I took my silk Tangzhuang jacket to Continental Cleaners, and they did an amazing job. The sleeves were originally too long, almost covering my hands, but they adjusted them perfectly. They also removed the shoulder pads and stitched everything up really nicely, you can't even tell they were ever there. Nick was the one who helped me, and he was kind, knowledgeable, and really took his time to make sure everything was done right. You can tell they care about their work and their customers. I dropped off six short and long sleeves polo shirts and sweaters to launder. Besides being somewhat expensive (about $5 per shirt), two of the shirts were damaged -- a very large three inch hole along the seam across the shoulder of one sweater as well as a one inch hole along the shoulder of a short sleeve polo that had no seams. The sweater was an older sweater but the short sleeve polo shirt was rather new. It was as if someone rubbed the sleeve against a cheese grater. Very disappointed. read more

They used to be good, but now... They don't actually clean all of ur cloths. They charge you for all of them but they don't actually clean them. I know it sounds weird, besides how much money could they be saving? But, I have had a number of shirts come back that didn't smell clean and didn't look clean. They were ironed but that was it. My husband and I have been using Continental Cleaners for over 5yrs. In the beginning there was light....wait wrong story....in the beginning their prices and service were exceptional. Our dry cleaning was done in a timely manner, everything was clean and well pressed all with a smile. They have an onsite cleaner and have same day services, so long as your garments are dropped off before 9am I believe. Prices again are very very reasonable and they open 7 days a week, comes in handy for those emergency cleaning needs. However we've noticed that within the last year or so the service has been changing and not for the better. I don't know if the staff has been charged with more responsibility and you know what they say when the cat is away the mice will play. The place used to be run exclusively by a Pacific Islander family, the two ladies there have always been super nice and were a pleasure to deal with. Now, like I said I don't know if the staff have been dealt greater run of the mill or if there is an ownership change. The older Hispanic lady is a hit or miss, she's not the greatest when it comes to customer relations and quite frankly the couple of experience I've had with her have been nothing like they were in the past with the other two ladies. My husband has mentioned the same thing about her, apparently with him she was a bit on the ruder side. The quality of work has also suffered, on several occasions we've received dirty garments back. We've had to give return them for additional cleaning and the hispanic lady doesn't take very kindly to that....but I don't take kindly to paying for a service and not getting it. I'm now in the market for a new dry cleaner, because her attitude is just not something I want to deal with. I suppose people either forget or don't care that if their business depends on the customer then customer service should be top notch. read more

I moved to the neighborhood and struggled to find a new dry cleaner, stumbled across this place and thought it looked like a quality place. had no issues the first 3 times I dropped off about 4-5 items. the last time I had about 8 items to drop off, went back on schedule to pick them up within 24 hours of the items being due to be ready and I was immediately asked by the employee if all the items in the bag were mine. I immediately notice there WAS a shirt mixed in with the items that WAS not mine. I have been using Continental Cleaners for years and have never had any troubles. They are the best value in Long Beach and have always done a great job with my clothing. I see on Yelp that others complain about the parking, but is always have found a place to park, especially on weekends when I go to the cleaners. The only thing wrong here is that some customers feel they are better human beings than the people that work here. I have seen some amazingly rude and disrespectful comments and interactions from their clients, and it is just not right. They do qualify as a good deal but I've been put off a few times with the size of pin they use to tag your clothes items. I had a visit where their prices went up quite a bit. Of course I drove my down comforter to a few more places only to find out that even with the increase they were a good deal. They also do a fair amount of Sheriff outfits so I feel safe in their parking lot. :::laugh::: But I do drive conservatively in the area because they have Sheriffs that come around often enough. I have always received wonderful reminder calls when I've parked an itme there for too long. I do appreciate that amount of care they take. Hence, I own over 30 suits and even more items that are law office friendly - you know what I mean :) I am so bad in fact that I often take in 60 pieces at a time to be cleaned. Do they blink and eye? No! In fact, most of the places I have gone to with that large of volume of clothes will tell me to come back the following week. WTF? good thing I own so many alternate suits and clothes :D But not continental - often times if it isnt the next day (which I usually drop off after 5pm), they'll tell me it'll be ready for the morning after, How convenient, and speedy is that?! They use good chemicals, etc. I know because the last time I took my stuff to a so-called bargain cleaner, it smelled like curry was burned into my clothes. YEAH - that bad. This place will take coupons (downloadable off their website) and your clothes are only 1.75. Anything! Even my full length wool coat I needed the same day! Plus where else are you going to find a cleaner that is open 7 days a week! Especially for those times when you say to yourself - oh crap! I need something to wear on Monday.
