I've been looking forward to going to Soak for a long time and even asked for a gift card as a birthday present to try it. It was the worst pedicure I'ver ever had! I was cut twice, first of all. The technician seemed clueless. She even sprayed rubbing alcohol on the cuts. You can't make this stuff up! Even if the prices were competitive with other spas in town, I would still never return. I did fill out a survey afterwards expressing my concerns and sharing my negative experience. I like to give people and businesses the benefit of the doubt. But I received no response or acknowledgement so it's fair to say they really aren't interested in customer satisfaction. I'm going back to Happy Foot Spa and City Nails, two great South Reno spots well priced and providing professional service. read more

Way over priced! Nice girls, but ridiculous prices! Won't be back. Supposedly I paid for the pampering package, but I was not pampered. Didn't even get the drink. You pay for what you don't even get....no thanks. read more

I have been going here for years so I am very frustrated and sad that I feel the need to write a bad review. I went in last week for my usual gel pedi and the service was far below the standard of service I usually receive. The pedicure was rushed and the polish was messy. When I left the owner was asking how our service was and I told her that I was less than pleased with the service that day. She asked me if I wanted a repeat pedi and I told her that just fixing the polish would be nice. When I go in for my new appointment they have booked me with the same girl which they said they wouldn't. Talk about awkward. Then she attempts to fix it with the same poor quality. Then I am thinking just don't book with her. I go to the desk to leave a tip and the front desk proceeds to charge me for the same poor service. Now I am furious! If I would have known I would be paying for another service I would have passed. Now I just spent over 100$ on a bad pedicure. I will NEVER go back. I don't think it should be on the customer for a fix it service. read more

SOAK - South Creek - Messy polish. - Nail Salons Near Me - Reno, Nevada

Came here for a moms day/night out with 3 of my friends. Great color selection, nice touch to have alcohol served as you relax for your pedi. I had the Signature Soak pedicure and Victoria was my technician. She was very sweet, friendly, and did a good job. I liked her a lot. All the ladies were actually very nice. I only took a point off because they are really pricey and I don't think the price is really justified. Saying that, it's a nice place to go for a special occasion and I wouldn't mind coming back. read more

Went for pedis with my friends yesterday and this place is great! The only reason I rated it 4 instead of 5 is because they don't have massage chairs (which, I believe, are key to the perfect pedi experience). Friendly staff and lovely setting! read more

Been to the Foothill Rd. Soak a few times and am usually happy when I leave. The last time was terrible! We were a party of 3 with a birthday and the girl who gave 2 of us manicures was terrible!! We didn't get a massage and the nail polish bubbled, and she didn't paint the shellac up next to the cuticles! The woman who greeted us had the worst attitude, they had booked our party all wrong so we had different aestheticians for different services on the same guest. Doubt we'll be back. My friends were disappointed as was I. We spent $275 that day! What a bummer. Service and quality of aestheticians has declined since opening. read more

If it weren't for my technician Isabel I would never go back.. let me start of by saying I was looking forward to my pedi, when I receive a phone call stating they had to cancel my appointment do to AC breaking.. I was very disappointed and maybe a little rude which I did apologize to the nice gal on the phone (I think her name was rossy ) and told her I would need something before Saturday, because I was going out of town, she did her best to accommodate my needs but stated she had no openings left for the week so I asked her to just cancel me, I would look for another place, she was very nice. I receive another phone call minutes later saying they would be able get me inn, I was happy to hear that, as I'm driving to the foothill location I receive another phone call from a different girl (not very friendly) saying I now had to go to the downtown location.. I was really overwhelmed by then. As a stated previously if it weren't because of Isabel I wouldn't have gone she is the best in town hands down! So I responded you don't expect me to be there in 10 minutes now do you? Very rudely she responded no I do not do you want to keep your appointment or not? Me already driving looking forward to it said it's fine. I arrive at the downtown location and notice my technician very disappointed, and asked her if everything was ok she then mention she had, had a rough time with one of the receptionist because of my appointment. That just pushed me to my limit. This place has one of the best, if not the best technicians in town please take care of your employees specially one like Isabel. read more

Had an appointment at 1pm. At 1:20 still no one to give me a pedicure. Kept being told that the nail person was finishing up. The appt was supposed to be for 1 hour. Had planned leaving at 2 pm. My guess is they took a walk in, that cut into my time. That was my first time to Soak. Left after waiting for 20 minutes. What a waste of my time. I will never go back. read more

I got a gel fill at Soak at noon on a Thursday. It was easy to make an appointment online and I appreciated being helped right away when I arrived. The decor was nicer than the average nail salon, and they had a large variety of gel colors and nail art. I'm not sure the service should have cost $10 more than my usual manicure elsewhere, but my nail tech did a great job and I would definitely return if I want to switch it up again! read more

Worst nail spa in Reno! Soak is a joke! Spoke with receptionist Roxanne who quoted me a price for a mani which I booked in addition to a pedicure. Drove across town and checked in for my appointments......magically the price doubled! The "supervisor" who was rude, condescending and not accommodating did nothing to help the situation. My friend and I stated we were no longer interested in having our services and the less than great management let us walk out unhappy! A nail appointment should be relaxing and you should leave refreshed.....we left stressed, upset and will never return. Epic fail Soak. If that's how you treat your paying customers I can't even imagine how you treat your employees! Reno beware! Bailey Polifka read more

I was there for a pedicure this morning and Jessica worked on my feet. I am not happy with the outcome. My heels were not scrubbed well period. The water in a steel container was not warm enough and I barely enjoyed the soak. They rush through the process and it was a big waste of money. In other words the service is really expensive for a poor job. I wouldn't go back again. read more

I stopped by the South Reno location on Monday to make an appointment in person due to questions I had. I asked if they did gels and showed the young lady at the desk my broken nail. She said they do a new procedure called shellac. I asked if they would be able to do the new shellac with the broken nail. Her answer was "oh yes, they will fix that broken nail". So I made an appointment for Wednesday at 11 am. When the email confirmation came I responded. When I went in today I was seated promptly. The manicurist came over with color samples. I told her I hadn't had shellac and asked her about the broken nail. She said oh we don't fix broken nails. The only thing she could do is cut and file all my nails short like the broken one. She apologized and referred me to the Legacy salon at the Summit Mall. She said they refer walk ins there. I drove to Legacy and had the broken nail fixed and a very nice manicure with gel. I will go to the Legacy salon in the future. read more

This review is two months late, but I'm deciding to write it anyways. So two days before, my friend and I booked an appointment for three Standard Soaks. While booking, we were delighted that they had an opening at a decent time and we also made sure to clarify that we were booking for the South Creek location. Later on in the day, we received a call to confirm our appointment, which we answered. We came in for our Saturday appointment about thirty minutes early. After waiting in the lobby for 5 minutes, we finally were noticed and went to check in. The very nice lady at the front desk seemed confused. She said that we did not have an appointment booked at South Creek, but we had an appointment for ONE pedicure at the downtown location. What the hell! That's not even close!!! So then another woman, whom we will call "Jessica" as a pseudonym, comes to the aid of the other girl who has just given us the bad news. She apologizes and asks us if we remember who made the appointment. When we say "Jessica", she is appalled. In response, she says "umm I'm the only Jessica here, and I never made an appointment like that!" Oh. Okay, then. I guess there's an imposter running around making false appointments at this salon under the name of "Jessica". We received no apology from "Jessica" and no one offered to rebook us. If only it were possible to rate their services, but that would require someone to actually possess the ability to book an appointment. read more

I spent some time online looking at pictures of manicures done at Soak and and I saw a lot that I liked - done by Angela. I called and scheduled an appointment with Angela for a Get Fresh mani and pedi. I was greeted as soon as I walked into Soak ....I couldn't find the color I wanted, and the lady at the front spent some time helping me look - she even brought out colors that were new and hadn't been introduced yet. Angela was fantastic - her massages are awesome! She helped me decide on a design for my nails and made some great suggestions for things to try. My appointment was scheduled to last two hours - and it ran about two and a half. I didn't mind the extra time - I appreciated that Angela was taking her time to make me feel pampered and she was trying really hard to make sure I was pleased with my mani and pedi! I only have one negative to my appointment - I saw a really cute purple purse and didn't get it! I may have to schedule another appointment with Angela - and next time that purse is going home with me! read more

I used to recommend SOAK to everyone in Reno. But the past 5 or so times I've gone, I've had less than an ideal experience. I have given up. My appointment today was ridiculous. I will not be returning, and I'm so disappointed that this is no longer a place I can frequent. So much was wrong with my appointment today. The woman didn't ask me how I wanted my toe nails cut or even if I did. Some of my nails are now so short they look like terrible nubs. Then the woman was using some sharp tool under my toes and gave no warning, it was so uncomfortable. Then she spent less than 3 minutes massaging me, for not just one leg but both of them... under 3 minutes. The woman was twisting my legs and rudely telling me to twist them back. She also finished my pedicure in HALF the time the woman next to me took finish my friend. I wasn't even able to have a conversation with the friend I was with. The woman doing my toes and the woman doing my friends toes kept interjecting in our conversations to the point where my friend and I couldn't even finish a conversation. The women wanted to talk about themselves. I'm more than open to talking to my pedicurists but it was as if they didn't care about us. Yes we were a later appointment but every time she would travel to the back, we could hear her saying she wanted to clock out and go home. That's just so unprofessional. I've had enough and I wish I could get a refund. It was not about the customers at all. ______ Their business manager reached out to me and apologized and is righting the wrongs. A complete waste of money and time. The quality of the polish was not inline with the name brand. Its almost like the poured the 99 cent top coat into the opi bottle. The polish took all day to dry! They did absolutely nothing special to warrant such a high cost mani and pedi! read more

Soak at Foothills is an interesting salon. I'm not from the area and found them on Yelp. Not the usual experience with the massaging chair which I missed. The brown sugar pedi scrub was nice. Maybe it was just my experience, but I received (other than some oil) no cuticle work during my mani which I asked about and was told wasn't needed. My cuticles were a mess. After the shellac polish I was told I was done. Again, I had to ask if a massage was included and then received one. For $80, I was surprised I had to ask for these basic services. Also, when I checked out, I was told I couldn't put a tip on the card. This wasn't posted at the desk and I don't normally carry but a few bucks. Luckily, I had enough to tip. Lastly, the eclectic music wasn't to my taste. Everything from jazz to country to techno to hip hop to spa to the hokey pokey. Try to stick to one or two genres in your mix. read more

The service we received was not worth the price. The location was cute (we love old houses) and seemed clean. But .... To begin, we were taken aback by the attitude we received; despite calling 15 min before our app started to say we were running late (Hot August Nights traffic was a nightmare!), we were given a speech upon arrival (barely 9 minutes past when we should have arrived) about how our service would have to be cut short because Soak was so busy. However our price was not reduced, naturally. This was laughable 30 min later as Soak was completely empty, save for a few customers waiting for their toes to dry. And yes, we were hustled out in 30 min. We arrived at 5.39 for a 5.30pm appointment that was supposed to last 45 minutes, according to the Soak web-based appointment app, and we were done and the manicurists gone by 6.09pm. If we had realized Soak was the equivalent of a drive-through "fast food" pedicure, we never would have bothered. Second, we were surprised when we were asked to place our feet in bowls of tepid water, rather than in an actual pedi bath (with running hot water, preferably attached to a massage chair). Following, throughout the service (Manicurist's choice or something related), we were simply not impressed. The massage was no more than rubbing in the lotion (and yes, we both told our manicurists that they could press harder). My nails weren't shaped well (and yes, I did request that they be trimmed and filed straight across). Neither of us had our feet exfoliated worth a damn (I think there was a pumice stone somewhere, and it might have touched my foot, despite speaking with the person at the beginning of the service and asking her to pay special attention to my callouses). Even the polish application seemed messy and uneven. We were both completely appalled at the service we received for $45. Then, on top of it, we were charged almost $9 for a cocktail. That is ridiculous - we had dinner at Brewers Cabinet and paid $6 for top-shelf mixed drinks not 20 minutes after we left Soak. If Soak is charging (or over-charging) for drinks, then they should have a menu, with PRICES LISTED so that their customers don't have stickers shock. We tried Soak because so many friends have recommended it; I can only think that they simply haven't tried anywhere else. We will not be coming back. Upon seeing the set up (feet soaking in bowls...) we should have left, however I was concerned the credit card I used to reserve our apps would be charged anyway. As an example, Foxy Nails, Happy Feet, Paris, & Strandz all have lower prices, much better technique (better exfoliation, longer massages, cleaner/sharper polish application, in addition to massage chairs), and a better attitude in general. We've never been charged for wine (or any beverage) at the other salons mentioned. And for their lower price, usually around $35 pre-tip, the services last 60 min at minimum, and include paraffin wax & hot stone treatments. Up your game Soak! Neither of us know how you stay in business! And after, in speaking with various people while we were at dinner, more than one person used the phrase "total rip off!!" to describe their own experiences. read more

I love this place. It's very clean, the girls are sweet, the chairs are comfy and the drinks are delicious. I got a pedi and mani with shellac polish and paid $80 before tip. I feel like the service I received was definitely worth the money. I look forward to my next visit. read more

Soak is a really nice, comfortable place to go! They serve drinks which is why I'll give it 2 stars. But honestly, I paid $50 for my manicure to last 4 days. After getting a gel polish, the paint started peeling off entirely! Not happy at all. read more

College students read this. Wayyyyyyy too expensive. There are so many places in Reno where you can get a better job done for way cheaper. I liked the whole "experience" of going to Soak- you can order a drink, the employees are extra nice, etc.- but the price is honestly not worth it. I went there with a $30 gift card and ended up having to pay $20 additionally out of pocket because it is so expensive. Also, when I was trying to make the appointment, the lady at the front desk was very rude 1. because I'm pretty sure she could tell I had never been there before 2. because I look like I'm 5, and she was probably wondering where my parents were. Super annoying. read more

By no means is this a referendum on the individual women performing the manicures and pedicures. This is more a review of the whole business. This place is way overpriced for what you receive. I came here for my bachelorette day and was extremely shocked by the price tag. The quality of the manicures and pedicures was decent, but by no means was it worth the money that they charge. In addition, the drinks should absolutely be included. You're paying an extortionate price for the services that you're getting compared to other salons with equal quality, and to have to pay for over priced, low quality drinks is kind of insulting. Also, they were out of over half the drinks they advertised. Have an updated menu so that people know what you actually have. This is a genius idea but you are clearly trying to get more than your moneys worth for what you offer. If you lower your prices and include the drinks, I think your reviews will improve. read more

I guess I should have read the reviews... This pedicure looked like a 5 year old did it with paint all over my skin and bubbles and chunks in the paint. I walked in and was so excited to share a pedicure with my grandma. When our pedicure started the girls brought out big bowls of Luke warm water with marbles in the bottom to soak in. I was a little disappointed at the temperature and the "salad" bowl, but wasn't gonna let that sway me. My girl realized I had gel polish on and said she didn't have the product to remove it. (I have always had it removed by letting it soak with acetone) so she proceeded to file and peel it off. When she got most of the product off she started my pedi. She clipped my nails and used a harsh scrub on my legs NOT MY FEET. She then quickly put lotion on me and wrapped my feet. When she started to polish she seemed like she didn't care that she got it all over my skin (I thought she would go back and tidy it up but didn't) she attempted to apply a top coat that was clearly old due to its thickness and was using an almost empty bottle so half of my nails only got partly covered. She was very gloomy and spoke about her rough personal life, so I didn't tell her that my pedicure looked like a 5 year old did it. When I went to pay I couldn't believe how much it was for how crappy and half-assed their service was. Bottom line this was not worth $80, It wasn't even worth $20 I had to go home and redo them myself. I will never go to another soak location I'd rather go to Walmart! read more

SOAK - South Creek - Nail Salons Near Me - Reno, Nevada

I had a basic mani/pedi and was not disappointed. The place is cute and clean but on the expensive side for their services. My nail tech Anna did an excellent job. She was very attentive to details and kept checking in with me to ensure that I was happy with her work. I'm pregnant so I was not offered a drink menu but was offered non alcoholic beverages, which the staff ensured I didn't run out of. The chairs are nice and comfy which I appreciate as I get uncomfortable easily. If you're willing to spend a little more I would recommend this place. read more

I went to SOAK today with gift certificates I have been saving to use for a special treat. The decor & cleanliness of the facility is great, but my positives stop there. The nail technician was fine--I have no complaints about her, though I don't think the prices are justified--but I was using gift certificates so wasn't as worried about the price. The front desk girl is another story--horrible doesn't begin to explain it. As I went to pay with my gift certificate she informed me the code was invalid. She actually made me feel as though I had created a fraudulent gift certificate. I explained to her that I had received it as a GIFT and after much back & forth (after submitting payment on my own cc), suggested maybe she could look in her system historically to see if there had been a GC sent/emailed to my gift giver for the same amount, even possibly in my name, that had not been redeemed. Eureka--she found it, it was there, and I wasn't a criminal!! At this point I requested a refund on my card, and I was informed "I don't know how to do refunds, and my manager isn't here to help you". She also went on the let me know she'd "been there for 3 years, and nothing like this has ever happened". I find that doubtful, but will take her word for it. Regardless, the customer service here simply doesn't match the price. I'll try the other location I guess to redeem my gift card, but dot feel particularly warm & fuzzy about giving this place anymore of my business. read more

A little disappointed in the ambience-to-tech match up. Feels amazing when you walk in, but pedicure was entirely rushed through. I don't feel I got my money's worth. In addition to this, I had to drive on my lunch break to get them fixed as they chipped not even a day later. Part of that was my accidental doing, some wasn't. Unsure if it was the tech or product.
