I have to admit, my drink was a bit on the milky side with just a subtle hint of ube, but the overall vibe of the café totally made up for it. The space is super inviting with plenty of seating, two gender-neutral restrooms, and it's even pet-friendly--which was perfect since my pup got to chill on my lap while we sipped our drinks and caught up. I'm leaving this review because it's been years since the taste started changing, and I eventually stopped going. It's really disappointing. I'm not sure if the owner changed, but it now seems to be run only by part-timers, and I haven't seen a manager or owner around, which might be part of the problem. The last time I visited, I ordered a hot latte. The barista steamed milk for my drink and someone else's order at the same time, then poured the other person's first and used the leftover for mine. When a latte is made that way, the milk and microfoam don't blend properly, so it loses the whole point of what a latte should be. It tasted so bad that I decided I wouldn't go back again. I was trying to look for a coffee shop that you can go in, its not too noisy, allow for work to be done and people with similar ideology. You know, i came here in between my work meeting because I really needed 1) wifi 2) coffee 3) charging station. this location have all 3 and friendly coffee bartenders that are super friendly and are just there vibing. The matcha looked great at first glance, but the taste didn't quite live up to the presentation. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte, but it barely had any strawberry flavor -- just a faint hint once mixed. The matcha itself was almost nonexistent, and the drink ended up tasting mostly like plain milk. I usually enjoy a sweet, milky matcha, but this one missed the mark for me. Also worth mentioning -- even though the shop wasn't busy at all, I had to wait a few minutes before anyone came to help or greet me. You could hear staff talking in the back, so it felt a little awkward just standing there for a while. This is one of my favorite coffee places ever! I've been to so many different coffee shops and this one has good coffee. I like that their drinks aren't way too sweet like others. My go-to is the Spanish latte or your classic vanilla latte, but the fungi yummy as well. Pastries are yummy, and they do serve food until 2pm! Sat 11:46am I slid in at the perfect time to secure a front door parking spot. Immediately after, the parking lot got extremely congested. The lanes are narrow and the parking lot is tight so there's not a lot of wiggle room to go around people that are waiting. The interior is modern and peaceful with wood rafters. I ordered a gorilla because I was intrigued by the idea of peanut butter and banana in coffee. The coffee was good. I was expecting a stronger impact of flavor. I could barely taste the peanut butter and the banana came at the very end in tiny chunks at the bottom. I like the menu beverage offerings and was extremely interested in the giant croissants in the case. The menu has been recently updated with at least 3 banana options and shuffling off the holiday specials. I'll be back to try some of the other flavors and a croissant. read more

Came by to try their Croffles, but unfortunately, I came in when the kitchen was closed. Instead, I tried their Almond croissant and Dark Chocolate Mocha. The almond croissant had a nice buttery filling and a soft flaky texture to it. Made for an excellent dunking experience. If you check in, they give a free 8 oz house brew (Yelp) We got the Dark Chocolate Mocha latte and a house brew. Both were very good! Dark Chocolate Mocha was not too sweet - reminds me of the Ancient Mayan from Coffee Connection (in West LA). Very balanced and just delight in a cup. Didnt think they would be open on xmas eve but yay! I was happy to see they had matcha so i got a hot matcha latte with some vanilla. Perfection! My low key measure of a great coffee spot is a good black drip and chocolate chip cookie. They hit all the marks. Their house drip (Ethiopia) will punch you in the face with bright flavor notes and their chocolate chip cookie was chewy and abundant - copious choco chips spread almost like a layer the whole way through and slight crisp to some of the edges. The team was knowledgeable and passionate about the menu which was nice. Shout out to Jason for the tips on which beans are worth a pour over and for the excellent Honey Oat Latte! I've gone here for several years. Love the service, the amount of seating and that they have a bathroom. Sucks meeting friends for tea/coffee and then there's no where to go. I went in to the coffee shop to kill some time in between seeing patients. The AC was on full blast and I was freezing but its hot out so I could understand why. SOLID COFFEE IS SOLIDLY GREAT! Anytime I can go to a local coffee shop and avoid the Green Mermaid I do. This place is great, it's in a small center off South Street in Artesia near Cerritos. What I love is they have pop ups all the time on the weekends that I get messages about. Lately Saturday is a breakfast burrito pop up and Sunday is a Hawaiian food pop up. After coming her a handful times over the last few years, thought it would be apt to provide a lovely review of Solid Coffee Roasters in Artesia. We stopped by on a chill Veteran's Day afternoon to grab some coffee beans and of course some coffee! Note - 5 star reviews for me is like getting 95+/100 in OChem so just cause somewhere gets 4 stars, doesn't mean they aren't great! Inside 4/5 Very clean and neat place with plenty of seating. I appreciate the simple design and open space where it doesn't look too open, but you aren't crowded either. My only qualm is that the seats aren't that comfortable and there aren't any outlets I could identify. Perhaps intentional? If so, great design management to keep the crowds moving in and out. Staff 5/5 Coming from LA which has a mixed bag of hipster snob to overly kind folk, I appreciate the authenticity of the staff that helped us today. In particular, we were in-between two drinks - Sea Salt Sycamore and Cloud Fire Brew - which the barista rattled off the ingredients with complimentary adjectives. However, what got me sold on the Sea Salt Sycamore was that the barista mentioned he was addicted to it for a year when it released! So ended up getting the Sycamore and my lady got the Cloud Fire. Very happy with our choices~ Coffee 4/5 As I mentioned above, I got the Sea Salt Sycamore and my lady got the Cloud Fire Brew. The Sycamore is a mixed latte, which if you are sensitive to sweetness I recommend going half sweet. I enjoyed the balance of the drink (probably because it wasn't too sweet) and the subtle maple + sea salt notes. The Cloud Fire Brew (cool name btw) tasted like ice cream! The wood fire salt + foam really makes a difference. One of the few coffee places you can sit and study at and they won't blast AC to get you to leave faster. Coffee/drink quality and offerings are on par with other high rated coffee places in the area, mocha is my go to. Place is clean and tries to offer as much seating as it can comfortably hold. Workers are nice and offer water. Wifi details are written on the glass. They also serve some baked goods they can warm up for you, though the everything croissant I got (otherwise yummy) had overwhelming chunks of cream cheese in it, so maybe avoid that one. I tried Solid coffee one time only before I tried it again (not sure if that made any sense). The first time I came I felt a bit intimidated by the gentleman behind the register so I did not feel so comfortable. I am not sure if it was his aura or what haha but he didn't seem quite friendly to me. The smile seemed fake. I came back another time because I wanted to give it another chance. The lady behind the register was a lot nicer. She helped me decide on what to order and even asked me if I was ok with the whole milk or wanted a substitute. I ordered their iced latte and a vanilla latte for my husband. She was a bit slow to make it (I was the only order she had to make and it took awhile to make both our drinks) not sure if she was new. It was very good though! I loved their espresso. I even came back the next day to try their honey oat latte which was also good. The lady who worked the next day I came was nice enough to let me taste their oat milk prior to ordering it. Excellent customer service now! Next time I might try their teas. I visited this place twice, the first time was a good experience, the second time was just ok. I'm giving it a 4 stars because the flavor of the strawberry matcha and sea salt sycamore was pretty good. So, where I'm knocking down points comes down to a few things. Service was ok. You can clearly tell they are understaffed and the guy who took my order (who was there on my second visit), didn't seem that warm or welcoming. I asked what the sea salt sycamore was, and he gave a really brief response that didn't seem all too enthusiastic. Maybe that's how he is or he's tired, but I just didn't think he was all that friendly and inviting. There was also no one behind us so he could've taken time to go over the menu since we're clearly first timers. However, I did let it go because of how fast our drinks came out and how they tasted. I'm a matcha girlie and I enjoyed the strawberry matcha, which had a decent matcha and subtle strawberry flavor. I also liked that the drink wasn't too sweet. So, the second time I went is where I knocked down the points. I had made an online order for 4 drinks, and ended up having to wait for almost 40 mins for it and it would've been longer if I hadn't gotten up to inquire about it. I had already been in the store and waiting a good amount of time. At the time, the same guy who took my order the first time I went there was training someone. A couple ladies with kids who came into the store after me had their orders taken and their drinks were made quickly, and I had wondered about my order since clearly, I had made the order way in advance. When I went up to the guy, he looked over at his other tablet for online orders and finally noticed my order had been sitting there. He appeared very nonchalant about not seeing it. He did apologize and I didn't make a fuss, but it just didn't sit right with me with how he didn't seem to be concerned about it (at least that's what it felt to me). He was likely distracted training the girl and completely forgot about the online orders. And when I got my order, the sea salt sycamore tasted the same as before, very good with a strong coffee flavor, but the banana latte was disappointing. It barely had any banana flavor as opposed to other places like Phin Smith. Overall, I think the service here could be a little better and so I hope with more staff, small but important details don't get overlooked. I actually would like to see this place grow as I support local businesses over places like Starbucks or Coffee Bean. Despite some of the mishaps, the vibe and location of this place is good. Plenty of parking and the place has a chill ambiance. I'd probably come back again just to check out the food, but hopefully the things I had issues with improve by then. read more

I gotta give props to the young lady with the cool piercings and tattoos! She always delivers in friendliness, hospitality, and service! The coffee and ambiance is usually on point. I went yesterday to get a coffee and my order was taken by the young tall guy with long hair, a cap, and eyeglasses. I made a mistake by not telling him I wanted ice on the side and not in the coffee when I was ordering (Baristas typically put soo much ice in lattes/cold brews that it waters down the coffee taste but that's neither here or there). In any case, the guy gave off an annoyed demeanor when I requested to get another cup of coffee with ice on the side. He did, in fact, help with my request at no charge but came at the cost of him exhibiting annoyance/bother and me feeling uncomfortable. I'm thinking, if my request is going to bother/annoy you, then just tell me "sorry I won't be able to accommodate your request or you'll have to pay for another cup of coffee." My request is that if the owner(s) can instruct and/or remind the young baristas about customer service and the value of maintaining friendliness/hospitality like the young lady I mentioned earlier. read more
