I visited this restaurant on Friday night 6/12/26 around 5:30 pm. When we arrived there was one family of 4 sitting at a booth/table all the way in the back . The hostess asked if we had a reservation, (?) it was just myself and my daughter. We did not , just looking for a quick bite before a show, and actually used the word "quick" to her. She apologetically said we could only be seated at a high top without a reservation.... Ok . Well I'm 64 with a bad hip and mentioned that but she shrugged . We needed to eat , so I stayed. Not even 10 minutes later a couple came in and was seated by the hostess at another high top . The woman , my age as well, shrugged and looked at me as the hostess explained the " reservation " concept in a basically large EMPTY restaurant. I laughed with her and said how I hate high tops too, and patted my hip. Out of nowhere a heavy set ( using this description so he can be identified) dark haired man came over to them and kindly offered a regular table as long as they were done in 1.5 hrs which was when their reservations started!!! I looked at the woman , said " good for you, I guess I didn't complain loud enough " JOKINGLY!!!! He came back to our table and used a NASTY TONE, saying " THEY DIDNT COMPLAIN, I HAPPENED TO HEAR THEM TALKING!" Yes, they were talking to ME. He was soo RUDE. I felt attacked and wanted to leave but we had already ordered and I'm not that type of person! We used to eat there frequently and THIS visit reminded us why we stopped!! The food is just OK, and to be made to feel like this is NOT OK. Your 3 star review rating is very clear to me now. $50 for a plain pizza and small salad is easily spent elsewhere! read more

To be fair I think all Anthony Franco locations are equally terrible but props to this one for delivering 25 pizzas to my friends party for her son. Meat lovers slice: thicker pan style like. Crust was lite and crunchy. Just enough sauce and toppings of pepperoni, bacon, sausage. Surprisingly not greasy as I expected it to be. Plain: just enough combo of sauce an cheese. Cooked well. Again no grease drippings at all= quality cheese. I like crust a bit thinner but overall not a bad slice of pizza. I ordered the meat lover's pizza w/added onions. The pizza we received was fresh, tasty & packed with meat...not skimpy like at some other pizza places I've tried! Their pizza sauce is amazing too,(Not sweet) & the the dough was perfectly soft with a slight crunch. It was a beauty to look at but even more delectable to the bite! I would definitely order this from them again. I also ordered the fried calamari, which was just ok, it was a bit tough or chewy, so it didn't seem as fresh! I eat calamari often & have had better so this is the reason for the 4 instead of 5. However, overall if pizza is what you want yuy can't count on them to make a delicious pie! Ordered from here three times and all three times have been pretty mediocre. I'm very specific when I talk about pizza because I'm a huge pizza lover and this place just doesn't hit the spot. The first time I ordered a margarita pie and it wasn't awful but wasn't flavorful either. The second time I ordered a plain slice and a buffalo chicken wrap. In regards to the pizza, the sauce is blah and the actual crust really isn't that great. And when I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap it came with grilled chicken?.. never have I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap from a take out spot and got it grilled. The chicken is usually breaded chicken. Don't think I will be coming back to this spot even those it's literally 0.4 miles away. read more

We order takeout from here pretty frequently. Their pizza is consistently good; not the best I've ever had, but definitely hot, fresh and tasty. Their entree portions are very generous- we ordered eggplant and chicken parm dinners the other day (both were delicious) and there was plenty leftover for lunch the next day. We have also ordered hot and cold sandwiches, as well as antipasto salad- all of which were good, not to mention the prices are fair. Very unpleasant experience with Anthony Franco's in Paramus. When I called up regarding a very unfortunate experience I had after receiving my sandwich, I asked for the owner. An individual named Paul came to the phone but said he was just an employee. After we spoke, Paul said he will have the owner contact me. But that was a lie. Because I found out later that Paul was, in fact, the owner himself. Paul just didn't want to acknowledge or deal with the problem. When an owner of a business pretends to be an employee because he doesn't want to acknowledge a very unfortunate incident that occurred, that should have been my first clue that I am not dealing with an honest establishment. read more

This is Jersey style pizza. Big slices, Crispy crust, Nice flavor in the sauce, although a tad light. Quality ingredients. Staff is friendly and they have Birch Beer on the fountain. For this style pizza, it's a contender for Best in the Tri-Town Area. (Verona, Cedar Grove, Montclair). Regarding the decor: The booths have pictures of pizza and parmigiana on the tables, which I think is a little "cheesy". But, the place is new, and everything is clean and comfortable. They have the best appetizers! The place is getting a little worn, but the service and the food are still great. My favorite dish is Lobster Ravioli in Pink Sauce! Delicious! Their Hot Sandwiches (10") are terrific - everything parm they make is delicious. I love the Grilled Portabella Mushrooms Topped with Fresh Mozzarella! The appetizer is good enough for a meal! Been a long long time customer, been dealing with Anthony Franco's since they first opened almost 10-years now and always have great food and service until recently. The quality has gone downhill very fast the past couple of months. The owner is a very nice guy, bending over to make right when there is problems. The problem is he keeps hiring idiots to work behind the counter (as well as deliver). A lot of high school kids that are incapable of doing even the simplest jobs without screwing-it up. Several months ago, ordered the usual food, a couple of dinners, a couple of pizzas and waited, and waited and waited for almost 1-hour for the food to arrive. Turns out the girl behind the counter forgot to make on the order was a delivery - the manager wanted to just reheat the now old food, we refused and had to wait another hour (3-hours total) for the correct order to arrive. The owner promised to make-up on the next order (which never happened) Last month, again, order the same dinners and pizza, the delivery guy dropped it off on the door stoop of a next door neighbors house, neighbor was nice enough to bring over the now cold food -- Once again, the owner promised to make-up on the next order (and again, never happened) . This Saturday (5 March 2022) ordered the same two dinners and pizza. Food arrived and immediately something was wrong: The pasta smelled like it had been taken out of the garbage, smelled rancid, barely edible (even the dogs did not want it). It smelled like year old gym socks and that batch of past was thrown-out. Then came the main course, Veal Francaise, and once again, it was wrong. The veal tastes terrible, almost a combination of veal marsala with Lemon sauce added (as if they scrapped off the mushrooms and tried fixing the order) . Last night (Monday, 7 March 2022) was having leftovers (we get several meals out of each order). The pasta smelled even worse (almost making me throw-up) and the second Veal Francaise was wrong. Took the left-over directly back to Anthony Francos to see what the problem was, the manager smell the pasta and commented, that smelled normal (as if rancid food was normal) and had no comment about the veal. They make a really GREAT pizza. Yes, Star Tavern is good. Ray's has the best Buffalo chicken slice. Enzo's is good for some stuff, but this pizza is consistently perfect. I often get 5 topping special. Meatballs, breaded chicken, pepperoni, sausage and onions. Fantastic. Gnocchi bolognese is really amazing. Chicken parm is perfectly cooked chicken and I love, love, love the chunky tomato sauce and mozzarella.. Chicken franchese was OK. Veal with spinach and cheese not as great as I hoped. Let me just start by saying it's some of the best pizza I've had. Slices are large and something in the marinara makes it special. It's not an upper echelon restaurant but every dish I had seemed to have the freshest ingredients. Not only is the food very good but the vibe is great .. good people the kind u end up laughing with about something. This guy who runs the place named Josh is one of the best dudes I've ever met.
