I tried Solid coffee one time only before I tried it again (not sure if that made any sense). The first time I came I felt a bit intimidated by the gentleman behind the register so I did not feel so comfortable. I am not sure if it was his aura or what haha but he didn't seem quite friendly to me. The smile seemed fake. I came back another time because I wanted to give it another chance. The lady behind the register was a lot nicer. She helped me decide on what to order and even asked me if I was ok with the whole milk or wanted a substitute. I ordered their iced latte and a vanilla latte for my husband. She was a bit slow to make it (I was the only order she had to make and it took awhile to make both our drinks) not sure if she was new. It was very good though! I loved their espresso. I even came back the next day to try their honey oat latte which was also good. The lady who worked the next day I came was nice enough to let me taste their oat milk prior to ordering it. Excellent customer service now! Next time I might try their teas. The place gets pretty crowded so sometimes there might not be a seat available for you. They also have small food selections and pastries. I will definitely be coming back here! read more

I gotta give props to the young lady with the cool piercings and tattoos! She always delivers in friendliness, hospitality, and service! The coffee and ambiance is usually on point. I went yesterday to get a coffee and my order was taken by the young tall guy with long hair, a cap, and eyeglasses. I made a mistake by not telling him I wanted ice on the side and not in the coffee when I was ordering (Baristas typically put soo much ice in lattes/cold brews that it waters down the coffee taste but that's neither here or there). In any case, the guy gave off an annoyed demeanor when I requested to get another cup of coffee with ice on the side. He did, in fact, help with my request at no charge but came at the cost of him exhibiting annoyance/bother and me feeling uncomfortable. I'm thinking, if my request is going to bother/annoy you, then just tell me "sorry I won't be able to accommodate your request or you'll have to pay for another cup of coffee." My request is that if the owner(s) can instruct and/or remind the young baristas about customer service and the value of maintaining friendliness/hospitality like the young lady I mentioned earlier. read more

I visited this place twice, the first time was a good experience, the second time was just ok. I'm giving it a 4 stars because the flavor of the strawberry matcha and sea salt sycamore was pretty good. So, where I'm knocking down points comes down to a few things. Service was ok. You can clearly tell they are understaffed and the guy who took my order (who was there on my second visit), didn't seem that warm or welcoming. I asked what the sea salt sycamore was, and he gave a really brief response that didn't seem all too enthusiastic. Maybe that's how he is or he's tired, but I just didn't think he was all that friendly and inviting. There was also no one behind us so he could've taken time to go over the menu since we're clearly first timers. However, I did let it go because of how fast our drinks came out and how they tasted. I'm a matcha girlie and I enjoyed the strawberry matcha, which had a decent matcha and subtle strawberry flavor. I also liked that the drink wasn't too sweet. So, the second time I went is where I knocked down the points. I had made an online order for 4 drinks, and ended up having to wait for almost 40 mins for it and it would've been longer if I hadn't gotten up to inquire about it. I had already been in the store and waiting a good amount of time. At the time, the same guy who took my order the first time I went there was training someone. A couple ladies with kids who came into the store after me had their orders taken and their drinks were made quickly, and I had wondered about my order since clearly, I had made the order way in advance. When I went up to the guy, he looked over at his other tablet for online orders and finally noticed my order had been sitting there. He appeared very nonchalant about not seeing it. He did apologize and I didn't make a fuss, but it just didn't sit right with me with how he didn't seem to be concerned about it (at least that's what it felt to me). He was likely distracted training the girl and completely forgot about the online orders. And when I got my order, the sea salt sycamore tasted the same as before, very good with a strong coffee flavor, but the banana latte was disappointing. It barely had any banana flavor as opposed to other places like Phin Smith. Overall, I think the service here could be a little better and so I hope with more staff, small but important details don't get overlooked. I actually would like to see this place grow as I support local businesses over places like Starbucks or Coffee Bean. Despite some of the mishaps, the vibe and location of this place is good. Plenty of parking and the place has a chill ambiance. I'd probably come back again just to check out the food, but hopefully the things I had issues with improve by then. read more

Unfortunately, this was not a solid experience. We ordered a vanilla bean latte, matcha tropical, and a croissant (tipped 15%). The space is idyllic for remote work but perhaps due to staffing shortage (the cashier was also one of the two baristas) the wait was longer than typical coffee shops I've been to. But the most disappointing part was both the orders were not filled to the brim. Either lack of actual coffee/matcha or ice, which made it looked incomplete. The taste was okay. I guess that's the downside of having a bigger menu. It affects quality and customer service. read more

When this parking lot is packed, it's really packed and every time I've come into the shopping center it is either feast or famine. Most of the people who regularly visit the shopping center really can't drive, so really be on the lookout for people going the wrong way and/or double parking. Customer service at the bar is usually really good if not a little slow. Been coming here for years and was glad to see the instore service and menu has continued to improve. But their coffee roasting has seemed to have gotten worse somehow. The last two bags I bought were terrible. Their blend was filled with quakers. I was picking out one or two every 19 grams or so. The last bag I had, picture attached had a good scoop of grinds just dumped in there with the whole beans. Such a mess. I honestly expected more from a roaster with the confidence to charge 28 dollar or more for a bag of beans. Also their bean selections do nothing for those that might want something fruity or acidic. All their selection at least when I went on November and December were blends or single origins with base notes of chocolate or toffee. Really disappointed how little they have progressed over the years as a roaster. Their cafe space and service has always been their notable quality. read more

It was nestled in at the end of a plaza with a huge parking lot and there were lots of spots to sit inside so I'd also say it's a great place to study. I got a Honey Lavender latte with oat milk and he got a Pumpkin Spice Latte with regular milk. They must have made these syrups in house because they were so great! I hate how sugary and sweet the Starbucks PSL is and I'm so glad to say that if you hate those, this place redeemed my expectations of a good flavored latte. These were both delicious and flavorful without being overly sweet. We also got a vegan donut (caramel with coconut flakes and chocolate drizzle) and a spinach and cheese croissant to pair which were both great too even though the spinach was slightly on the cold side but this wasn't an issue when the coffees warmed us up. I wish they had a location in the Bay Area but for now if you're in the Artesia area, I highly recommend this coffee spot for great flavored lattes. read more
