I love everything about this place! From the delicious vegan desserts to the nostalgic millennial decor--including VHS tapes--and the incredible story of how the owners built Sojo's Donuts from the ground up, it's truly a gem. Best of all, it's 100% VEGAN! I can't pick just one favorite because they offer daily and seasonal specials, but a few standouts are the Maple Bar, Lavender Lemon, Boston Cream, and Raspberry Jam donuts. They're soft, flavorful, and so delicious that you'd never guess they're vegan! I've tried their breakfast sandwiches and iced coffee a couple of times, but I find the almond milk a bit thin for my taste, so I usually stick to the food. A few things to note: be prepared for a wait, sometimes even out the door. I highly recommend following them on social media to stay updated on their hours and sell-out times. I've been here multiple times over the past few years but have never left a review! This place has the BEST donuts, vegan or not. I do love that everything is vegan - but you would not even know from the look and taste of it. Their yeast donuts are my go to favorite that I have to get every time I'm in the area. Today I had the lavender lemon, which might be my favorite one they do. I also got the gingerbread cinnamon roll which was also so flavorful and the texture was perfect as well. I was intrigued by the Homer Simpson sign out front and I love a good donut, so I had to check out Sojo's! I was immediately greeted by the sweetest gal behind the counter. My aunt who was with me had come the day before and asked about a breakfast griller that she saw and the gal highly recommended. It was a tofu scramble with black beans and peppers and it was delicious. I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich which was also really good. We got 2 cups of coffee, 1 plain and 1 with oat milk and brown sugar syrup. I like that they make their syrups in house, and the coffee was pretty good. I also got a Boston cream donut, which I had to have a bite of before I even left the parking lot and it was amazing! The cream is thicker than the usual custard filling but it was really really yummy!! Their donuts are also massive! All in all, $23 for 2 coffees, 2 sandwiches and a donut wasn't bad, the service fast and friendly, and the shop adorable. We'll be back! read more

I got here at 8am when they opened and there was already a line. Love a good vegan option and a good donut. Combine the two and you get Sojo's! I seriously wouldn't know it was vegan had I done a blind taste test haha. I came pretty close to closing. It is really really cute in here, I love the pink decor. I ordered a salted caramel twist for my husband and a cookie dough donut for me. The girl working was super nice and gave me two for free since they were about to close for the day, she was so sweet! The other two we tried were the strawberry and the vanilla. Surprisingly, the vanilla was my favorite. Usually I'm more of a chocolate girl! I actually wasn't a huge fan of the icing on the cookie dough or salted caramel one. The salted caramel one tasted just kinda bland but salty, cookie dough one was ok I think just overly sweet. Strawberry one tasted like fresh strawberry! Overall good experience! read more

Such a great donut place. We are regulars and like it but wish that they would make more donuts. On weekends its common for them to sell out after being open for two hours. Such a cute place! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They took their time explaining the donuts available and what we might be interested in. I can't believe they have up to 24 different flavors available in the morning! They had fun flavors such as peanut butter pickle, ham and cheese with mustard frosting, along with the classics. Great place for a little adventure with food. (Try the ham and cheese as well as the everything bagel donut- SURPRISINGLY good!) Important to note that you MUST come in the morning or risk them being out of donuts. We arrived at 9:45am on a Saturday and they were nearing the end of their supply. This place is so delicious. My gf is dairy free and it was hard to find a dairy free/vegan donut spot that both of us liked (that she can eat at). I've been eating dairy free for a little while and Sojo's donuts and breakfast sandwiches are A-MAZING!! The cheese they use has the perfect melt to it and tastes like regular cheese. They're homemade sauce is super tasty too. I also love the different flavors/variety of donuts they offer. If you're looking for a fire a$$ vegan donut shop, THIS IS IT!! I have often struggled with finding good vegan pastry and donut shops all over this country. Now while this establishment doesn't compare to Ronald's donuts in Las Vegas, Donut Friend in Los Angeles, or Donut Panic in San Diego it is the best donut shop I have been to so far in Arizona. The Donut Bar that was previously in Scottsdale AZ was very good as well but again this establishment has a pretty good product. The wife and I made the long journey out to Mesa to try this place out and we were not disappointed. We bought a half dozen donuts that included the Boston Cream, the Cookies n Creme, and the Apple Fritters along with a couple of others. The owner of the establishment is very friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast sandwich though especially if you don't like light life sausage. I think if they use beyond meat or impossible meat for their sandwiches they would fly out of the store...LOL!!!! I don't know if we would ever return just because of the distance but I do highly recommend this establishment if you're looking for quality Vegan delights. read more

A great local small business! I've been craving donuts and don't generally care for the chain ones. I saw Sojo's was very close to our new home and asked my bf to drive over early Sunday am. He scoffed a bit when he heard they were vegan donuts, but gave in to me...as he should! The store was hopping with a line, but went quickly. These donuts are big and easily shareable. The chocolate twist is made with semi sweet chocolate which is a pleasant surprise. It provides just the right amount if sweetness. Heyo! Vegan and gluten free donuts right here!! They also make breakfasts sandwiches and because they didn't have gluten free bread, they let us make the breakfast sandwich with donuts! So good! There are so many options here and as you can see in the photos, the size of the donuts and the size of the fritter are totally worth it! The donuts are pretty consistent across the board with the differences being the toppings. They have donuts. Breakfast sandwiches, coffee, fritters and cinnamon rolls. I'm sure they offer much more but just having all these options during the restrictions is amazing. I gave them 5 stars but please get this place looks better. They're so close. The 80's and 90's feel of television memorabilia and cartoons playing is a fun way but commit and go big! I would say order a bunch and cut in half so your group can all share the flavors! There weren't any s'mores or cookie dough flavors but all of the flavors we got were really tasty! Vegan or not, these are some damn good donuts! My husband and I arrived around 9am on a Thursday and they were busy. I can see why they sell out every day. They still had a wide variety of flavors available so we picked out a few that looked good - the Apple fritter, a prickly pear, a salted caramel, a blueberry, a chocolate and a Boston creme. Out of all of them my favorite was the caramel followed by the chocolate. My least favorite was the prickly pear. I was expecting more of the prickly pear flavor. It just kinda tasted like a regular sugar donut. So it was still good, just not prickly pear. The owner was super friendly and helpful, talking us through all the flavor options. These were hands down the worst donuts we've ever had. I saw all the 5 star reviews and thought, "Hey this will be a perfect spot to get donuts"- I've been trying to branch out and give other locally owned donut spots a shot. When I say that my GF/V donut could've qualified as a hockey puck I'm not joking. It was dry, dense and heavy. Then my moms glazed donut was thick, dense and heavy, she was so disappointed she didn't even finish it. I won't be back. Really big fan of this place. Love the vintage retro feel of this shop on the inside. I enjoy the vegan ham and cheese donut and all of it's creative flavors. I enjoy the cookie dough that tops one of the rolls. I think it is so cool that a vegan donut concept has come to Mesa. Donuts are fried to perfection. YES to the breakfast sandwiches! We are always looking for good breakfast options around the valley. They were out of the sausage, but they did have some of the "bacon." It was all sorts of yummy and perfect for grab and go if we ever needed that. We bought up the last donut (literally the last one) and two of the apple fritters that they were just finishing up when we visited. The donut was good - but I've had a lot of REALLY good vegan donuts (California, Washington, Colorado), and the one didn't quite hit the mark. I would love to give their donuts (esp GF) another chance though! Keep in mind - it was fairly early on a Sunday...I want to sat 8-9AM and they were sold out. We had been wanting to try Sojo's for SO long, so glad we finally made it. It's far from us and they sell out fast, so it will be quite awhile before we get to visit again.
