    Lunch special.

I recently came there on a Sunday with a friend for lunch. The place was pretty empty when we arrived, but a few other patrons started to show up. Snappy Dragon has been in Seattle for many years, so it does have a bit of an older feel to it without updating much of the interior. It's nothing flashy, just a casual, almost hole-in-the-wall feel of a restaurant. It's definitely Chinese-American cuisine, so for those looking for authentic traditional Chinese dishes, this isn't the place for it. A nice aspect of Snappy Dragon is that you can get an affordable lunch with decent portions. For an entree, soup, and choice of spring rolls or pork, you get all that together for about $13-$15 depending on what you choose. I went with the Seven Flavor Beef with peanuts entree while my friend had the Mongolian Beef. Both were tasty with a bit of sweetness, though the flavor profile was pretty similar between the two. The BBQ pork was quite dry, making it the least favorite of what I got. Overall, for the price. It's not bad. It's simple and gets the job done.

My FIL has been frequenting Snappy Dragon for years. My husband has had his left overs a few times and kept mentioning how we needed to try it out, in person. We finally got around to going for lunch. Their lunch menu is amazing. All entrees come with your choice of rice, choice of soup, and an appetizer (BBQ Pork OR Spring Roll). The prices range from $12.50-$14.50. I got the Mongolian Beef. The entree portion was generous. Great flavor & tender beef. I picked the BBQ Pork for my appetizer, it came with 3 pieces. It was tasty, wished there was more! My husband got the General Tsos (not on the menu but they offer it as a lunch special!) He chose the Spring Roll, and Hot & Sour soup (he got my portion too bc I'm not a soup person). He enjoyed his food as well. We are itching to go back! Can't beat the price and the food was great!

3.5/5. Came here on a Weds evening. We ordered a variety of dishes at Snappy Dragon including the homemade chow mein snappy dragon noodles, moo shu pork, the 7 spices beef dish, and fried wontons which were all flavorful and generously portioned. Everything came out hot and in a timely manner. Th The fried wontons were our favorite dish, the others just didn't hit as we'd like. Also, I unfortunately ended up with some stomach discomfort afterward. It may have just been an off day as no one else in my group had issues but it was something to note. Overall, the food was tasty and plentiful, and service was friendly. There's limited parking in their parking lot but parking on the main street or in the neighborhood is available.

As you can see I have been a long time fan of Snappy Dragon, I waited forever for indoor dining to resume. I was so happy it was back, I think I only got take out one or two times in the past 4 years. I've been back twice since the reopening and sadly it is not the same. I do appreciate that they still have the same vegetarian menu, the dining room looks the way I remember it, I still love the sauces, but both meals my food has disappointed me. One of my favs was the vegetarian jiao-zi, on my first visit back I ordered 26 pieces for a lot of money. I was so upset to find that they now contain mushrooms (not updated on the menu) and I don't like mushrooms. Ugh. I probably should have tried to send it back, but instead forced myself to eat 25 of them. On this visit my friend also found her noodle dish to be different from memory, seems a machine now assists with the noodle making. My 2nd favorite is the green onion pancake, so I tried this on my next visit, the pancake was way too cakey. I showed my dining partner pictures of the old version and she could totally see what I was talking about. The Kung Pao Tofu was better, but I now have a new favorite place for this elsewhere. Portions were still huge, service was decent. I'm mostly writing this review because I don't want others to experience the let down I did, I might make it back one day but it is definitely going off my radar. The good news is the place has been less crowded, they do still seem to be doing a strong takeout game. I do like the fancy new chopsticks. You can still get tea.

Rude customer service! They couldn't get our order right nor could they adequately refund our order. This place has gone down hill.

The restaurant was lively with a moderate noise level. A simple family restaurant that puts out authentic Chinese food. My companions both ordered the Black Mushroom with Chicken Rice in a stone clay pot. Their regular meal at the restaurant. I selected the Braised Beef Brisket with vegetables in a clay pot. The two rice dishes require 20 minutes to prepare hence my Braised brisket arrived first and bubbling hot. The flavors were rich and deeply satisfying. So good that my companions plan to order the Braised brisket next time. The Chicken Stone pot clay rice bowls arrived soon afterward. My friends enjoyed their dishes. Fresh tasting and delicious crispy rice. One ordered a Milk Tea and enjoyed it. Highly recommended for an authentic meal when you are in Seattle's International district!

A tiny place with big portion and authentic food…read more We came here on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was almost fully packed. I had my all time favorite dish at a Hong Kong café cuisine, gon caau ngau ho (乾炒牛河), aka beef chow fun, along with a childhood favorite drink, iced Horlicks. I liked how everything moved at a quick pace here and yet the staff were still friendly. The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun. I hadn't had Horlicks in twenty years, and the first sip brought back so many memories. Be sure to stir it well and maybe wait until the ice melts a little, otherwise it may be slightly too sweet. My partner is a vegetarian. He looked through the entire menu and said there weren't many things he could order (listen, people, choose your future SO accordingly if you like sharing big meat dishes). He ended up ordering the curry vegetable rice and added a fried egg. He said the curry was delicious. I tried a bite of it and agreed. I think there may have some coconut milk in it because it was rich and creamy. The rice was a little too dry to my liking. Sitting there and listening to the background music from the Hong Kong TV news, I felt like a kid again.
