4/25/26: holy smokes do they have a sh*t ton of bowls! Plus a large selection of smoothies & fresh juices. It was crazy (good) how many options they had. Parking: part of a substantially-sized shopping area so plenty of parking is available. Just beware the huge SUVs trying to back out. Atmosphere: bursting with colors & cool decor. Service: decent, not overly friendly but def not rude either. Drinks: a can of Poppi & the beach break juice (pineapple, carrot, ginger, and lemon). The juices were exceptionally balanced in the Beach Break and there was no overly dominant flavor. It was very good, though next time I'll likely ask for a glass of ice cubes because it was not cold, just cool Bowls: Electric Mermaid and Mango Berry. So effin' good, both of them. The bowls are very large, too, and I feel the price was reasonable ($13 & $12, respectively). Now that summer is upon us, Playa Bowls will be a great place to enjoy some cool food (figuratively and literally). :-) read more

Having a hangover in the hellishly hot summer of Arizona is NO BUENO. All day, I'd been feeling like a smoothie was the cure for my self-induced ills. I looked up smoothie places near me and saw Playa Bowls and managed to drag my butt there. I'm so glad I did. I felt healthier as soon as I walked in and saw the huge chalkboard full of fruit bowls, smoothies, and juices. And almost everything on the menu is vegan, which is right up my alley. I wanted to order everything! But I settled on the Aloha smoothie with coconut milk, mango, pineapple, and I subbed pitaya (dragonfruit) for the banana. My order: Lola (green bowl) w/ 1/2 coconut base - $12 Mermaid Fuel juice 12oz (they were out of kale so I subbed spinach) - $6.99 Blue Mermaid Wave (bottled juice) - $7.99 The bowl and Mermaid Fuel juice were delicious and refreshing. I have been to Playa bowls a few times. On this visit I was in the mood for one of their bowls. In February they have a special "bae bowl" which includes: Half Playa Pitaya Half Stupid Cupid Base (strawberry, banana & coconut milk) topped with blueberry flax granola, strawberries, coconut flakes, goji berries & chocolate drizzle. I opted for my bowl without the goji berries. The bowl was packed with flavors and they're not stingy with the toppings. The fruit was of good quality and fresh. The bowl was very filling and a healthy option for lunch. The store gives me San Diego vibes and is kept clean. If you're overwhelmed by the large menu the employees are friendly and offer great suggestions. They also offer a reward program which is a nice way to earn free items in the future. read more

I love Playa Bowls and normally go to the Queen Creek area. I stumbled by this location and was pleasantly surprised, exactly the same quality as the one in Queen Creek. I had wonderful service also and got my half acai half pitaya Nutella bowl! The decor is so cute and fun, makes me want to go to the beach it makes me thinking I am one already. We love this place! We go here regularly before my daughters swim practice and it never disappoints. We always get the Nutella bowl with an acai and pitaya base. I have not tried any thing else but definitely will soon. The inside is decorated so beautiful, such as please to the eyes. The bowls are so delicious! The fruit is fresh and arranged so nicely. Ooh, this place is good! After seeing so many reviews from other friends, I had to make a point to come here. I've been craving mango lately, and this place hit the spot. This menu is HUGE, so I definitely have a lot to get through. My order was the Goldie Mango, which was topped with strawberry, banana, granola, and Nutella. I loved this combination, but I did find the Nutella a bit much. The portions were good and really helped cool me down from our 115-degree weather. I've driven past Playa Bowls a few times since they opened, and I finally decided to stop in on Friday morning. I was immediately greeted by one energetic employee (the other was busy preparing orders!). The menu is plastered on the wall immediately to your left upon entering, everything is spelled out well. If you don't like any of the combinations they make, they offer custom items as well! I opted for the Pura Vida açaí bowl - açaí, granola, honey, strawberries, and bananas. My goodness I have just finished paying when the one gal already had my bowl packed and ready to go! It made the short ride home without spillage, always a plus! The bowl was PACKED overflowing the brim! I really enjoyed this açaí bowl! The granola and honey complemented the açaí well. The granola is definitely on the sweeter side, which I liked. The fruit was also really fresh as well. I enjoyed this bowl for breakfast and ate about 2/3 before I was full. I love playa bowls! I went frequently on the east coast but was so disappointed in the Acai flavor here. The Acai texture was like ice and not smooth at all. The flavor was also terrible that I wasn't able to eat it. I had half mango base and that had a smoother and more flavorful consistence. First time here, I think this place is new? Service was fast and friendly. The girl that took my order told me about the rewards program and this is conveniently right around the corner from my gym at F45 so no brainer. I got the pura vida bowl. Acai was a good consistency, not watery like at some places. Berries were fresh and they didn't skimp! But, I am a granola fiend, so I wish they would give more granola :( Maybe next time I will ask but definitely a nice little spot next to the "lake" of north Chandler. read more

Went in and got discriminated right away, at first I wasn't sure all I asked was if there was deals for vets (girl, mid-20s behind counter) kind of scoffed at me and said military doesn't have discount or any sort of deal, I said ok that's fine. I stepped back just to see their menu and watched someone else come up (white male, 30-40 maybe) asked the same question, they gave him a free bowl just like it was advertised on locals news. My wife waited for her cold brew while three girls stood around talking and not asking if she received her order. Four customers after my wife purchased, received their order. After 20 minutes she asked the status of her order, to come back and state they did not have pumpkin cold cream. Instead of offering another drink they decided to do a refund. Another note, there was a new hire and the three girls were rudely talking about her instead of helping her catch up to speed with work process.
