Slowpokes - Great latte! Beautiful coffee shop! - Bars Near Me - Houston, Texas

See all

Great coffee and food! Atmosphere is great, but sometimes it can be a little too crowded to find a (good) seat if it's peak hours. The staff are nice and professional as well. read more

A neighbour coffee shop featuring a nice wine and beer. During the days it's too Mumsy and me for me. The nights have a much different vibe. The pastries and food are excellent.the service friendly and great. I can recommend this as a first choice in Heights/ Oak Forest. read more

Completely loved this spot! The place isn't as as spacious, but the set up is great. They definitely have a lot of seating available and a nice little patio in the front. I got an Iced Salted Caramel Latte and I loved the flavor! I will love to come and try more of their menu! read more

They are the most spectacular cafe Ive ever had. I will stop at no cost, to come here. It is the best cafe Ive encountered in my enriched life. The salmon bagel is potinent and delectibale. read more

Incredibly nice and helpful employees!! The coffees here are really good and so is the food. The atmosphere is also very cute.

The food in this place is a joke, the Gargansola panini is a total joke are bill was 30.00 something two beers and two sandwiches, the sandwich is like for a kid , dry over grill , like just got RIP off. read more

Love this place, very relaxing. Staff is super nice . Everything we've tried has been delicious.

This place is awesome. I needed a place to do some work and a friend recommended Slowpokes. The staff is friendly and the coffee is so good! Love the semi private booths with outlets. read more

Came here for the good reviews. Was bot pleased. The employees were not very friendly. Everyone seemed like they didnt want to be bothered just rude. When you go to an establishment people shouldn't treat you as if you are a bother. Checking to see the status of your order shouldn't be such a hassle. Won't be dining here again. read more

This place is SO good!!! I can't wait to come back to try more. Perfect place for a delicious breakfast and coffee! (Or tea). Would most definitely recommend. A server walked past with a pizza that looked delicious. I will definitely be back for dinner and wine one night..if not tonight! read more

Slowpokes - Iced caramel macchiato & salmon bagel!! Sooo good - Bars Near Me - Houston, Texas

I am a pretty loyal Boomtown person, but WOW slowpokes is AMAZING! I love that they offer multiple sizes for lattes, and they have an assortment of alternative milks. Staff is very friendly, and attentive. To top it all off, this place is sloth themed! read more

The food is really great, and the coffee flavors are exceptional! I love the atmosphere and decor, and all the people work here are very friendly. I am not a huge fan of the coffee roast they use (that's why it's not a 5 star review), but I really love their coffee flavors and that they change them up. read more

Love the avocado toast. Could y'all put it on the ubereats menu so I can get it for delivery?

Food and drinks were great. Atmosphere was comfy. The only big downfall was how LOUD the music is. And i honestly do not think it matters how close or far you sat from these antique speakers, you are sure to find yourself looking up in annoyance of how loud they are. I do not recommend this be a good place to study (as the internet suggested). With the loud music that the staff had no control over on top of normal foot traffic. The place had too much going on. As I much rather study in a low to normal noise volume, it's hard to find a place to do that AND get coffee and snacks. Unfortunately this will be a place to cross off the list of places to study. A place to sit and chat with friends and sip some hot beverages, yes. read more

It's the perfect location near my office in a quiet neighborhood! Excellent staff and a great place to study!

Love this place! It's a little gem tucked in the neighborhood. The coffee and food are tasty and the atmosphere has a cool vibe! It's a great place to get work done or visit w a friend. read more

A hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Houston Heights. Great service and excellent coffee. Perfect for a first date, homework session, or bible study! read more

Stopped in on a sunday morning to try their coffee and tried their churro and pumpkin spice sauce. They mentioned it was the first time they had served it and it was freakin good. The combination of flavors there was outstanding. Had an almond milk hazelnut latte and my wife has a sugar free vanilla latte. Both really great - the barista knows what he's doing! read more

Slowpokes - First time serving this they said. Churro with pumpkin spice sauce. Was amazing! - Bars Near Me - Houston, Texas

I try to come here as much as possible. The exterior has gone through some changes due to management issues, but the food and customer service is still amazing. If you're stopping by for just a quick bite to eat or to grab a cup of coffee, this place is perfect. You will see lunch meetings going on or people with their laptops working. Love the art work. read more

Delicious Lox and Bagel, great atmosphere, very instagramable, and exciting latte options!

Love everything about this place. My new favorite coffee shop with great breakfast options. Cool decor and friendly staff. Can't wait to come back in the evening for drinks. They have selection of beers and wines. They have board games to play. They have a cool sitting area outside with picnic tables and then a gated grassy area with a play set for children. All in all I'm a huge fan and hope this place sticks around. read more

This place is a coffee lovers dream! They have a bunch of natural light and lots of table space for those who are looking to get some serious work done. Their coffee is some of the best in Houston, I recommend getting a hazelnut latte (with half the syrup) + almond milk. read more

I'm no interior designer so when I say this place is 'unique' its meant as a compliment...I think. For the drone wanting to spend 4 bucks on warm milk with an inane froth design, this may not fit well. If you're in to very good coffee. Made by experts, get here. read more

So glad these guys are in the neighborhood! I'm an iced vanilla latte person and think their lattes are delicious! My only complaint is I think their corn tortillas on their breakfast tacos are the most boring tortillas ever. I'd be thrilled if they started offering a flour tortilla option or a corn tortilla that was more interesting in someway. Just something that isn't so dry and rubbery, perhaps something similar to Boomtown's corn tortilla that isn't dry. The breakfast menu here is a bit limited, which may be by design, because of that I wish everything on the menu included carefully thought out ingredients. It kind of seems like the tortilla was just an afterthought. Clearly I'm really worked up about this tortilla. Even w the boring tortilla I will keep coming for the good lattes, convenient location and kind employees. read more

Slowpokes is my neighborhood go-to spot. It has a great lay-out and a very nice patio. I wish they had used the outdoor space for some live music. Their espresso beats any other coffee shop in Houston. My wife and I go hear for happy hour and get a bottle of wine and their meat and cheese tray. It is very reasonable and we enjoy it. The only reason I knocked it down a star was due to the larger community tables. People in Texas don't get community tables and think that the super large table is all their's. I have been in twice and tried to sit down at one of the community tables with other people and was given dirty looks. I wish they had more smaller tables, but other than that the staff is very friendly and it is a laid back, nice establishment. read more

Roomy coffee shop. Friendly staff. Free wifi and strong cold brew. Nice coffee shop thats not inside the 610 loop.

Tried this cozy place for the first time and I'm pleasantly surprised to know that their flatbread is Gluten Free y'all. I had the chicken pesto without the cheese and it was delicious with a green tea blend they had that day. It has a backyard romantic laid back vibe with all the string lights. I will definitely be back. read more

The environment was really relaxing and having an outside area really topped it off. I got a chicken and pesto mozzarella sandwich and it was delicious. Their drink are also really good. I'll drink that iced mocha over a Starbucks mocha frap any day. read more

The spot in greater heights/garden oaks! Craft beer, craft coffee, wine , and tasty bites!

Probably the best cup of coffee I've ever had! Great location, great people, great for quick business meetings, and the features from local bakeries are also a plus! Shop local! read more

Slowpokes - Black coffee with a "couch potato cookie" - Bars Near Me - Houston, Texas

This is a great place to finish up some work and unwind with a wonderful glass of wine and if you're feeling indulgent, a delicious cookie with a nice atmosphere, good music and friendly service. They even run some great happy hour specials and have a decent collection of beer on tap, wine, enticing coffee concoctions and even boast a selection of Italian sodas. Definitely look forward to checking them out again in the future. My only regret is not having discovered this neighborhood gem sooner. read more

My favorite is the bagel with salmon! Everything is super amazing the coffee is great!! Everything had such an amazing flavor that just blended perfectly! read more

The staff is awesome and the wine is good. I definitely recommend it! Free wifi and plenty of space. Apparently there is a delicious food truck here on the weekends but I haven't tried that yet. read more

Love love love this neighborhood coffee shop. Great for lunch or just coffee. I've had the chicken mozzarella salad a few times and it's always delicious. Coffee is fantastic and very consistent. What really sets this place apart is the service. Everyone is accommodating, genuine, and empathetic. Will definitely be frequenting this place regularly. read more

I really love this place and want you to try it. The coffee is on point, the atmosphere is unique, and the food tastes fresh.

I'm a bit sad as my 1st experience here was great. Tonight stopped in for a glass of wine & sat at the bar for about 15 minutes. Never greeted, approached, or served. They appeared busy serving the numerous children chocolate milk & pizza. Not sure what to expect if I ever come back. They weren't Slow Pokes - just not available. read more

This is hands down one of my new favorite places for coffee. The staff alone is worth a laugh but the coffee was were it was at. I loved my piping hot cafe latte and my husband raved about the hazelnut cafe latte he chose to sip on. The cafe was filled with amazing music from the 50-60s which is right up my alley! We didn't get to try anything off the menu but it looks very promising! read more

Slowpokes is one of the best coffee shops, if not the best one in Houston. The coffee is fresh and rich in flavor. Their cappuccino is one of the best I've ever tasted in this lifetime. The place is clean, laid back and spacious. I took my wife here for the first time and she immediately fell in love with the place and more importantly, the coffee. Also, they serve food, wine and beer. I have explored numerous coffee shops in Houston (not Starbucks for obvious reasons). For comparison, Catalina Coffee has good coffee too but the place is often too crowded and too noisy to have a chat or study. Blacksmith is another good one but the parking is a bit troublesome. Every other coffee shops not mentioned here aren't my cup of "coffee". Another great feature from Slowpokes is their outdoor area which consists of a fenced-area for dogs. After the Boneyard closure, Houstonians have no place to go to hang out with their dogs while enjoying great tasting drinks. This is it! The long overdue savior for all of us. read more

Very helpful with describing the different teas they have and let me sample. Super nice staff & the pretzel was bomb biggity.
