I live and work on the other side of town so when I am in the East Valley on an early morning I go out of my way to make this my first stop. It is so entirely worth it! Their lavender lemon donuts are just the perfect balance of herbal to citrus, the textures of the donuts, fillings and glazes are a delight and their adorable Simpsonsesque decor always brings a smile to my face. Great service and really excellent variety, quality of product, and fun rotation of flavors. I really appreciate their eye to sustainability and reduce waste. Drove 30 minutes to try these and wasn't disappointed in the least. The donuts were amazing! I'm dairy free and don't get to have donuts too often and this brought back all the memories. Walking into a donut shop and picking a variety of donuts is something I haven't been able to do in ages. Super friendly staff and atmosphere, next time I'll try the breakfast sandwich. A number of vegan spots have closed the past couple of years. Vegans have to start supporting mom & pop vegan shops in AZ. Sojo is my go to breakfast spot. I love their breakfast sandwiches & various special breakfast sandwiches like the "luigi griller." They have the most unique donut selection in AZ. They are packed with various flavors daily. Captain Crunch donut is supremo. Bacon donut, Blueberry Lemon, Strawberry Shortcake, Etc all are delicious. They unfortunately no longer have gluten free donuts. If you're concerned about healthy options, don't forget it's a donut shop. When did donuts become healthy anyway? Treat yourself to something delicious today! Sojo's advertises gluten free donuts Friday-Sunday and this excited me, being a gluten intolerant vegan. i've been able to get a donut or two maybe twice from here, but more often than not, these options are completely sold out with plenty of gluten options available. the desserts i've had here were good and well-priced, i'm just so disappointed at how rarely i can eat here. be sure to call for availability before stopping by hoping to enjoy a treat in the morning. it never ceases to amaze me when restaurants say they carry gluten free options, but it was so clearly an afterthought that the GF section is maybe five each of three options. this same sad, amazement hit me here and i was really hoping otherwise ESPECIALLY since they only make GF items three days a week. i was hoping i'd have more options besides Nami and The Giving Tree in phoenix, but they tend to be more reliable and worth my drive for some GF desserts. read more

Oh. My. Dog. This place is a dream come true! We spent several weeks snowbirding in Phoenix and kept making the trek to Mesa to get our hands on these donuts. I suspect most people wouldn't even realize they are vegan. Our favorites were the enormous apple fritter and the Boston Cream. The BC is absolutely oozing with delicious vanilla filling; almost too much filling, if that's even possible. We also enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches made with homemade chickpea flour "egg" patties, but we often didn't have room for those because...donuts. Would have ordered coffee to accompany the donuts, but they did not carry decaf when we were there. The staff were very kind and friendly, and remained patient when we'd call to see if our favorites were in stock so we didn't waste gas. I really appreciate the people who start working at 1:00 am so we can enjoy their wonderfully fresh creations. Sojo's will once again be a high-priority destination the next time we are in Phoenix! read more

Wow! You have got to try this place! 100% Vegan donuts does not mean bland donuts. They make yummy creative donuts + more. You have to get there early because they often sell out. They are open Wed - Sunday 7am until they are sold out. Got there a little later on a Sunday (10am) and there were only six items left (all sold by the time I left!) The owners are super friendly and definitely creative and hard working. This place needs to be featured by Guy Fieri! read more

First visit here and I know I'll be back. The shop is small, colorful, and looks like a trip into my childhood. Even the girl that helped me had cute colorful hair and they had some tokidoki characters in one of the cases The donuts were some of the best I've ever had. I chose the caramel twist, cap'n crunch, and strawberry shortcake (I got the last one ). The flavors were all amazing, the donuts were tasty, and I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to whatever they put in their caramel. They are definitely worth trying whether you live close or far. read more

If you haven't had a chance to make it to SoJo's Donuts before they sell out, set that alarm for 6:30 AM and hit the door running. SoJo's Donuts is an all vegan donut shop with some amazing creative and flavorsome creations and also has gluten-free donut options. Can't beat a good yeasty dough. My fave donut (in life) has to be the Apple fritter and the humongous one from SoJo's definitely does not disappoint. If donuts aren't your thing, they also carry great breakfast sandwiches in an English muffin... and you could also get it sandwiched in a donut. I've never had a true savory donut outside of a bacon maple. I think my taste buds are confused. I literally laughed when I bit into it. This is the best way I can describe it because it's not on the online menu. Everything bagel seasoning w/ salted frosting. Right? Okay weird but whatever. Second bite I bit into a sausage. A rosemary or some other herby type flavor sausage link. So stick a glazed donut, an everything bagel, and a Jimmy Deans in your mouth and that is this donut. All I can say is, I don't regret trying it, but I will never have one again. All I can give is a neutral review. This is a strange donut. Ohhh my gosh First of all, I am not vegan and my partner is vegetarian. I have a hard time with textures and flavor sensitivity in general so when exploring options that aren't what what I grew up with I tend to struggle to adapt to liking them. HOWEVER, if you gave me a donut from here and not tell me it's vegan, I wouldn't know! I went with safe flavors options for us this first time around: cookies n cream, vanilla w sprinkles, Irish crème and salted caramel. As well as a SEC sandwich and a caramel oat milk cold brew for my partner. All donut flavors are AMAZING and my partner is in love with the sandwich and homemade syrup in the cold brew. I'm looking forward to branching out next visit and trying a different mix of flavors. The coffee they serve is from a local roastery called Alchemy Roast, whom I am friends w the co owner. Both the owners of Alchemy Roast and SoJo's are super great people with a lot of passion for what they do. So when you're supporting this small business, you're actually supporting two! During my visit the co owner had mentioned she thought of pursuing a vegan cake path, but due to how much time goes into what they have already, it would be hard to do both. However, I have full confidence if they did introduce cake down the line that it would be just as incredible and delicious! The storefront is adorable with the decor theming which feels like stepping back into your childhood! Also for my environmentally conscious peeps, I did bring my own box to see if would be able to put the donuts in there to reduce waste and they happily did so! My third time having Sojo's is today. For being brand new and locally owned, totally impressed! Their coffee gets me motivated to go there because it is the best brewed coffee, and I have a long resume of coffee knowledge, maybe EVER. Only one in my family is gluten free, and everyone else enjoyed the regular donuts, but I made special trips (and spent more) here for the gluten free. Soooo good. I took my dog to the vet (Alma School Animal Hospital) and saw that there was an adorable donut place right next door. It's been a crazy week so I stopped by for a little something sweet and was blown away by the exceptional customer service and the delicious donuts. The flavors are unique and fun so it was difficult to choose my donuts and I settled on Lavender Lemon, Cookie D'oh, Strawberry Shortcake, and Salted Caramel. I tried a piece of all four and they are all DELICIOUS. I love the texture of these donuts! They remind me a little bit of mochi donuts because of the chewy and moist consistency but with a nice slightly crunchy outside. So good. All of the donuts are great..It's hard to choose just one as my favorite but the strawberry shortcake has a refreshing tang of flavor that hits my tastebuds perfectly so it may take the cake..!
