Opened the Montclair Times today and saw the review on the best chicken parm dinners in NJ. I have been to a few of them but none of them top Soho Pizza, especially if Chaz the owner is cooking. The chicken parm is perfect every time and a side of pasta with his plum tomato sauce makes the perfect compliment. Tremendous meal every time over many, many years. Wow! A double dose of amazing Coal fired pizza. What a find!! The crust was thin and crispy in all the right places and thick and chewy when you want it to be. The sauce and cheese were plentiful and high quality. Nice customer service during Covid. In and out in a flash. Very kind man on the phone and in person. Parking was surprisingly easy but I could see how that would be a challenge in better days. But well worth the park and walk. Heck, I would walk from New York to this spot for a slice of their pie. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered a pizza and an appetizer of shrimp in garlic sauce. This was a contactless delivery order. The order was delivered sooner than they estimated, the delivery person followed the contactless guidelines, and he rang my doorbell and waited at his car to ensure that i knew my order had arrived. The pizza is a smaller, 6-slice pie. I thought it had a little too much cheese on top and cornmeal on the bottom. The shrimp in garlic sauce tasted delicious and came with a few slices of Italian bread for 'dunking'. I appreciated that the menu tells you 6 pieces. I was expecting smaller shrimp but they were a nice size and butterflied. read more

The service in this place atrocious! The guy practically threw the the pizza at me. Do not order the grilled buffalo wings, they are overly breaded and fried, to top it off, you get nacho cheese on the side. I kindly asked "I thought your menu said they're grilled buffalo wings" his response "yeah, that's what you got." Is this a joke? When I asked for buffalo sauce, he got pissed and tossed it my way. Perhaps there is a disconnected between the online menu and what you actually offer. The pizza is actually decent but the attitude of the gentleman and the service received is horrible! Ordered delivery from here for the first time. Was less than impressed and will not order from again. A simple order of pizza and french fries and nothing about it was good. The fries came greasy, soggy and underdone. This wasn't your typical soggy fries that were victim of getting soggy from the steam in the container during delivery. These were clearly under-cooked to begin with and were limp and greasy upon arrival. For the pizza, we ordered the Prince St. Pizza which is listed on the web site as having "grilled zucchini, eggplant and portabello mushrooms". First off, they decided to throw a ton of yellow squash on the pizza as well. Fine, I personally didn't mind the extra veggie topping. However, it was clear that none of the veggies on this pizza were "grilled" prior to going on the pizza. In fact, they were straight up raw. For anyone who has cooked yellow squash before, you know that you need to cook it for a while especially if the skin is extra tough. Much longer than the 8-10 minutes that it typically takes to cook a pizza. However it was clear that these veggies were put on the pizza raw to begin with and none of them were cooked enough in the amount of time that the pizza was in the oven which left us crunching on semi-raw squash on our pizza. Yuck. Also, I specifically requested in the instructions (ordered through Grubhub) for the pizza to be "slightly well done" and I swear that must've been read as "slightly UNDER done" because this pizza was in fact, very underdone. Was not a fan. Will stick to my usual go-to pizza places in town next time. read more

Meh food. Better than average marketing and convenience. Our workplace received a flyer for a ton of items for $6 during lunch. Salads, sandwiches, wraps, pastas and entrees. They all look yummy on the menu, it's well laid out, and the $6 price for anything makes it easy when collecting orders. I have to say I like the pasta. Both the penne vodka and the fettuccine alfred sauces stick to the pasta. You get a good mouthful of both pasta and sauce - not just pasta. Entrees don't come with pasta. Not too bad as you can score some free bread. The wraps and salads are a bit meh. Lots of greens, but not much else. The buffalo chicken wrap is a spinach tortilla stuffed with lots of lettuce and two pieces of heavily breaded chicken fingers. The $10 pizza is very thin and lacking just about everything - taste, texture, cheese, sauce. Bottom line: I would not order this stuff at home, but they make it really easy to order for the work place. read more

Was looking for a local restaurant with online ordering and loved Soho Pizza & Grill's variety. I ended up ordering the mushroom chicken with a side of meatballs. Online ordering through yelp/delivery.com worked seamlessly. Delivery happened within 30 mins and with a smile. The meatballs came in a very tasty sauce that was simple and not overly spiced (hate that) The mushroom chicken was very tasty and i found myself saving the gravy to use over a pasta dish the next day. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered from Soho Pizza, and the delivery is so consistently fast and the quality so consistently good that, after order No. 100-and-something, I feel compelled to offer this review. I don't live far from the shop -- which, oddly, I've never stepped foot inside -- but it's become the go-to delivery because, from phone call to table, the two large pies routinely get to us in 20 minutes or less. Yes, I remember that was the old Domino's slogan, but unlike Domino's, it doesn't suck. It's really, really good. A nice, crispy crust with a high-quality sauce, thin but not too thin. Not only is the food on their regular menu great but Soho Pizza and Grill's catering services are outstanding. Aside from the delicious food, they are super patient and helpful with planning what to choose for your party menu. Case in point, I had no idea what to select for a summer salad for a barbecue we were having that included vegetarian and non vegetarians. That's all I had to say, I left it their capable hands and they created a salad that was perfect, it was the hit of the party! I think this place is the best kept secret in Montclair. Quick delivery and hot delicious food is what to expect here. While their pizza is very good, I am hooked on their homemade soups especially the escarole and bean or their minestrone. Had to make an account just to review this place. I went in once in 2016 and got the baked ziti, it was absolutely terrible. I decided to give them another shot since they are so close, I ordered cavatelli and broccoli. I honestly threw it out after two bites. The broccoli was barely cooked (it literally crunched when i chewed it), the chicken was breaded and tasted like tyson chicken tendies (they probably were), the sauce was even worse. The only redeeming quality was the bread it came with, but that is some expensive bread for 16$! Most of the people posting postive reviews here are probably shills. They probably have their friends post positive reviews so the ratings don't tank. Place is probably a front for the mob, no idea how they have been in business so long. Just moved into neighborhood and I'm very particular with pizza. Tried another place that was avg at best. The plain pie here was pretty good but not great. Its not Ralph's in Nutley but its good enough. The meal we had and chicken fingers were solid. Used a coupon for a pizza, entree, chk fingers ans a salad for 30 bucks. it was a great deal. I am starting to wonder if the negative reviews are from competitors. I've gotten take-out from Soho three times and found the food to be great. The Bruschetta Pizza is FANTASTIC! My daughter and I almost ate the whole pie in one night. I've ordered the Chicken Blossom (chicken and roasted red peppers in balsamic sauce) twice and enjoyed it very much. Salad was fresh and LARGE. (No watery lettuce at all). Best part of their pizza is the crunchiness. I hate soft, doughy crust and even after sitting in the box for more than half an hour while I was driving around it still had some crunch left in it. I am also surprised that Soho pizza is not more popular than it is. I think this may be that they are not in the middle of all the other stores in the busier part of Valley Road, but u can usually find parking easily and it is not crowded. The food here is great though!! The pizza is the best in the area!! We've had a few other dishes there and everything has been delicious!
