I was in the area and needed a quick bite to eat so I stopped by. I was happy to be able to get a quick plastic free meal. I paid about 13$ for 2 slices and a bottle of soda. The slices were a good size and i was happy they had some drinks that weren't in a plastic container, but damn! The plain slices they had didn't look too appetizing so i went with the margarita. They were very good but 4$ a slice is too much. They were advertising a lunch special, 2 slices and a soda for 6$. Go for lunch! Or maybe order a pie but don't go here for a few slices if you're on a budget.

I ordered the mixed veggies with chicken and it was outstanding! The order came on time and no complaints here!

Last weekend, I took my partner out to dinner at Fortissimo. We were in West Orange that afternoon and instead of trekking home and cooking, it just made sense. Also, both of us had been to the pizzeria when we were kids (we're talking 90s here), but haven't been in recent years. So why not do something different and try it out? Suffice to say, we were not disappointed. It exceeded my partner's expectations - he raised an eyebrow when I first suggested it (the last time he was there, it was after his Mountain Top league soccer game) - but we had a fantastic dinner and would definitely come back again. So I dine with a vegetarian (who occasionally goes gluten-free); and we were able to order a fulfilling meal here. Below is what we ordered: - 1 large tossed salad with dressing on the side that we shared - 6 piece buffalo wings that I housed on my own - 1 personal cauliflower cheese pizza with roasted pepper, garlic, and spinach (~$20) - 1 personal regular drunken nona pizza pie (~$13) - 1 grilled veggie wrap that he sampled and then took home because we ordered with hungry eyes Salad was fresh. Wings were really good, the pieces were a generous size with a flavorful sauce and the right amount of heat. My partner said this was the best tasting cauliflower crust pizza he's had and would order it again. My drunken nona pizza was awesome and will be my go-to order. And the veggie wrap was a hit when sampled and also when eaten the day after. Our waiter was cool and took care of us. Also, when we entered, the guy at the counter greeted us and said we could take any table. There were about three other parties seated in the dining room area, and a few people ordering or picking up take out at the counter. The dining room area has nice dark wooden tables/booths, brick on the walls, wine racks and there was a piano in the middle of the space (surprised to see the piano). The vibe felt that it's a family friendly, chill, italian eatery where you can enjoy a good meal. Recommended!

Stopped by for lunch for my first time here. I went for a slice of the chicken parmigiana pizza. While I didn't love this slice, I probably should have started with a plain on the first visit. There are lots of positive reviews here so maybe I just hit it on a bad day. On the positive side, there's plenty of seating, parking in front, and prices are very reasonable.

Yum num num. pizza was fresh and crisp. I would give 4-4.5 for flavor and taste. A little bread-y but flavors on top great!

The Insalata Del Mare- $12.15. DELICIOUS

I've been eating here about once a month for the last 11 years. I have a pretty good selection of food and different daily pizzas. Today they have a very creative menu based upon the Super Bowl. I always prefer the Insalata de Mare- it's a delicious combination of chilled shrimp, scallops and calamari on a bed of shredded lettuce with light olive oil and lemon. I have no clue why it is on the appetizer list and not under the salads but who cares. You usually have to ask for Italian bread with your meal because they usually don't bring it out otherwise. They always put a birthday candle in a cannoli for free if you're celebrating someone's birthday in your party, which is a nice touch. Update 9/4/2018: This is the third time I have been here when a lunch special is missing one of the main components, yet it's the same price. No compensation. In this case, I was really digging the lemon pepper chicken salad because of the avocado that was supposed to be in it, but when it arrived, we were told there was no avocado because they didn't get the delivery.

I understand that I asked for extra vodka sauce on the vodka pizza but this is out of control. The only reason why I asked for extra was because last time my boyfriend ordered it, there was literally 3 tablespoons of vodka sauce on the pizza. When you pick up a slice it just completely falls apart. I am very disappointed.

Got the chicken parm sandwich. Not very flavorful and the chicken seemed like it was reheated/not fresh. I should've stuck with pizza.

The restaurant was packed when we arrived, with both indoor and outdoor dining, but they were expecting us for our reservation and seated us right away. The front-of-house staff was warm, friendly and even remembered my husband from when he called to make the reservation. The food was the standout. I ordered the short rib, which arrived with quite the presentation, a huge bone topped with incredibly tender, shaved short rib and mixed vegetables. It was delicious and the portion was enormous. I shared some with my husband at dinner, took the rest home, and we still managed to turn the leftovers into an omelet a couple of days later! My husband ordered the double-thick pork chop and loved it. We also shared the fried shrimp and calamari appetizer, and both the marinara and aioli were excellent. One small area for improvement would be helping the younger waitstaff become a little more comfortable guiding guests through the menu. When we asked for recommendations and what dishes the restaurant was especially known for, it took a little prompting before we got to Parmigiano. Our server was perfectly nice. It just would have elevated the experience to have someone confidently say, "This is what we do exceptionally well, and here's what I recommend." Overall, though, we had exactly the kind of evening we needed. We brought a bottle of wine, relaxed, talked, enjoyed the atmosphere and genuinely felt like we had gotten away for a while. Our bill came in at the $100 range, and we left completely satisfied. Great food, generous portions, a welcoming atmosphere and excellent value. We'll absolutely return.

Decor offers a taste of Italy and adds to the charm. Started with a few apps and a chicken parm for the table to share. The Carciofi alla Giudia, the classic Jewish-Roman deep fried artichokes were beautifully presented. A good bit firmer than you'd find in Rome but were still well enjoyed and recommended. Tonno salad with fresh seared tuna was plentiful and packed with flavor. Speaking of flavor the porchetta sandwich was rich and delicious. Really this is closer to a bbq pork than authentic porchetta but still recommended. The star of the show is the chicken parm and eggplant parm. The eggplant was delicate, thinly sliced melt in your mouth. Luckily you get a huge plate. Chicken parm is also excellent and HUGE. While there is $10 plate fee if sharing a main they are fine if you order several items and share all. Very generous with their shaved Parmesan if requested. Prices on the higher side but not all that bad considering the quantity. This feels more like the type of place you come to with a large group than as a couple. Unless of course you are very hungry. Service is excellent.

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

Service was on time, order was done correctly... we _think_. To be clear: * Don't rely on the menu descriptions. The alfredo sauce, for example, is not the creamy texture you're used to. It's cheesy bits in oil. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. And "truffles" were invisible - just the oil, not shreds of mushroom. * Compared to my favorite local establishment, The Pasta Shop in Denville, the pasta is a noticeable step lower in texture. There are fewer varieties of pasta here than the Shop, but on the other hand, much more customizable plates. The Pasta Shop is set up where you can order from their standard menu or their daily specials, withhold an item if you're allergic. Here at Flavio, you can choose your meat(s), sauce(s), toppings (up to 7, and then I imagine you can choose more at a cost). And you get a lot of meat - my chicken was hidden in the photo, but stirring turned it all up. And it wasn't too salty, and nicely grilled. But the other toppings, you get less. My arrabiata pepper was shredded in very sparse amounts. Struggled to find other veggies. Only a few garlic cloves, tho nicely roasted. Verdict? Will sacrifice quantity (of what can be ordered) for quality and stick with The Pasta Shop.
