I have been going to Softone Cleaners for 20 years. A couple of years ago I brought in a tablecloth during Christmas. When I came to pick it up, it had been given to another customer. Mrs. Kang tried very hard and finally found my tablecoth and returned it to me. Last Christmas 2024 I brought in a very old damask white table cloth with Pointsettias on it (white on white). It was in very good shape because it had always been laundered at a French laundry in the Bay Area. Once again when we went to pick it up it was no where to be found. So, I decided to wait until October and brought in the matching napkin to show Mrs. Kang what it looked like, since the holidays were coming up and I thought maybe whoever had my tablecoth would bring it in for cleaning. She said the tablecloth was very old and stained (it wasn't). This is a new story from her - she couldn't find it last time we were there. She asked me what I wanted and I told her that to replace it, it would be $300.00 (just a fact) - it wasn't polyester. She blew a gasket, got very rude and told me to take her to court. I asked her what she would offer and she said "nothing". Absolutely no remorse - doesn't care at all. I then asked her if someone brought my tablecoth back, would she please call me. She totally ignored me and blew me off. I find this behaviour outrageous and I do not recommend this cleaners. If it happened once - whatever - but it happened twice. Funny thing is that I stood up for this cleaner when there was another person complaining. Perhaps I shouldn't have. Mrs. Kang - I sure hope that you never lose anything that is sentimental to you and get nothing for it. A heartfelt apology would have been nice. This is not the way to do business. I didn't notice until two days later when I opened the shirts. I went back with the pink shirt that did not belong to me and explained what happened. The owner insisted that they never make mistakes and implied I was lying. This business and its owners (lady at the desk) do not stand behind their work. The owner of this business admitted that he handled, damaged my garment and hoped that I would not notice it. I confronted the women about the damage and was told they were not going to compensate or give me credit for the item. I was told I could call the police or get some else in a very threatening manner, as if I was going to get physical over a $40.00 shirt. I would avoid this business as they will damage your items and look the other way hoping you will not pursue them. Over the years, I've had them dry clean my clothes but I've never used their alteration services. Big mistake!!!! A simple "V-Neck" alteration turned into an alteration nightmare! *This business should NOT offer professional alterations if they're just going to ruin your clothes.* They charged me $24.00 to modify (3) three crew neck shirts into v-necks. To my dismay, when I went back to pick up my shirts I was petrified. It looked like a Mickey Mouse job because different materials were used and the stitching was painfully obvious. I was really looking forward to wearing these shirts while on vacation too. The clerk told me that he couldn't give me a full refund but offered me $5.00 to remedy the problem. I declined because in essence, I paid him $19.00 to mess up my shirts. It didn't make sense. I informed him that a full refund cannot compensate for the damage to the shirts which were worth $30.00 each. -smh- Yelpers are the new "word of mouth". Negative reviews are negative for a reason. This is the worst place ever! I took some pants to get folded at the bottom since they were just a tad bit long. I specified to this lady how I wanted them but I don't think she understand that well since her English isn't very good. She tells me she understands. I come get my pants which she charges $13 and i brought her two so overall $26 to just do a simple fold and that's the cost of my pants in general but whatever I was amazed at how rude she was that I mentioned she did it wrong, I then proceeded to ask for my money back so I can go somewhere else and she refused. And they had holes from scissor cuts all at the bottom of my pants and she was yelling at me because I insisted this was so horrible of her and her attitude was disgusting to ruin someone's clothes like that and she called me disgusting because I wanted the service I paid for. The older woman who manages the front desk is rude, unpleasant and completely shameful. I needed a dress cleaned for a wedding. She told me it would take a week to clean which was fine with me. As I came in to pick up the dress she made me pay for the service before I was able to look at the dress. Afterwards, I inspected the dress and it was filthy. They already had my dress for a full week and she told me to come back in another week. However the wedding was in 24 hours so that wasn't going to work. I explained the predicament to her and told her I understood that minor mistakes can be made & I understood that they wouldn't be able to clean it within the time needed. Therefore, all I asked was for a measly discount since the condition of my dress was just as poor as when I dropped it off. I don't believe it would be fair to make a customer pay for a service that was never provided. She refused - it was complete thievery for me to spend my hard earned money for nothing. She started shouting at me to come back next week instead of listening to the logic of the situation. This was the worst dry cleaning experience I've ever encountered. Do not ever come here please. Save your time, money, and frustration. The service here is poor and they do not care about your belongings and being reasonable. I have been a customer for 5-10 years by It unfortunately no more. Today when I picked up my clothes I mentioned that I noticed my clothes have been fading and on an occasion or two I've had spots on my clothes right out of the cleaner's plastic. I asked if they were using different chemicals and I showed them pictures of the spots and the fading for proof. While the son said if I see spots just bring the clothes back and they'll reclean it, the female owner got defensive. She said I must have washed the items or left them in the car too long. I explained that this is the only place I take my clothes because it's walking distance from my home. She went right along charging me $33 for the clothes I was picking up and offered nothing. Yet this us a very good cleaners their prices are a lil high. This morning I went in and asked how much it would cost to sew a strap on a denim bag I made for a Christmas gift. A simple jean bag would require two simple stitches at affix the strap. The lady behind the counter said $10.00 so before agreeing to the job I checked my funds and only had $9.00 so I asked if she would accept that and firmly she stated $10.00 I said im sorry I don't have that she turned and walked away without a thank you orva goodbye, i thanked her and put my item back in my bag and left. Although fault of no one that I didn't have enough to cover it but it's Christmas Eve and I still had to walk back to the market for items for tomorrow's dinner. The only thing I could think was wow $1.00 less than what she asked and she wouldn't do it. I could have taken the $1.00 back to her but that would have required me to walk back home and then back again to her with my already aching knees. Yet I don't go there enough for them to know me I won't be returning again and neither will my family members.
