I have come here on and off for the past five years. Becca is great, but is always booked with regulars. I have seen Cindy/Nhi and she is really good. A few weeks ago I went in for a gel manicure and got an older woman I hadn't seen before. She tried to up-sell me the polish powder for $8 more. I told her the gel polish was fine, She kept insisting (4 times!) saying that the gel would peel. I told her that I hadn't had trouble with peeling gel before. Then I noticed (too late) that before she polished my nails, she didn't spray/wipe my nails with alcohol nor did she use the gel primer. After about three days they did start to peel. Getting a manicure a few times a year is one of the only nice things I do for myself. I don't like feeling cheated or that someone did a half-assed job because I didn't opt for the more expensive service. I will probably never go back to this nail salon. read more

I drive 45 minutes to go to this salon because I ALWAYS get a beautiful mani/pedi from Cindy. I have been coming here for a few years and the new management has made it even better with wonderful changes to the decor, basin liners for pedicures, new colors, etc. and they are planning even more upgrades. I used to go to Smiley Nails for years, but when my nail tech left, i didnt care for the others and went somewhere else. Well, my friend suggested Smiley Nails and I thought I would give them another chance as they are close by. BIG mistake. There were only 3 techs there, one was the owner. He did my pedicure and manicure. Both were completed in 30 minutes!! What a rush job! Barely any massage! I had forgotten my glasses and couldnt see the results until I got home. Ugh. I had paint on my cuticles and lopsided nails. My 3yo grand daughter could have done better! My cuticles were chopped at and had hanging bits of skin. It has only been 2 days and my polish is chipped and looks worn off! My polish usually lasts about 6-8 days! Save your money. read more

This place gone downhill, I used to have fantastic nails but my last visit 6/13/19 when it was time for my mani the lady nearly screamed 'pay now' before even getting my nails painted. My nails are smeared as soon as I got into my car and a mess by the cuticles. Will not be returning. read more

Not happy with this place. I live in Tucson and was in the Phoenix area visiting my parents when one of my acrylics fell off, and I was about due for a fill so went in with my Mom for a fill and gel color change. Had an appointment. There were two people waiting. The woman who did my fill rushed through the entire process. When I asked her to slow down, or take the gel off my cuticles, she acted put off. Barely touched them up and continued on. There was absolutely no attention to detail, speed was the only thing that appeared to matter to this tech as I asked her several times to slow down and apply the gel in a more uniform manner and avoid my skin. The clear coat has bubbles in it. Unfortunately I just wasted an hour of my time, and more than $40. There's no way I will allow my nails to look like this for two weeks until it's time for another fill so I am going to have to pay an additional cost at my normal salon to ensure clean and uniform application. Now I know not to change to a new salon when I'm used to the one that I love. I will not be returning here, and suggest you don't either if you want someone to take their time with you. read more

Not a bad place for a spontaneous pedicure. It was the middle of the afternoon when I dropped in and the place was devoid of customers. The place looked clean and my nail technician seemed pleasant enough. My major gripe with the staff, though, is the fact they do not speak English very well. (Nor do they contribute to an overall spa-like, calming environment with their smartphones dinging every minute. Literally.). Now, before you all get ready to jump down my throat, let me state a few things: 1) I am Asian, 2) I am an Asian who lives in a predominantly English speaking country, and 3) I speak English well (I do still get asked "where are you FROM?" after random strangers hear my impeccable English language skills). My nail tech hardly spoke any English. She tried to ask me a few things and I simply could not understand her due to her thick accent. From the context, I believed she wanted to know if I wanted a foot and leg massage for an extra $5. I got tired of asking her to repeat herself, so I just said "sure." Turned out that my context clues helped me to gauge her words correctly. My total cost was $25 before tip (basic pedicure is $20). My toes look pretty and I think the pedicure will last for a long time, given my nail tech's focused attention during the session. For my first visit, I'll award 3*. I visited with my best friend for a pedi. She had Kim and I had Cindy. Both were terrific. Two of the best pedis we've had, and we've had MANY. The sugar scrub they use is very effective and the citrus scent is a nice change from the typical cherry scented lotion used by most nail salons. I want to mention that Cindy is quite the artist. She painted our big toes for the holidays - a snowman and a snowflake. It looks great from a distance and when you look very closely, the detail she put into it is amazing. I love it when a person puts that kind of effort into their work. 5 stars for the whole experience. We will definitely be returning to this salon on our next visit to Phoenix. read more

I don't get my nails done a lot. Can't remember the last time I had a manicure. I had a holiday party and realized that I really needed one. Smiley Nails was empty and able to take me right away- I was the only customer. It was the person that did the manicure that I have an issue with. I did not get her name, I don't know if she told me, and don't remember seeing any tag or sign at her station. She demonstrated the ability to speak English well enough to find out what I wanted but did not speak for the rest of the visit. I don't mind people who are quiet, but she kept making comments over her shoulder to her coworkers in their native language- that is just rude. Also, I had a nasty papercut on my thumb that had just scabbed and stopped hurting. Despite me telling her twice that it was a scab and not dirt, she scraped it off- ouch. I've seen some reviews that were positive but it looks as if it is a specific employee who is getting them. If I had known that, I would have asked for them. I will not be going back. I actually do plan on continuing to get manicures- my nails really did look better, just not there. read more

Becca is awesome! A few of the folks there aren't the most outgoing and before I started going to Becca regularly I wasn't thrilled with the mani-padi, but Becca fixed all of that. I love the girls there. I get my eyebrows done every two weeks and I get my nails done there as often as I can. Recently, I just did the gel nails (just the gel polish not like the fake nail stuff) and I LOVE it. I can't tell you how happy I am that I did it. I always just did my toes because I'd always manage to goof up my fingernails in the first hour after I get them done- but with gels, you can't do that because after they're put under the UV Light, they dry immediately. No goof ups! Plus, they don't chip. The lady said they'd last around two weeks. I'm so happy with them. It's been a week and they still look pretty good. :) read more

First let me say, they are all very friendly and welcoming. However, I still had a painful experience. I went in for a full set and asked for coffin shape and showed a picture for reference in addition to old Acrylics I had taken off. They were old, but the shape was exactly what I asked for. They said they could do it and that was not true. It was more so the shape of a double coffin. The 1st pic is their work, and the "After" pic was the other shop that fixed their work after I had already paid $60 for this. As you can see, the polish job is horrible and they hurt all my cuticles with the drill. The nails had lumps and dips because the product wasn't applied evenly. I really wish shops and nail techs would start being honest and just admitting that they cannot do something. This took a huge chunk of my day just to have to go somewhere else and have it fixed. They tried to make it seem like it was my fault that their work was trash. I asked to file the nails more because in no way is this coffin shape. Needless to say, I will not be back, ever! Kim is wonderful! I was attending a formal event and was indecisive as to what I wanted. She was patient and guided me into what I needed for a manicure and pedicure. Went with my mom, she got a pedicure and I got a manicure. Manicure is $12 and pedicure is $20 that is $32. We were charged $45 I asked why and was told because of my moms pedicure they had to scrub. Scrub what and isn't that part of a pedicure. Not going back!! read more

Unethical practices. They told my friend that the total was $25, ran her card for it. Then canceled it mid transaction and charged her $30 without telling her and when my friend looked at the receipt they had overcharged her on purpose. Shady practices and they are not to be trusted. Also the pedicure was the worst I have ever got. Literally a 3 minute massage and no hot stones. My pedicure lasted 20 minutes. So disappointed! Went in today for a fill and wish I hadn't. Kim is usually so on point, not sure what happened today. Nails are uneven, and you can see through the nail polish color and because the real nail was not filed you can see through to it. The dark polish I had on previously was not completely removed and you can see pieces of it. My cuticles were not cut. The fill does not seem like it was done by a professional. I don't think I will be going back. I have been an occasional long time customer but I feel that should not factor the quality of work I receive. Very disappointed:( read more

Worst manicure of my life! I have been in a few times for pedicures that were so-so, which Is why I gave 2 stars - they're meh but not awful on feet. Today however, I needed my gel manicure swapped out. The tech put non-gel color on, and when the owners noticed they insisted on removing all the polish and putting on the (more expensive) gel that I had originally ordered. Problem was that they slapped the gel on so quickly that my nails look terrible. The edges are all thick, the coating isn't even so some areas are really bumpy, my cuticles and skin are stained with the regular dark polish, etc. For $25 you'd expect a manicure that doesn't look like you did it yourself while drunk. I wish they'd taken it off and I'd left with bare nails. read more
