3 stars max. My colleagues and I went to Snout & Co for lunch. I ordered the vegetarian bowl - it was really just rice and beans with some greens. So so at best. My colleagues ordered the non vegetarian options, they were ok - plenty of meet, but the cheese was not melted. The service at the truck was fast and it was provisioned withing minutes of placing the order. I think there are better options for food truck lovers in the SLU area. Came here on a whim on my lunch break and I was glad I did. After careful thought and Yelp reviewing, I decided on the Seattle Cuban. For $8 and a few minute wait, it wasn't bad at all. The size of the sandwiches are pretty decent, but the flavor in this thing was HUGE! They don't skimp on the pork, and the mango chimchurri was alright, but seemed to be overpowered by the amazing flavor of the pork. Good press sandwiches. I was going to try the Cuban this time but reading the description of the Seattle Cuban won me over (again). The sandwiches are very easy to eat and have a great balance of relish, sauce, meat, and MANGOOOooo. The plantains are ok BUT the sauce they're in is really good. There's definitely potential here. Folks are friendly. Food was ready CRAZY fast...fast enough that sandwiches may be pre-assembled (which is fine). But temperature was off. Both BBQ sandwich and Cuban sandwich were lukewarm and closer to cold than warm, which wasn't so pleasant. The BBQ had decent flavor with a big pile of meat. Messy and a bit greasier than expected, but tasty. The Cuban was dissapointing. Bread was good, and hooray for pickles! But the pork itself was very bland. Honestly, the sandwich's really only flavor was pickle. The plantains side was delicious! Perfectly prepared plantains with a really really lovely sauce. So that was definitely a hit. Reading the reviews, sounds like their bowls are way better...guess I'll try that next time. read more

A Cuban Brisket Taco? Why, yes, please. I had Snout and Co yesterday for the first time at the Mobile Food Rodeo. The taco was soft, the brisket was tender and the slaw was crisp. It was a great taco at a pretty good price-point. I would definitely try them again if I ever catch them. Everyone on the truck was friendly and the food came out quickly. Visited the Snout truck parked in the Toyota dealership lot near Amazon-land, south of Lake Union on a weekday at about 11:45. The line was already lengthening. The Seattle Habanero was good, but as others here have commented, Snout is not Paseo. What makes Snout stand out is their dressing/sauce - unusual and flavorful. Portion size is smaller than Paseo, and about the same price, around $10, sans tip, including a canned soda. Finally, some have commented that delivery is "crazy fast". Just don't expect less than a five minute wait at peak time on a sunny day - more like fifteen minutes. Come early, and enjoy listening in to the conversations in line. read more

Get the fried chicken tender sandwich. It was likely the best fried chicken sandwich I have ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy, tender, juicy, flavorful. I could have eaten it by itself and I still would have give this review 5 stars. The sauce, the bun...everything was amazing. Plus they have legit southern hot sauce that is truly hot and not watered down for the masses. On top of everything, it is only 9 bucks. I will be coming back at least once a week for this. The best cuban sandwich in Seattle next to Paseo (it's not really a fair comparison though is it?). The mojo pork is perfectly smoked and ridiculously juicy. The bread is buttery and crispy. The veggie burger, a deep fried beet/quinoa burger with a slab of (also deep fried) blue cheese on top is hands down the best homemade veggie burger I have ever eaten. Considering I was a vegetarian for four years, that's a damn good burger. The chimichurri on the Seattle Cuban is delicious, and don't forget to get the spicy sauce to dip the sandwich in as that stuff is out of control. Probably the truck I most want to see in all of Seattle. Oh and the collard greens are awesome! And the brisket taco I had from them at the taco truck-off was the best taco there. I love this truck. Not sure how I've lived here without tasting Snout and Co until recently! I went at noon, which seemed early for lunch since there was no line to be seen (yet). I chose the Homemade Black Bean Burger, with the Cuban Bread Pudding for dessert. After a short wait I was presented with the goods and when I was asked if I wanted "spice" to go with the burger, having no idea what that meant as a Snout & Co. newbie, they popped it in my bag anyway and told me to try it. Service was very quick and friendly! Snout & Co is a hands down HIT. My black bean burger had an amazing crispy exterior, satisfyingly crunchy but smooth & creamy on the inside. It was everything a meat lover could ask for in a veggie burger. The arugula is a tasty substitution to ordinary bland lettuce, great paired with the tart onion relish and creamy havarti cheese. There was a slight spiciness and the side of "spice" I received was a thin sauce that surprised me with a very sweet initial taste, then slow and gentle burn. I couldn't get past the sweet flavor, was it pineapple juice? Coconut water? It was delicious, regardless. The Cuban take on bread pudding was surprisingly savory. A gentle dollop of fresh whipped cream sat atop a mound of custard-y bread, rum and plantains. The rum flavor was significantly lacking and may have provided the pudding with more of a dessert feel. However, the overall lack of sweetness was refreshing in a dessert that is so typically overly sweet and rich. Eventually the line grew outside the truck and it sounded like the Cuban bowl (Mojo pork, black beans, rice, plantains and smoked tomatillo-coconut sauce...possibly the "spice" I was given?...), is a customer favorite worth keeping in mind for next time. Lunch was reasonably priced at $8 for the burger and $4 for the pudding, and provides plenty of flavor bang for your buck. read more

I'm a big fan of the veggie bowl at Snout & Co. It's packed with rice, beans, collared greens, plantains and this delicious sauce. The greens, plantains and sauce are my favorite part! Everything is so flavorful- I never knew collared greens could be so yummy! At $6, its a better price for portion than most food trucks- if you're not super hungry, this is almost two lunches for me. I have eaten at Snout and Co. more times than I can count. (They stop right outside my work consistently). I have never had a bad experience with regards to service or food. The food is always extremely tasty and prepared quickly. While they do have a "regular" menu they also run a good selection of specials. My personal faves are the Pork Loin Sandwich, the Pulled Pork Sandwich or the Cuban. I recently tried the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was phenomenal. I really wasn't expecting a simple chicken sandwich to be that good. Quick tip: Check their Facebook for specials and locations of the truck. I am not one to hand out 5 stars easily but due to the consistency over so many visits it bumped the score. read more

YES DUDE. My friend just got married, and genius that she is, chose Snout & Co to do the catering. It was the simplest, quickest and cheapest catering setup I've ever seen for a wedding. The two people who came were crazy nice, and as somebody who loves Cuban food- their grub was delicious. I've had to go to so many effin weddings, and I always eat some dried out food because no matter who caters the menu is always pretty whitebred and "safe". (Salmon, chicken, some sad beef, rice pilaf, slimy green beans, you know the drill). How ecstatic was I to have tostones and collard greens? Bomb pork and black beans? And that tomatillo sauce? Jesus, it was awesome. There were tons of leftovers so I could snag a second plate without people glaring daggers at me. I visited Snout & Co. for the first time today at the Harley Davidson Food Truck thing. I've spent the last decade with a craving for Cuban sandwiches. I don't tend to seek them out, but if it's around and available, it's the choice I make. Snout's Cuban is Fanbloodytastic. The pork has a great flavor and the combo with the cheese ham and pickle is just delicious. There's not a lot of bread to get in the way of the insides and crunchiness of the bread crust was unanticipated and good. We enjoyed the Cuban so much that we went back and got the Seattle Cuban to go for dinner, which was also very good - even cold. I will be searching this truck out in the future. I'd like to try more of their menu and eat some more of that delicious pork. read more

Who knew that slow-cooked pork could be so bland and dry. I really wanted to like Snout and Co. I've seen their truck drive around the neighborhood, checked out the website and was excited that finally there'll be a place near Shilshole to get a sandwich on a Sunday (I am looking at you, Paseo. Really, closed on a Sunday, even during the summer time???) Anyways. We got (1) cuban platter and (2) carolina bbq sandwich. The tastiest thing out of the entire order were the plantains. Also a side note - I understand that this is a truck, so plating is very secondary here, but the way the Cuban platter looked was VERY unappetizing. The pork chunks were all over, the pork itself was grey (?), plantains were buried in the rice-and-beans mess. Maybe they dropped the box before they gave it to us, I don't know. It just looked messy, and grey, and sad. Everything was bland. The pork was bland. And dry. And had no color and looked boiled. Rice and beans had good texture but absolutely NO flavor. There was a TINY bit of sauce that came with the platter but it was not enough and didn't improve the overall flavor - the dish was very underseasoned and there was not enough sauce to save it. We didn't see a self-serve station with salsas/sauces. Maybe we missed it. The Carolina bbq sandwich was better than the platter, but i thought their sauce was too sweet and, again, there was not enough of it!!! The whole thing was just too dry. Maybe it was just an off day and we'll have to give them another try. But honestly, I am in no rush to drop another $20 on what tastes like a bunch of dry leftovers thrown together. read more

man! I haven't had a cuban sandwich in seattle EVER. (once in NYC, but that was all). this place is great! I had the Cuban Sandwich and a side of rice and beans. The sandwich itself should have been enough for me but I thought since it was my 1st time to the truck I'd try more. The cheese, pickles and mustard made that sandwich AMAZING! The pork was alittle hard to bite through at times (but i have weird teeth, so who knows). The bread is great. Crunchy and soft. All supporting the tasty insides. i'm not a fan of the rice and beans though. The portion you get for $2.50 is great, it's the flavors that don't do it for me. I'm a bit of a food Separatist and don't like my sides to touch eachother (unless i choose to). and these were all mixed up giving it a strange taste. Oh well, I'll just skip those next time. When I arrived later at Mobile Chowdown, they were out of everything except for the Picadillo (Cuban Hash) [$5]. Great, that was what I was aiming for. So alas, the precious thing came into my hand. Now, I warned you, I went to Miami and for days and back I ate authentic Cuban food at hole-in-the-walls where the waiter only smiled while I pointed at the menu at the things I wanted. I feel like an alien. So, nothing can impress me now when it comes to Cuban. The bowl was small, for 5 dollars. A fried plantain was sticking out the pyramid, just a greasy Cuban french fry. The pyramis exists in the form of white rice at the bottom then spread out whole tomatos, minced meat, and green chili. The minced meat had great flavor, but it was lacking in amount. Fun fact, since I don't like tomatos or rice, I only consumed the meat with the green chili. It was okay. I guess.The chili can't be called chili because it didn't make my tear ducts beg for mercy. Good addition though, just to spice things up. See what I did there? ;) read more

wanna give a four but leaning towards a 3.. 3.5? am not super stoked to my next visit but i'll stop if it's along the way... had the seattle cuban. to me its... kind of bland... why? compared to Paseo's Cuban sandwich it's nowhere near.. why? because the SC is... just... flat? paseo's bursting with flavor and messy. BUT GOOD! don't get me wrong here, this is the 3rd cuban sandwiches i've tried my entire life and now i am doubting whether paseo is the real deal or not. this cuban sandwich is light, the ingredients aren't over-empowering, not greasy, and therefore tasted healthy (to me healthy stuffs aren't that tasty). compared to paseo's, this is the DIET version of cuban sandwiches. there you go. i can't help to compare with paseo as paseo sandwiches makes me hungry now and they did blew up a memory space and left a taste-memory scar in my brain. snout's apparently don't... sorry guys, but hey, several people think it's great so keep up the good job! had the plantains with coconut garlic somethin somethin.. pretty tasty snack albeit the overabundance of minced garlic. both items costed me $11 and left me still rather hungry. i guess this is a good light-healthy-lunch meal! read more

Best collard greens with ham hocks EVER! You can get them veggie style too if you don't eat meat. Seriously, if you go for any reason, go for the collard greens. I work dayshift so I can only go on Wed and Sun, but you bet I'm going again! Oh, and did I mention their picadillo? It's the real deal! Just like my mama used to make. I spent my early childhood years in Tampa and we grew up on lots of Cuban food. Now the owner just needs to open a sit down restaurant and we're set. I HIGHLY recommend this place. I just finished my leftovers and I'm craving more already. Even my vegetarian boyfriend (who is the worlds pickiest eater) LOVED the black beans and rice and veggie style collard greens! They are in downtown Bellevue for lunch every Monday. There is usually a small line, but it goes through pretty quick. Tried the Seattle Cuban, and the BBQ Pork Sandwich. Both were tasty. The BBQ pork sandwich is basically a pulled pork burger with a fancier bun stuffed with lots of tender pulled pork. They heap on a lot of BBQ sauce and their finishing sauce, which gives it a strong flavor, maybe a little over the top. The Seattle cuban is slightly bigger on an elongated sandwich bread. It has an interesting tangy sour taste. Some people may not enjoy that mix of flavors as much. read more
