The response I received felt dismissive and almost offended that I would even ask. What the staff member didn't know is that I make a point to ask this question everywhere I go--not because I need a discount, but because I appreciate businesses that offer it. I'm fortunate to be in a position where I don't rely on discounts, and when one is offered, I typically add that amount to the tip as a way of paying it forward to the staff. It's my way of supporting those who serve others, especially those who may still be in financially demanding stages of life. Unfortunately, this experience left a poor impression, both in terms of customer service and overall value.

I have gotten the PB Butterscotch smoothie both times I have gone, and it is delicious. It tastes just like a regular milkshake, but without the guilt. I will try the other smoothie flavors they offer on my next visit. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the service is friendly. When I visited the first time, they were happy to offer suggestions on some of their most popular items. After they mentioned the PB Butterscotch smoothie, I tried that one. The juices were exceptionally balanced in the Beach Break and there was no overly dominant flavor. It was very good, though next time I'll likely ask for a glass of ice cubes because it was not cold, just cool Bowls: Electric Mermaid and Mango Berry. So effin' good, both of them. The bowls are very large, too, and I feel the price was reasonable ($13 & $12, respectively). Now that summer is upon us, Playa Bowls will be a great place to enjoy some cool food (figuratively and literally). :-)

So far I've tried the Hero's Garden Smoothie (fresh spinach, matcha green tea, pineapple, mango, banana, spirulina, flax seeds, and apple juice) + Trim Burner, Avocado & Egg Toast (avocado and a hard-boiled egg with plant-based bacon, olive oil, pink himalayan salt, and Pepper), and their Fig & Prosciutto Toast (fig spread, prosciutto, cream cheese, a drizzle of olive oil, and cracked black pepper on a thick slice of sourdough toast). Items are about $10 each, so it's not the most cost efficient, but with them being around the corner from my gym, it's hard to resist. Seating is incredibly limited here, so take your goodies to go.
