We found this place by getting a gift certificate from the Register Guard. Dad and I (carnivores in the family) liked what we saw on-line as the burgers there can be up to 1lb yummmmm. So anyway after getting lost a few times trying to find this place, we found it. Little small and unassuming. Even the times when I thought no one else was there, other filed in so it's obviously known. The bathroom is kept up well. This is what I would call a ma and pa diner place... I got stuck at the burgers but I've seen the fried chicken and several other options. The burgers are simply fantastic! I love them. A variety of toppings and sizes. I love that you can get a small burger up to a 1 lb monster. Don't be shy try something new. Yummy sides. Good salads and they make super fantastic out of this world shakes and malts!!! If you can get Shilo (sp?) as your server you will NOT be disappointed! She is awesome and OH SO FRIENDLY!! Love her. Listen the one thing you need to have is a shake or malt. Okay? My go-to place. Go to for a hearty meal or a delightfully tasty side. Either way, this place is reasonable in terms of price and great on the taste buds. I like how the food isn't too much in terms of portion. Along the same lines, the food is just right. This is bbq and country-style food without being too fancy or too much. I don't like the idea of comparing the Snack Shack to Papa's, but it has to be done. I like the Snack Shack much more because it actually taste good! Papa's seems to lack taste. Going to the Snack Shack, don't expect southern food transplanted or teleported from the South to Eugene, but just expect some good home-cooked food. This is a good place to get a hamburger, some chicken, chili, or meatloaf. Burgers run pretty steep, but that's because it's a big burger with fries, but I could see how the burger is a little expensive. Either way, I like the food here. I usually get the specials. I call in my order sometimes and they're pretty quick about it. The only thing I'd change is hours of operation. I wish this place would stay open later. Both were delicious large burgers and a challenge to eat without the back side falling out. Good food, good value, good service. Staff is friendly and it feels like home. Small quaint dining. If you can't stand to leave your house, enjoy their convent grub hub delivery option. Their side salads are great size and have a good mix of veggies and cheese on top. I asked for no bun and they did a wonderful lettuce wrapped bacon mushroom cheeseburger! This place was worth the visit and many more! They have the typical diner style foods. We got a Western Bacon Cheeseburger w/ Tots and the Club with Curly Fries. The club was amazing, as we already assumed from all the other Yelp reviews. The Western Bacon was pretty darn good as well. They put 3 onion rings on it!! The tots and fried were perfectly cooked and crispy. The ranch dressing they have, for whatever reason, was next level. The environment was cute and staff was very friendly. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Its on the smaller side so might not be ideal for groups during the busy hours. The ONLY complaint i have is that we sat outside and they do seem to have a fly/wasp problem. They were everywhere and it only got worse when our food came out. I will definitely be coming back but ill sit inside next time :). Side note: There is some construction going on currently causing a detour to get to the place. Should be temporary. read more

I have literally driven past this spot at least 100 times and paid it no notice. It is completely unassuming and not in a place you would necessarily think of for food. I was able to order online easily. Food was ready early ( always a plus in my book) and it was great. Burger was cooked perfect and I loved the mom and pop roadside shop feel. When I picked up my order the woman working told me she put a to go menu in my bag because the online order system is through a third party and charges you extra even if you are picking up your own food rather than having it delivered. So delicious! We were feeling hungry so I decided to stop by Snack Shack for a quick drink. Ordered their (always the best I've ever tasted) Strawberry Lemonade but were so tempted by the menu that we decided to order some food. Ordered their regular quarter pound burger without cheese, but when I got it it mayo (which I'm allergic to) and she was so kind about remaking it. Are the burger she remade and it was probably the best burger I've ever eaten. The food is so delicious and I can't believe this place isn't more popular and widely known. Overpriced garbage. Tried their bbq and it tasted like liquid smoke on roasted meat that had also been microwaved. Tried their burgers and there's nothing special about them to justify the price. Went here with my wife not long ago. We used to come here a long time ago when it was Susie's Country Burgers...the best burgers in Eugene. Then, it changed to Steve & Cindy's Country Burgers...also excellent burgers, hardly anything changed with the burgers. Steve & Cindy's moved to the Value-Village shopping center area before it went bye bye and became a taco joint. Well, let me tell you, the burger I had was really durned good. Excellent balance. The bun was toasted just right, the tomatoes were fresh and tasty, and the onions sliced really thinly. American cheese is available, and is what I prefer. I got the half-pound Jumbo, the pictures of which I uploaded. I was in burger heaven for a while...until I finished it...then I slipped softly into burger coma. Bliss. Such sweet bliss. I'll be back. A friend of mine here in town introduced me to this place. The two of us took a friend of ours from Berkeley there for lunch in June but I ended up having the delicious full breakfast. The eggs were perfectly over-easy, the bacon was crisp, and the hashbrowns were just the way they ought to be. By the way, I am disgusted with the two far-left-wing wackos on here who criticized the restaurant because it dared to put up a sign reading " blue lives matter." People like them preach about free expression, but it's only for those they agree with. I don't think reviews that have a political ax to grind should be allowed to stay up here. They are highly offensive. The ax-grinders say the food is good, but yet they want to drive the restaurant out of business. They are not here to review the food, but to push a political agenda. Why are these kinds of reviews permitted to stay up, and why can't someone flag them for their bias? read more

It's relatively easy to go to a highly Yelp rated place, have a great meal, rate it high yourself, and never go again. What's difficult is to go to the same place a number of times, eating something different each time, and have that experience repeat itself each time. And that's the case with this place. Every meal I've had, with one exception, has been great. The burgers, country fried steak and eggs.....all fantastic. So is the friendly staff who are always cheerful and glad you decided to stop in. Definitely small dining area with an eclectic collection of furnishings with some a little worse for wear. All clean and functional making a cozy little place to settle in for some good, made to order cooking. What was the meal I didn't really care for? The BBQ ribs. I'm a believer BBQ should stand on its own without sauce. Theirs was pretty bland and smothered in store bought (albeit Babby Rays) sauce. The meat was very tender though. And that's why I started the review the way I did. But for this one item on the menu, and with several past exceptional dining experiences, a solid five star place. Wow! Stumbled across the diamond in the rough. The food is fantastic and huge portions. The chicken strips were thick and juicy, made of all white meat chicken and the hot stuff burger lived up to one of the best burgers around....old school crinkle cut fries to top it off.
