bar! We had Pimento Macaroni and Cheese Egg Rolls, Biz Fries, and Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders. They were only $4 each. A bargain, especially the fries- the serving was huge! The Egg Rolls were only ok. The sliders were good, know that the Devil's Cut Sauce is HOT! We also got the Brussels Sprouts. They were amazing!!! Because we only had appetizers, we also tried dessert. I had the Whiskey Apple Cobbler. There was too much whiskey- it was all you could taste. The alcohol could have been cut by ice cream, but the restaurant doesn't have ice cream. The first few times I went here it was excellent. Lots of food, great taste. 3 small Luke warm pieces of brisket and warm4 pork belly slices. The pork belly was good, and the broccoli but the brisket was bland. i live like right down the street and was there in 45 mins like they said. 28$ including tip on a small dinner. If this was based solely on service, it would be a 5. Our server was wonderful and attending. However, the food was subpar at best. I ate the ribs, mac and cheese, and fries. All three of these were completely bland. My friend got the pulled pork and felt the same. All the food lacked flavor and was not worth any of the money we payed. I may come back for a drink, but never for food. read more

In a really cute area right on Canton Square - love the ambiance and environment. Indoor/outdoor dining. Super friendly staff - bar and dining area attract a good crowd. Good beer selection. Stopped in for Happy Hour with a coworker and the food was phenomenal to say the least. The things I could eat over and over ... the homemade crackling, Mac and Cheese, Brussel Sprouts. Can't wait to go again. Great southern food right here in Baltimore!!!! Service was superb as well! read more

Bar tender was aggressive and attacked us bc we didn't litter cups from the street fest outside of this bar before walking in. Wouldn't recommend if you like to be treated as a human. We sat ourselves down and It took them 10 mins to get us menu. It also took them one hour and half to bring us the food. Literally one hour and half. Dished didn't come out at the same time and some fries are cold. I don't know the kitchen is under staffed or the employees and owner just don't care anymore. read more

I really want to like this place especially with the nice seating and the garage doors and the constant changing of ownership. I really want this concept to stick as southern food is one of my favorites. I have enjoyed the pimento Mac and cheese spring rolls and a few of their other main menu dishes. Brunch, however, was a huge disappointment. My friends and I ordered a few dishes and they all came out looking spectacular and we were so excited to dig in. The chicken and waffles were so salty we could barely eat half. We opted for the classic crispy chicken since we don't like too much spice but it was so salty we could barely taste anything. The waffle tasted like someone mistook a cup of flour for a cup of salt. It looked beautiful but unfortunately did not taste good at all. Next was the fried chicken Benedict. This was probably the most successful dish out of the three. The eggs were poached perfectly and the chicken added a nice taste. The biscuits on the other hand were dry and had a weird after taste that made the whole dish have an overly sweet taste. Not as terrible as the waffles but still could use some improvement. Finally we had the biscuits and gravy which was mostly biscuits with a little bit of gravy. There were huge chunks of sausage in the gravy which did not appear cooked. The biscuits were the same weirdly sweet with a strange aftertaste that affected the dish as a whole. I'm hoping this is just a few glitches as they work their menu out and get the menus down but they need a lot of improvement before I would try brunch again. read more

I visited this place for the first time on a Saturday night. It was very crowded downstairs so we decided to go upstairs where it was less crowded. It was 4 ppl in our party. 2 of us ordered food- both order wings&fries. They ordered 2 different flavorsbut both loved them, saying they were very flavorful. One of the bartenders ,I cant remember her name wasn't very pleasant. But Summer rocked ,very personable(its an Aries thing ;) We also met the manager Larry who very friendly & he came to chat with us at our table. Customer service is big for me so they get bonus points for that. I will be back &trying the food this time read more

Worst. Service. Ever. I feel like every time I come here the managers are shadier and shadier. Walked in on a Thursday night and asked the specials...ladies night. Half off all night for all alcohol. Great! Ordered a great bottle of wine. Got the tab. Full price. The manager fought with us about how on 1st Thursday's they do not honor that special even though that is what we were told. She refused to honor the price and charged us full price. After several visits full of disappointment I'm writing this place off. There are plenty of bars and restaurants at the square that will honor their specials and provide great customer service. We won't be coming back. read more

We got take out. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn't measure up. I got the BLT with potato salad. My wife got the chicken sliders with fries and we split the mac n cheese. The mac n cheese didn't look good but it actually was! The potato salad was pretty good too. my favorite part about this bar is that when the weather is nice they roll up the garage door style siding and you can sit half inside/half outside. the atmosphere in general is really nice, the decor is industrial but still warm and the bar is substantial and has enough breathing room that you can actually stand up and drink. the food has always been ok, they tend to make things a little spicier than *I* prefer but i'm also aware that i am generally a wimp when it comes to that stuff. we did, however, take my boyfriend's picky cousin and she loved everything sooo maybe i'm the picky one now? read more

I am very disappointed in the bouncer from last week. My friend and I were excited to visit with our family and he was denied entrance based on the bouncer's want to hang with me. A bouncer should never have the authority to not let someone in based on his thought that he has a chance with a girl. If my friend had been acting belligerent I would have been accommodating and taken my friend home, but we were first going out. I am disappointed in his behavior and will recommend that none of my friends or family attend the bar again because of it. read more

Incredible! Very cool decor, awesome garage style doors in the front with a cool corner view of the canton square area. The food absolutely blew my mind! We had the fried chicken taco appetizer which was fantastic. Then we had the chicken and waffles which was the equivalent of what I would imagine a rainbow of deliciousness dancing around on my tastebuds. The brisket was also incredible and very generous portions. Great beer selection and the cocktails looked delicious, although I didn't get a cocktail this time around I will absolutely be back very very soon for some drinks and more food. My boyfriend and I came to Southern Provisions for an early dinner and few drinks. We were very pleased with the experience, and loved the happy hour specials ($3 drafts on certain beers/$4 wine/$5 select apps) the Mac and cheese egg rolls are a must (so good we ordered 2!) and there food was very good (I had the grilled cheese and my boyfriend had the sliders). They have outdoor seating which is great for the summer. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a casual night out! read more

This place is always solid. I know it's new, but this is the best version of this restaurant by far. I highly recommend the brisket for brunch. I went to Speakeasy early, and that place is terrible. They have better outdoor seating, but Southern is a much better establishment. Whatever you do don't go to speakeasy and go somewhere else. read more

Went here on a Friday night with some friends. We ordered some food and drinks and had a great time. A few days later I noticed the bartender had charged my card a higher amount than what I tipped. I called and talked to two different managers and they both said they would get back to me after checking my receipt. A week passed and I still hadn't heard so I called back and spoke to a manager and she told she found my receipt. She was very rude - she talked down to me and completely justified the bartender's actions because she didn't agree with my original tip amount. Having worked in restaurants for years, I can't believe I was being treated this way by a manager just because she thought my tip wasn't high enough. I wish she would have just apologized. If you plan on going here I suggest you keep a copy of your receipt or pay with cash - I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to. read more
