This place is a hidden gem. I've been going here for 10 years. I enjoy the peaceful environment. I'm always greeted with a smile. The nail techs are good at their craft and pay attention to detail. Tracy and Annie are my favs but I love them all. I've lived all over the valley. Regardless of the distance I go here. Anytime I've tried somewhere else out of "convenience", I'm disappointed. I appreciate how they prioritize appointments over walk-ins. They're transparent about the wait times and if they have availability. I'd take the negative reviews with a grain of salt especially if they were walk-ins. No business is perfect. Be upfront about what you want done and how much time you have. I have been coming here for eyebrows waxing and pedis since 2016. I came in this morning for an eyebrow wax and specially asked for a clean up. The OWNER out of all people did my eyebrows which is expected to be in good hands and she butchered it. I was not happy and showed her that it was uneven and she took too much hair. I am really torn writing this review. I really enjoy this salon, it is clean, the owner is very friendly, great customer service, and I like their updated check in system. However, the past 2 times I've come in, the tech has not done a good job. I got a gel French manicure, and I had to repeatedly tell her she was putting on too many coates and not to do that because it would peel up. This is the second time she has done my nails and I had the same issue. Sure enough, my nails started to pull up not even 48 hours after my manicure. It's really frustrating. Go to Steven for a gel manicure. He is insanely meticulous. He shapes and files every nail perfectly and he is friendly. This is the only place I will get my nails done and only by him for about the last 10 years. I have never had a good experience with a pedicure here. The older woman in particular is horrible. She hacks your nail off with no regard for the shape, does two swipes with the file, uses the heel scraper on unreasonable parts of your feel like the soft skin on your big toe bone (scraping me and causing me to bleed slightly) with absolutely no care in the world. She slaps on some lotion (it is not a "massage" as listed, she just hastily rubs on some lotion), slaps on polish and calls it good. Both of my big toes were cut at a comical 45 degree angle, as were other nails, my foot was injured and she could not care less. She definitely does not want to be there and does not care how you feel about your pedicure. $30 + tip wasted, not to mention the amount of time. I'm done trying pedicurists here but I'll come back for Steven's manicure for my once per year summer mani. Also, their equipment, chairs, foot bowls, etc are looking very worse for wear at this point. Makes you wonder how sanitary things are... read more

I'm sad to have to write this review. I'm sure this would of been a great place to go to for a pedicure but definitely not a manicure. I walked in and got seated immediately. I asked for a soak off and the nail tech ignored me and grabbed her nail filer instead. I asked for a soak off again and she said she's going to file it down first. I have never had that response before but figured every place can do it different so I brushed it off. Well, the first finger she attempted to file down was a complete fail, she made an indent on the middle of my finger nail with her blade. She just laughed. No apologies. I was so concerned and in that moment I wanted to get up. The friendly nail tech beside her apologized and made me feel at ease. While my nail tech walked away without explanation. Moving forward, My nail tech came back and sat down and just stared at me. I asked for a soak off again but instead she got up, greeted another customer at the door and sat her down in a pedicure chair. I would of been fine with that if my nail tech didn't start doing the other girls service!! I was so confused!! I was in the area on weekend and in need of pedi, they just happened to be available and am glad I came. They lined with plastics before pouring nice and hot water. Sanitary. Water was actually nice and hot. Felt a bit hot initially but soon I started enjoying this hot water. He took time to scrub and massage my legs and feet. Stone massage felt really good. What a great first experience! The visuals and ambiance were nice, with some relaxing background music and not too loud but not too soft. Others were talking and I wasn't drawn into their conversations. My tech was Tracy She listened to my concerns as I'm very picky about my toenails and how they are cut. I stopped in while on a work trip. Made an appt for a pedicure, and took a look at the menu options. First of all. Overpriced. I'm from OC, Ca, land of expensive and overpriced. And THIS is overpriced. I absolutely felt "nickel and dimed". Basic pedicure $28, callus add on $10. Remove gel $5, gel paint $15....ok so now it's a $60 pedicure. So I opted for a package pedicure because the girl who sat me down told me it included the callus remover. Cheapest one was $40....still have to add $20 to remove and polish on gel.... Finally my nail tech sits me down, I opt for the $50 package and I'll just do regular polish....oh but wait still have to pay the $5 to remove my gel..:: fine whatever.....as she's starting my pedicure she asks if I want callus remover. I said yes that's why I chose the package. She tells me it's not included, it's $10 extra. WTF?! Now it's a $60 pedicure and still no gel? Ridiculous. But she decides to strike a deal with me and cut my massage time down 5 minutes and "throws in" the callus remover. At this point I say screw it, might as well pay the extra $15 and get gel rather than regular polish. If you're spending $55 on a pedi what's an extra $15 at this point, right? The process itself was fine, until the end...she used those nippers and dug so deep into my big toe on the side of the nail I bled pretty aggressively for about 45 min. I had an event to go to, it kept bleeding; It was a mess. Today it's pretty sore and red/inflamed. The nail tech's attitude was pretty dry. Not super friendly. When I brought to her attention the girl at the front said the callus remover was included in the package didn't acknowledge that a mistake in communication was made, it was more like "well it's not and these are the rules". I was thankful that she threw it in but had to cut my massage time down. Back to dry and unfriendly the rest of the appt. Unapologetic for cutting me - though she did send me with a piece of cotton to clean the blood up. OH! And I heard another tech tell someone the callus remover was $7, not $10. Overall not a good experience. I pay $42 for EVERYTHING at home. After tip I spent $80 on a single pedicure I walked out bleeding profusely from. UPDATE: the owner replied to my review and was very kind. I definitely appreciate it. The one technician is not a reflection of their business as a whole and that's good to know. Went with girlfriend to get her nails done and tech was unable to do the requested design. A refund was then offered to have them removed so we could leave as she was having a panic attack at this point. However, the refund was suddenly off the table and a $50 charge imposed. The tech kept saying it would be that or more for them to remove them now, so my girlfriend removed them herself in the salon. Tech got the owner on the phone, only for him to escalate the situation more as he responded in a manner that frankly was shocking, with an utter lack of customer service which was jarring. To top this off he doubled down on his inappropriate attitude when responding to her review, by calling her a "cry baby" among other things. We just wanted to pay and leave but they made it way worse and derailed the day for us unnecessarily. Shocked and disappointed. We ended up paying $25 for the wasted time, being yelled at, and having my girlfriend experience a panic attack in an environment which should have been relaxing, with the caveat that we don't return. I have waited ALL my life to find a cosmetologist who gives a hoot about what she is doing; who doesn't work as fast as possible, and just "goes thru the motions". BINGO. Solid GOLD. That's what Jackie is to me - and after months of trying to find someone for regular old mani-pedi work (they all want gel or acrylic work it seems). Most places will slam your mani-pedi (both) in one hour-or less! My pedi took a little over an hour, and she figured out a problem I thought was an ingrown toe nail, and the other salons said "yes, yes, will cut". That wasn't the issue. She solved all the pain in 10 minutes. After 90 minutes I walked out with beautiful SMOOTH nails (what? I don't have to smooth the snags left?) and a pampered, happy feeling. I originally started coming here because it was next to my office. I live in Scottsdale so it was never convenient otherwise. A few months ago I got a new job closer to home, so I've stopped spending any time in Ahwatukee aside from AZ Tips and Toes. It is worth the 30-minute drive, I promise! Larry and Kate have done a fantastic job with the salon. It looks and feels upscale but the prices are very reasonable. From the moment you walk in, you will be treated like a valued client. Even after one visit, they will remember your name, how you like your nails, and whatever details of your life you shared with them last time. The staff are friendly and talented at what they do. "My girl" is Dana (Vietnamese name Luon), and I am always happy with her work. The pedicure menu ranges from classic to fancy, but even the most basic option is luxurious. They do hot stone massages with every pedicure, along with a long leg massage. The massage chairs are new and comfortable, although I wish the timer was longer than 15 minutes. Some of the reasons why I continue to come here even though it's a 30-minute drive from my house.... Free water upon arrival and at your request, stamp card!!!, hooks to hang your purse at each station, and it doesn't stink like acetone. I've brought a few friends here, my dad, and even my boyfriend's mom! As I expected, everyone I've brought here has been impressed and happy with their manis and pedis. A coworker's gel mani/ pediI was acknowledge but all three began to discuss who would help me and made statements that we dont tip when they are done and that we are nasty. I ignored the ignorance and would not give them the satification. I'm not going to say for certain but I will assume they meant black/ or ethnic people. FIRST I WILL SAY THIS ! I OVERPAID FOR THE PEDICURE $28.00 , and I left a tip hey but that's just who I am ! IM A giver and generous to a fault . I'm also very clean hygenically I actually suffer OCD yes I'm that type of clean. I'M not only a business owner but a licensed hairstylist now for 18 years and I understand when you feel you have worked hard and given your best .... but its another to be negative, unprofessional, dogmatic ,in the presence of your clients or customers . I 'm also in ministry I encounter people of different race, background , creed and lifestyles . Although certain behaviors I disagree I so not display or spew venom just because were unique .
