I got my haircut here about 3 weeks ago and it was wonderful. I have been here before but it's been years -- when they were previously in a different space next door. I believe the gal who did my hair was named Bella. She is a lovely young lady with curly hair and the sweetest personality. She listened to what I wanted and did it very well! I chopped a lot of length off and she styled it so nicely after. I'll be going to her again next time. She is talented at her craft and very sweet to top it all off. I explained to the stylist, Allison, that I did not want my hair cut very short around my cowlick. She cut it very short; hence my hair sticks up in that area. I explained that I just needed a tidy up around my ears. She cut that area so short, you can almost see my scalp. She didn't blend the other parts of my hair so around the upper sides of my hair it looks like an unattractive blunt cut with no blend into the rest of my hair. So, I left the salon with more than an inch cut extremely short and the upper top and side looking like a mop head. I am very disappointed. A wasted $75. Also, your site shows Allison as a level 1 stylist and states a level 1 is $55 for a cut, not the $65 that I was charged. The $75 was with tip included. I am a senior citizen which means that I have had a multitude of haircuts. I believe my current cut is the worst I have ever had. read more

Frank has been my hair stylist for over 3 years. He has done a fantastic job of keeping it healthy and making it look great month after month. When I first went to Frank, I had pretty badly damaged hair from a previous visit to a new hair stylist. He fixed the color overtime helped it to regain moisture after being very dry and brittle. At one point I had a patch of hair missing, which could've been due to an illness or stress, but he immediately noticed it and gave me tips for how to help it regrow and gave me good health recommendations in general. Frank does wonderful job of giving my hair highlights, lowlights, with a natural look. He gives it dimension with color and layers that is a beautiful look and I get compliments on frequently. More than all of this great work that Frank has done for my hair, he has become a friend of mine who I know truly cares about me and my family. Outside of styling hair, Frank has served our country, volunteers to help his children and their school, coaches sports and is a standup human being. One of my favorite things to do when I get my hair done by Frank has talk to him about the latest health trend he has found or that I have found. I look forward to my visits to the salon. I went to a mid-level stylist, showed her a couple of pictures of what I was looking for. It was a long evenly layered lob. I got a shag but the top layer was cut straight and shorter in the back so I look like I have a mushroom top and the bottom is just straight. I absolutely hate it, it's going to take forever to grow out. This was the 3rd stylist I've tried out. This was the worse haircut. Unfortunately I will need to find another salon. They are nice and the salon is pretty but I have not been able to find someone that can give me a haircut that I'm happy with. read more

Sasha Nicole has changed my life! Before my appointment I was carving out a good 15-20 minutes of my day every time I showered for detangling, crying and regretting. It makes me so sad to give this place 2 stars. I really wanted to love it here. I tried 3 times. The salon is lovely and the staff are friendly. That I can't complain about. I went in for a cut, first time in the salon. The cut was just ok. After trying to live with it for a few days. I called and told them I just didn't feel comfortable and they agreed to have me back in to fix it. I had a different girl fix it cause I was uncomfortable with explaining to the first where I was unhappy. On visit #2. Back after a few months I tried the same girl who fixed my hair. A well yet again not happy. Cut was way off. Again I returned to have it fixed. She was super kind and accommodating. I have natrual blonde hair and it can be a bit of challenge to cut. Visit 3# another girl, because the one I requested was not available. I just wanted to clean up the cut I have. Also, I know that I was clear that I don't like my hair styled bone straight...and I left the salon three times with bone straight hair. It's very unsatisfying. Went in for my first visit with Frank and am simply delighted with my cut and color! He is a true artist and clearly a technically experienced hair stylist. I was in the market for new hair products and loved when he used in my hair so I purchased some items to take home as well. Also props to the front desk attendant who made my appointment. I explained the type of stylist I was looking for (very experienced with curly hair) and she recommended Frank. She was also considerate enough to let me know that he was one of their more experienced and therefore more expensive stylists. No stars if was possible. I called this place to make an appointment for a haircut and asked to be seen by Saskia. The receptionist thought I was an existing client so she booked me to see her in 2 weeks. When I asked if possible to do my hair color at the same time. The receptionist was like " oh you're new client ?" for new clients she could she you on April and I was calling first week of February, Then I said I would prefer to get it done all the same time and didn't you just said she could she me Feb 21 if I was existing client, To make the story short I was booked on the 21and she even asked for cc # to book appointment. 3 days before the appointment I got a txt to confirm and reminding me "24 hours of cancellation " Then the day of appointment it self they call me 2 1/2 hours before the appointment to cancel. Take note with no offer to rebook with the same person I wanted to see.She mentioned a different stylist. Since you are new client and Saskia is not feeling well see this other person. I'm surprised normal stylist if they have an emergency like that they know when they will be free and would let you know before they call and cancel when they can see you. But not this place. The receptionist was like I have to check with Saskia when she can see you. Wow very professional ! Don't bother wasting your time trying to come here. So they never called back to let me know anything. Then after 21 days of posting this review Saskia personally called upset. Saying she almost got a heart attack that's why she canceled, I understand that people have emergencies. It's just how her staff handled it. Maybe you train them better with customer service. The salon I've been going to for the past 15 years shut it doors abruptly with no notice so I was left to search for a new stylist. Now any woman knows that this is a daunting and somewhat terrifying task. Particularly when you have super dark "ethnic" hair. So, I've tried a few places in the Tukee...all disasters. I was at the point where I needed to accept that I would need to drive to North Scottsdale and pay a fortune and suffer through a snobby environment to get my hair done. Thankfully, I decided to give Saskia a try. My first visit I was greeted warmly, offered a drink, and a free gift for being a first time customer. Nothing pretentious about this salon. It's beautiful. I didn't have to wait long when my stylist Michelle came up to get me. I told her about all my hair woes and she listened. I was just there for a hair cut and style because if she couldn't do a decent blow out, I was never coming back (that is the test for me - if the stylist and blow out my hair I'm good. If they pull out a flat iron, I know they have no skills and I won't come back). Long story short, she fixed the hack job of a haircut I got at the other Tukee salon and my blow out was beautiful! Probably the first time I felt good about my hair in over a year. So I happily booked a balayage color next time with Michelle. 2nd visit for my color. Same great customer service throughout my visit. I was offered and drink and reading material and I felt like they really cared that I was comfortable and having a good experience. Now salons throw around the term balayage but most of the time you end up with regular highlights. Not so with Michelle. My balayage is beautiful. Subtle and will require low maintenance and my hair isn't orange. I'm really happy with the result. She knows what she's doing. Also, they are not pushy with selling product like most other places. She tells me what she used in my hair but I never have felt that awkward pressure to buy stuff. After these 2 experiences, this salon has earned my business and I will definitely be coming back and recommending Michelle. read more

My hairdresser Jessica was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about hair. Very nice. But the receptionist Carol. Nope. When I called, she was rude. When asked me if it was thick or blonde. I didn't say a word for I don't know how long. Then she asked if it was very curly. I guess my accent told her I was either black or Latin. Ok. Not following my instinct I went to the appt. As I suspected She was rude. I am with my child therefore I am going behave. Jessica told her to apply the 20%, she didn't. I had my hair cut by Evelyn today. I have fine, curly hair and generally keep it pretty basic but wanted a little bit of a change. Evelyn was able to create a new look for me, which is full and easy to maintain. She knows her curly hair and gave great product knowledge. I used to go to this Salon about two years ago, and loved when Blair did my hair. I moved away and now moved back and decided to go. I am extremely disappointed to say the least and will not be returning. When I was there previously I had hair half way down my back. I ALWAYS got a two color FULL highlight, glaze, and hair cut and always paid around $140-$160 including the tip, I now have hair just at my shoulders so I never thought twice to ask the prices because I knew it would have to be cheaper then that. I went the other day and saw a NEW stylist Jessica, so my assumption that the prices would even be lower for an inexperienced person. At least that is the way it used to be. Initially when I sat down, she didn't seem very confident and even though I asked for two colors, highlight and low light she talked me into just highlight. This was fine because I was already nervous about her confidence level. Then as she started she was doing a partial. I asked her why and she stated that's what they had be down for. Mind you I have never scheduled myself for a partial highlight so I was a little upset about this. When I explained that I was there for a full, she said well we will have to do it next time. Never even offered to do a full even though that is what I wanted. Anyways, we proceeded with the appointment and when it came to washing I asked do you guys still use the glaze when you do blonde? Jessica said yes we do, but never once mentioned that it cost more. By the time it was all said and done and I went to pay she quoted me $140!!!!!! I said how in the world is it $140 when I have half the amount of hair and you only did a partial not a full highlight? I have never paid this amount for hair this length and a partial highlight. She reviewed my account and said I was correct but that it was because the girls that used to work there that all left at one time weren't charging correctly. She proceeded to tell me that they have been experiencing this with previous clients coming back, they get upset about the pricing. Let me ask you, if you KNOW you have a return client and you KNOW that pricing has been an issue why wouldn't you let your clients know in advance? I never had to pay $30 for the glaze! Then my haircut was not even a hair cut it was a trim that took about 5 minutes. They told me they would have the owner call me, but it has been a week and still no call. I can not believe that I had to pay $140 for a PARTIAL highlight with shoulder length hair. This is absolutely crazy, especially for a new stylist that lacked confidence, and took over three hours for a PARTIAL highlight. To top it off my roots are still showing as if I have had my hair done for weeks already, half of my blonde is yellow/gold which I specifically stated I didn't want to happen, and I sat there for over three hours for this. Maybe there is a reason that the group of girls that were there before with happy clients all left Saskia Salon at the same time. So disappointed and will not be back. read more
