I had my hair cut by Evelyn today. I have fine, curly hair and generally keep it pretty basic but wanted a little bit of a change. Evelyn was able to create a new look for me, which is full and easy to maintain. She knows her curly hair and gave great product knowledge. This is by far the worst haircut I've ever had. I should've listened to the negative reviews because those were so accurate. I showed the picture I wanted, and it looks nothing like it. She cut my bangs way too short and they look terrible. One side of my hair is longer than other, my bangs stick right and I had to tell her to stop cutting cause she was trying to fix her mistake. I left the salon in tears. Do yourself a favor and do more research than yelp reviews. I am not sure how this place has good reviews. read more

Good prices, good customer service, very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Everyone is friendly and professional. This place is modern and a little hard to see from the street, but worth giving a try. I came here to get balayage from Taylor and she did a great job. No pressure to come back right away or do crazy things, but good recommendations and great work. Okay, love! this salon is so cute. while it's a little expensive, it's definitely worth while. I came in wanting a reddish purple brown hair.. kind of all over the place. Taylor had great advice and found the perfect color for me right away. The only disappointing thing is that i spent around 200 dollars and about 60 of it was on color care products so my hair wouldn't fade so fast and it's been about 2 weeks and my hair is pretty much just flat brown, but that's no ones fault, it's just the unfortunate part of doing purples and reds in your hair. Definitely would recommend this place. it's classy and you definitely get treated like you matter as the client and more than just money. read more

I have been a customer since opening day and love my hair cut. It's a higher end salon but I get what I pay for here. All the girls are highly trained, beyond the standard cosmetology license, so they know how to style hair for your face and skin color (using dye) so you look great. this place and they treat you like a princess here! I've been to a number of salons over the recent years on account of moving, and not being satisfied with the service performed. Luckily someone at work referred me to Natalie at Saskia Salon and I could not be more pleased! Natalie is the sweetest stylist, and does an amazing job. Michelle spent five or 10 minutes with me just discussing my day today styling requirements and getting a good idea of what I would still need after a significant change. I started going to Ally several years ago after a really bad color job from another salon. I came in crying because my hair was so awful and I was leaving on a cruise in a couple days. She was able to fix the awful dye job and make my hair look amazing! I love Ally! After several years of going to see her, my hair is growing so fast now that she has gotten it healthy. Ally even did my hair for my wedding. My hair was perfect for 12 hours and was so beautiful. Her color is always perfect and exactly what I want. I show her a picture and she makes it happen. I get so many complements on my hair on a regular basis. Now I am getting hair extensions! I am so excited to have even longer hair! Her nails are amazing too! Let me just say that this post was originally removed because they didn't think this was a "firsthand experience" (again, second time). Let me assure you, what you're about to read was absolutely firsthand. I wish it wasn't. If they remove it, I'll keep re-posting. It was so horrible, I think my voice should be heard... I just want to say that I rarely review but my experience was so dreadful that I had to write about it. We will absolutely not be going back to this place. First off, let me say that my daughter's actual hairstylist was wonderful. She engaged my daughter and my other children into a conversation and made them feel welcomed. We were very happy with the haircut itself. The owner, however, was horrendous and hateful. If you're a person who's going to get your haircut and you're alone, I'm sure this place is fine. If you have kids with you? Absolutely, 100%, do not come to this salon. I get that some places are not kid friendly. When we made the appointment, we made it with our kids in tow and it was my 11 year old daughter who was getting the haircut. So, the fact that we had kids was not a secret. Had we known the way we would be treated, we absolutely would've hightailed it out of there and never looked back. We almost walked out while we were waiting, that's how bad this experience was. We were waiting in the waiting area (myself and my children; 2, 6 and 11). My 11 year old was reading the hair book to pick a style. My 2 youngest were waiting on the chairs. Were my younger children perfect statues? No, and I don't really think you can expect that unless you drug them. Were they jumping on the chairs and making a lot of noise? Absolutely not. And trust me, I would've taken them out of the salon had they been acting up. Now, to be quite honest, they were wiggling in their chairs and laughing. Not even screaming... talking and laughing. I noticed a woman poking her head out of one of the hallways several times. I thought it was strange but it didn't affect me, so I just let it be. Then she came out and took the book out of my daughter's 11 year old hands and said, "I'm sorry, my boss signed that for me". And left! My daughter is 11!! She was sitting calmly, looking at the book to see what hairstyle she wanted! This is the same child who reads constantly at home and is meticulous about her books. After awhile, that same horrendous woman again came out and told my children to stop jumping (which is SO CRAZY because they weren't!!!) and to GET OUT OF THE CHAIRS because they were ruining her walls! I know for a fact that those walls were messed up from those chairs before we even got there because I spotted the missing paint the minute I walked in. My exact thoughts were that the walls must be soft or the chairs are too hard, and she needed a chair rail. Then she had the audacity to SNEER at my children while studying her walls!! She should've studied them sooner so she could've been smart enough to put a chair rail on before it got bad! It should be said that if my children are misbehaving, I'm the type of mother to fix that immediately. My children aren't always the best, but I do not allow them to ruin property or be very disruptive. Of course, they're still children and I can't expect them to be little adults. That's why I wish I would've known the kid-fear this place would have. When I told my husband what was going on as it was happening, he told me to leave immediately. I can't believe I stayed. This review makes me sad because we enjoyed our hairstylist and the haircut itself. I just refuse to give my money to a judgmental, kid-hating jerk. read more

I was frantically calling all the salons in the area that could take me the same day and I ended up here (thank god for her clients cancellation). I had been looking for a quality hairstylist for 10 years and went to Saskia's on the recommendation of a friend. Saskia's salon was by far the biggest disappointment I've experienced so far. I was told when I first came in (in April) that my hair needed to grow in order to achieve my goals. This made sense to me and I kept returning month after month with the promise of "shape" to come. In the meantime, my complaints remained the same, "I have too much hair, my hair is 'feathering' and 'flipping' all over." During my time at Saskia's, I spent over a $1000 on services, and none of my complaints were addressed in the form of a decent haircut. In fact, I left the salon 6 months later not any happier with my hair than I was when I started there. In a single appointment at Savante Salon, Jordan listened to my complaints (too much hair and feathering), and was able to give my hair an actual style that I am absolutely thrilled with (my family and friends were super complimentary, as well). She is the stylist I've been looking for. She texturized my hair (a technique Saskia's doesn't seem to be familiar with) and agreed that it does still need to grow some. However, she demonstrated that it can grow without me looking like a shaggy dog in the process. I obviously can't speak for all of Saskia's stylists and I'm sure there is talent in there somewhere. I just moved to the Ahwatukee area and was looking for a stylist near my home. Having thick coarse hair it is sometimes difficult to find a stylist who understands this different texture. The reviews on yelp prompted me to give Saskia Salon a call. I had a brief conversation with Susan I was scheduled with Blair for a cut and style. Susan was very pleasant and did not feel rushed to schedule an apt and move on to the next call. I was originally wanting a cut, color, and highlight but due to availability I went with just a cut in order to be seen the next day. The experience with Blair was one of the best I have had with a stylist. Blair is very personable. She listened to what I wanted - a change I style that is low to medium maintenance. She provided her recommendations and away we went. During the style she provided instruction on what she was doing so I can recreate at home. First time I was ever provided that experience. Blair also told me of the product she was using. But I did not feel pressure to purchase and she even mentioned see how the product works and keeps the style before purchasing. So far so good....my straight coarse hair has maintained its soft waves. I cannot wait to go back to get the color and highlights. read more
