The girl did a horrible job I had her remove the polish it was so sloppy and see through. I wanted to just leave as she obviously didn't have good eye sight. She then told me I was wrong for twenty minutes rather than politely fixing them. I looked at my feet today & said "dang I need a MAN PEDI ASAP". It just so happen that NuTrends Nails & Spa is right next to the hotel I checked in at. So I went & they gave me an appointment for 3 PM because they were busy & they were practicing social distancing. 3 PM & I returned for my appointment. As I get looks because I'm a man that's walking in to get a pedi without a girl in tow...I bravely sat on the chair and showed my dawgs.....lol. The lady made sure that I was comfy & the water had the perfect temp. I chose the $50 pedi because I wanted the full treatment & they didn't disappoint! The lady manicurist was really good. I didn't feel any pain as she surgically removed whatever those things are called on my feet. She scraped & grinded my feet without skipping a beat. Went here a week before leaving for Cancun. Service was good, and everyone was kind. I did get a pedicure and it wasn't the best I've ever gotten, the lady clipped my toe and i was bleeding a bit, but that wasn't a big issue for me and i didn't say anything. The main concern is my full set I received. The day I was leaving, which was a week after going to the salon, my ring nail popped off my right hand and I had to super glue it back on. During the trip, all of my nails on the right side came off, and two on my left, less than two weeks after getting my nails done. I understand normal wear and tear, but a set is supposed to last at minimum 2 weeks. Really disappointed, as I really liked this set and was really excited about how they looked. Edit: I'm actually incredibly offended by the response this company provided, which is why I'm lowering my review to one star. I have never had my nails last less than a week prior to coming to this salon. That's with years between appointments. Just acknowledge something didn't go right and own the responsibility that the nails weren't ok? Don't blame it on me? I called last minute for a same day appointment (within a 20 minute timeframe) and I was able to get in since someone had canceled/ not show up. I told her what I wanted. Natural looking oval shaped acrylics. I will give this salon credit they have a lot of deep neutral gel colors to match my skin tone. But besides that the whole experience was uncomfortable. The young lady jennie immediately, began placing the nails on my hands like she was in a some sort of rush. And actually placed a few of them on crooked. Which I get the sense of urgency, but it made me feel very unsettled. Like I understand we all need the money but if you wanted my money than I at least expected decent quality, if you may have other appointments then it's in both of our best interest to schedule me at a time that fits both schedules accordingly. During my time sitting in jennie's chair, the business phone kept ringing like every 5-10 mins. And she would answer, and honestly I think that's what made her so flustered while doing my nails. I couldn't hear the caller but it seems although the people calling kept canceling their appointments. One right after another, she would ask if they'd want to reschedule and it didn't seem like that made plans to. And that right there should have been my que to be like 'ok, I'ma head out'. But I stayed and I wish I had gone with that instinct. The nails were too long! Every time I'd say I wanted the nails shorter jennie micro aggressively clipped just a little more off and forcefully flipped my hand back around towards me to judge if that's the length she wanted me to have. Making it seem like it was upsetting her to even have short acrylics. Long nails aren't my thing. But that's not any of her concern when the money is coming out of my wallet. I wasn't digging that aggressive energy either. She didn't have to say it, anger and aggression was all over her non verbals. About an hour after I left this salon I was calling around to other salons to get those long ass nails filed down. I don't have any pics because after I left here I was running errands. And quite frankly I was ashamed. I didn't feel enough pride to want to show off those nails. I will not be returning, regardless of last minute availability or polish color variety P.S. The friendliness is still kind of there but the quality has definitely suffered. My wife's mani-pedi was poorly done and chipping after a day or two. First time I went here it was great! This time not so much. I asked the girl to make them shorter and they are way shorter than they should be. They are not filed down on the top and are very wide in width. They look stubby and too small for paying $65 the French tips are uneven. My art is good though, I am just upset I planned on having these for Christmas, new years and my one year anniversary and I hate them. I also just called the next day, it's $25 to fix them. I understand the work is a profit. And I don't want a new set just a color fix and reshaping. But i already paid a good amount and it doesn't seem right that they want to charge a significantly higher amount to fix something that upsets me. I denied a luxury pedicure after being informed that gel was a $15 upcharge. Excuse me? What? With the upcharge, that's $50 plus the expected tip. I dont mind paying for quality service, but if it's my first time trying your establishment, I'm not paying top dollar for services I am unfamiliar with. It's not a bad pedi. But after I said I wanted basic. That's what I got and then some. Barely any pumice scrub, no pressure massage...honestly it was awkward at a certain point. I sat and one of the technicians asked me to pick my color and sign in on their iPad. I was seated around 5 to soak my nails and my manicure began 10 minutes later, and it was done by 530. The whole thing felt rushed, there were only two employees and a few people walked in after me so they were going back and forth between clients. My manicure was okay, can tell it's chipping already and the square shape is uneven. My manicurist did thank me several times for waiting and shared that they were understaffed. Brand new salon that is super clean and looks very bright and welcoming. The staff are really friendly! Jimmy did my nails and really took the time to make sure everything was done right. I had old dip taken off and a new color put on. I would have gotten my brows waxed too, but apparently the lady who does waxing was not in today. There were only 4 staff members when I came in, but things moved pretty quickly considering. I went in yesterday around 3pm after running some errands. Immediately I was greeted with a smile and with a cold bottle of water. I did not have to wait and got a gel mani and a regular pedi. I was very happy with the results although I think the price of the pedicure is a bit high. Service was great, the owner was very kind and he definitely cares about his clients. There's even a 3 day guarantee for your nails, so if something happens to your manicure in those 3 days they will fix it for you. Overall, the salon is new and clean. The woman who did my nails was nice enough but she seemed extremely rushed. When I called more than a week ahead to schedule my appointment she flopped around between times before assuring me that 10am would be fine, I was a little skeptical since she seemed unsure of it over the phone but I ignored that and told myself she knew what she was doing. When I got there I signed in and started explaining what I wanted, longer nude nails with a single rhinestone on each finger. When she said 65$ I understood the price but after paying it and truly looking at my nails I was upset. My cuticles were choppy and undone, there is slivers of nail poking out from the side of my acrylics and on a lot of my nails the product wasn't pushed back enough witch makes it look like they've been growing out for a couple weeks- but only some of my nails. Overall I did get the nails I wanted but I was very rushed and left with rushed looking nails. One of the rhinestones ended up crooked as well. I got these nails done for prom and I was really upset that they looked so rushed and neglected. She also talked in a different language to the person beside her the whole time instead of talking with me or just sitting quietly which I wasn't too upset about except that sinking feeling that they were talking about me and the other girl. When I arrived for my appointment(Wednesday), I was a little shocked to see only 2 people working but I figured aime one was on break and would assist me shortly. The woman who greeted me asked me to sign in and that was it . After sitting there 20 minutes after my appointment time, I realized no one else would be coming to assist and they were the only 2 technicians there. It had been very clear that both clients had just been started when I walked in , mind you I was maybe only 5 minutes early. So I was a little annoyed that they wouldn't schedule better, I shouldn't have to wait 30+ mins from my appointment time. However, once the owner started my nails he was kind so I let go of the fact that he was starting my nails late. He rushed through my set as a girl walked in for an appointment with him. I wasn't happy with the work however, it was my first time and I was trying not to be "that girl". I wanted them fixed but it was clear he was in a rush & another client was waiting . Fast forward to Friday, two days later, my acrylics started lifting& chipping. It had looked like I haven't had my nails done in weeks when In fact it had only been days. I was out of town so I couldn't get them fixed. Immediately upon my return I contacted them to get the nails fixed and was not called back the following Wednesday. They had me drive all the way there for assistance, just to tell me they would be charging an additional $30. It has only been a week! He explained they had a 3 day policy, which personally I believe is absurd. However, that aside, I was physically in another state within the 3 days so I couldn't come in. I am probably the most picky person when it comes to getting my nails done and since I recently moved back to AZ I needed to find a new salon to call home which usually takes like 5-7 salons to find the right one luckily this gem is 5 mins from my house! Tried this place on a visit to Phoenix. I was referred by a family member that this place had great customer service and was squeaky clean. I made an appointment but when I arrived they were running 30 min behind =(, the staff was apologetic and my service was completed promptly. The place is spotless and my pedi was great! Whether you want a gel manicure, SNS dipping powder or anything else, they have so many colors and options that you are sure to find something you like. They are really up to date with nail trends so you'll find something new every time. Their prices are also very reasonable. For a gel manicure, it's $28. If anything happens to your manicure within 3 days, you can come back and they will fix it free of charge. The owners here, Jennie and Kevin, really care about customer service and they are more picky about their work than I am. Where can I begin? I love this salon and I truly miss it. I've recently moved and I am on a mission to find a similar nail salon, unfortunately that still has yet to happen. This salon is best if you make an appointment. There are only two techs, Jenny and Kevin. I'm sure they take walk-ins only if they have an opening, but they truly honor your appointment. I feel like nail salons have gone wild with their pricing, but I'll say the prices are fairly just for the work done here. I feel many salons try to work quickly and herd you out. I like that they take their time in providing good service. I'm a fairly simple girl, I like a good, long-lasting dip manicure. Every time I've gotten one, I have been able to keep it up to a month. It will lose it's luster and grow out, but it will not break or chip. I like that with the SNS they will clean up around my cuticles. I can't remember if its included in the price or if its extra. I've noticed that many salons typically keep the nails dry with a dip mani and use the drill to "clean up," which is not the same in my opinion. I work with my hands, so these nails are put to the test. I also really enjoy the pedicures, I've only gotten a basic gel pedi and they have lasted quite a while. I do like that you get a nice little percentage off on your birthday and that they do a punch card system. I do believe its a punch per visit, and not service so do with that what you will. I also feel like they are just as attentive to their new customers as they are with their regulars. I've hated feeling like a bystander at salons where the favoritism toward their regulars is very loud. Personally, I enjoy the quietness to the salon. It won't be crowded because of how they take appointments, mostly. I do not enjoy a very busy, or loud salon as it can be very overwhelming for me. read more
