Honestly the service is not good and most of the time the food is sub par. Yet I come back multiple times a month. Why? The main reason is one of the bartenders, Mavis. I've been going for 3 years and there's nothing better than seeing Mavis with a smiling face and a friendly hello. With Mavis there the service is 10/10, without her it drops to a 3/10. Decided to try this place out, As I sat at the bar wondering why Sundown @ Granada was much busier, I quickly realized why. The burgers here are pretty good, but the service was bad enough to disregard the taste of the food. I have never experienced such wacky behavior in a bartender. She was clearly upset with her own staff ( because she went on & on about it, so unprofessional) it was uncomfortable to hear it. I hate to leave this review because I've always thought of Snuffer's as a Dallas staple, but my visit today was honestly shocking. The food itself was fine, but it became difficult to continue eating after what I witnessed from a member of the wait staff. A male employee repeatedly made hawking noises and spit into the trash can near the fountain drink station. From my table I could also see into the kitchen area, where I watched him blow mucus from his nose into the sink and onto his hand. He then used that same hand to wash and refill a coffee cup. I also saw him put his pen in his mouth before using it again while handling tickets. After witnessing all of this, we were unable to finish our meal. It was extremely concerning from a cleanliness and food-handling standpoint. I've always liked Snuffer's, which is why this experience was so disappointing. The restaurant seriously needs to address the professionalism and hygiene standards of the staff before I would consider returning. read more

Snuffer's on Lower Greenville is one of my favorite spots. The atmosphere reminds me of Cheers-- friendly, relaxed, and the bartenders know everyone. Mavis always remembers what kind of tequila I like. The burgers are excellent, and the fries are always crispy, hot and generously served. Had an amazing time before and after the Lily Rose concert at the Granada on 9/19/26. It's the perfect before and after a concert stop next door or just a good place in general to hang out at. Our bartenders were on their game. The Bar was clean, drinks were cold, and service was friendly and fast! Fun environment and we will definitely be back. Preferably sit at the bar if Mavis is working. So good that I came on a Friday night just for food. Stayed for two hours. I went to the Greenville location with some friends to plan my brothers bachelor party. Since 1998, I've been going to Snuffer's for the cheese fries (loaded, extra crispy) and $3.50 tall boys, and I pit up with the subpar service. But I went this week and we had the best service ever. White boy Chase hooked us up and kept us laughing the entire meal. In my eyes, Snuffer's had been on the decline in the past decade--WBC saved my hope in the Snuffers organization. read more

Service was good and friendly. Ordered bean and cheese nachos and a Cobb salad. Cobb salad was great. Tangy honey mustard dressing. The bean cheese nachos, a bit disappointing, way, way, way too much cheese and way way way too little beans. I've been coming here for over 30 years. This was a regular Friday night go-to after football games and before my curfew. 30-some years later, the nostalgia hits hard, even if the cheese fries aren't quite as wonderful as I remembered. The service was slow, but we weren't in a rush, so it wasn't a bother. They were good at refilling sodas and were all friendly. This is a great spot for groups. They have a varied menu with something for pretty much any diet. I'm vegetarian and got a black bean burger and my friend got a cheeseburger. We shared an order of large cheese fries. I've been going to the OG Snuffers on Greenville Avenue since the 1980s. Love their fries (loaded) chicken sandwiches and burgers, however, on my last visit, I was disappointed! The burgers are not the same as they used to be. It seems there may have been a change to the recipe! I suspect that made an effort to be "healthier" they have eliminated some salt from the usual seasoning of the meat. It used to be you could count on a big juicy burger cooked perfectly to a medium temperature that was full of flavor. When I began to frequent the Dallas area, I asked my work colleagues for a local chain that they might recommend. Many came back with the same response, Snuffers! Buffalo sauce was a standard heat level although they had other flavors to choose from. BURGER I loved my burger! Based on other's reviews, I went with the green chili option and it did not disappoint. The beef patty was not overworked or dense; a great eating experience that didn't leave me overly stuffed. CHEESE FRIES *Everyone* I talked to raved about the cheese fries. Here's the sticking point...they were just okay. Snuffers takes an oval, ceramic dish and layer it with traditional fries and melt shredded cheddar cheese on top. If you ask for 'em loaded, they add bacon and then top with green onions. I honestly don't get it; I could do this in my kitchen. Overall, Snuffers is a solid joint for typical bar food. The burgers are delicious and lighter than other venues; I would definitely come back for one. If for nothing else, I appreciated the drive down the street this Snuffers is located. I thought the food at Snuffers was outstanding. I had the Dr. Pepper BBQ Bacon burger with a side of fries. To my surprise, the burger was actually cooked medium. I find a lot of places ask you how you want your burger cooked, and no matter what you say it is well done. Not here! I'd definitely visit Snuffers again for a burger and fries. It was later in the evening when we came in, definitely after the dinner rush. I thought the restaurant was a bit on the dirty side and our table was sticky. The other odd thing is a guy came in off the street selling stuffed animals and candy and was going table to table trying to sell us all stuff. But today made me feel really bad. Don't get me wrong, I do try different places. My only complaints today is the food could have been hotter and delivers on time. We had the sliders with Sweet potato fries and salad and had to send the the fries back, they need a little more heat and attention. The chicken slider with slaw was a little too small and crispy. The beef slider need some work. The food had been sitting there for a few minute. It was barely warm. The atmosphere was ??. The waiter was very nice and considerate. I am, to be honest, trying so hard to not gag as I am writing this review. One of the servers was spitting and snotting in a trash can near the fountain drink area. He didn't wash his hands once. He literally leaned over and pressed his finger over one nostril and blew in front of all seated customers. I grew up down the street from the original Snuffer's and I brought my daughter to my "old stomping grounds." She got the hot honey chicken sandwich and I got the mushroom Swiss burger, and of course we got a big order of cheddar fries. It did not disappoint. Chase was our server and he was AWESOME. So fast, so friendly. We went at about 3:30 in the afternoon, so the place wasn't packed. Did not get cocktails, had a long day ahead. This was my first time at Snuffer's. We were able to sit down right away, however it took quite awhile to even get silverware and some water brought to our table. I ordered the grilled chicken platter with sweet potato fries and the house salad. While ordering, I had asked if the house salad came with cheese and was told it did not. Upon receiving my food, the salad did in fact come with cheese. The grilled chicken was cooked but a little tough and dry on some pieces. My sweet potato fries came out room temperature like they had been sitting out for a bit. My friend ordered the cheese fries, hot chicken slider, bacon cheddar slider, and a side Caesar salad. The cheese fries were a hit, but everything else she said wasn't the best. Our waitress was attentive with refilling drinks and clearing plates, however she was not super knowledgeable about the menu. read more

Snuffer's - unprovoked violence and aggression from staff, theft, and shenanigans Last night, I had a disturbing experience at the Greenville Avenue location in Dallas. I stopped by to pick up a takeout order and, needless to say, the simple transaction did not go well... I walked over to the corner area of the restaurant designated for picking up food orders, and was intentionally standing behind the sign until the server asked me to step to the register to use my phone for Apple Pay on a device attached to the kiosk. I step forward to the register, and just to the left of the register, Dave SLAMS the door just to the left of the register open, and it loudly smacked into the corner of the counter, coming about 1" from my face. The server was helping me remarked to Dave saying that he is opened the door with a lot of aggression. The response to that was a sarcastic "you're standing too close to the door". Mind you, the door had a window that he could look out of, and I'm a large person. He knew exactly what he was doing. Then when I mentioned that it was not ok, he looked at me in the eyes with an attitude, shrugged and said "you were too close to the door" His eyes said "do something about it" I had to talk to a manager on duty to get Dave's name, as Dave and his coworker with a red ponytail refused to tell me and instead were aggressive. I asked multiple people for Dave's name and no one could give it to me. Thing about this experience it's filled with red flags. Apparently, Dave told the GM that he was intimidated because I was large. So I guess in his mind, and apparently Mr Bryant, the GM, that is not an issue worth offering more than a handshake and the phrase "the customer is always right, even when they're not." Obviously, I will never go back. I gave them another chance after they attempted to steal $10 from me by adding a tip that I did not leave to a takeout order. I had to call my bank to dispute that one. I've been service industry for over a decade. I know how hospitality works. Please folks, find another place to get a burger. read more
